As a child, Aurelion always followed closely behind her father.
As a little princess, she firmly believed that her father was omnipotent.
What she longed for, her father could always easily present to her.
Moreover, everyone who came to visit treated the father with utmost respect, without exception.
The father's voice, even slightly lower, was enough to send chills down one's spine and make one tremble.
As a child, Aurelion did not understand the reason behind this.
She simply believed that her father was like a superman, possessing special abilities that other adults did not have.
But her father always told her earnestly:
"This is because the emperor should get everything he wants."
So, does becoming emperor mean you can have everything?
As time went by, Aurelion grew up and began to understand things.
I understood the emperor's position in the country, and I understood why my father was omnipotent.
That belief has always remained unchanged in her heart.
Becoming emperor would allow one to obtain everything one desires.
However, the young Aurelion didn't actually have many desires.
She knew very well that she had two older brothers who were the future heirs to the empire.
Most importantly, Aurelion already understood this at that time.
To become emperor meant that the emperor's father had to abdicate.
After all, a country cannot have two emperors on the throne.
The abdication of the late emperor meant death.
Aurelion did not want her father to die.
For her, losing the only family member with whom she could feel affection was something she could not accept.
Therefore, becoming emperor meant the death of his father.
Reality has already provided the answer.
Becoming emperor does not mean you can get everything you want.
She was unable to prevent her father's death.
It was also impossible to bring her deceased mother back to life.
The same applies now.
She couldn't even have the person she longed for most.
Becoming emperor, however, brought him even greater restrictions on his actions.
Her every move was under the watchful eyes of everyone.
Any mistake made by an emperor, no matter how minor, will be magnified a thousandfold.
And as for relationships with teachers... frankly speaking, that's even more outrageous.
She could find an excuse to bring her teacher back to the palace, keeping him by her side forever under the guise of caring for him.
Even so, she could only be confined to the title of student for the rest of her life.
Because she was the emperor, and the emperor could not get what she desired.
"so……"
Her voice carried a hint of helplessness.
"Is it only... a teacher?"
At this moment, Aurelione knelt on the rock, her shoulders heavy and her eyes downcast.
Those once bright and beautiful eyes now hold a quiet and profound sadness.
Like the surface of a lake in the night, the glint of tears in her eyes shone bright red under the moonlight.
She raised her head, looking at the man in front of her with a helpless and confused expression.
But then I saw him silently lower his head.
But this time, he no longer looked at his students with the same gaze a teacher would give.
Instead, he faced her with a completely new attitude, both gentle and firm.
With the dignity of a gentleman or nobleman, he knelt on one knee.
She gracefully placed her hand respectfully on her left chest and lowered her head.
"His Majesty."
Aurelion's eyes widened, and a heavy, painful feeling tightened in her heart, as if a rope had been pulled in tighter.
Once a subject, always a subject.
Viktor's attitude is quite clear.
Outside the empire,
I am the teacher, and you are the student.
There is a moral divide between teachers and students.
Within the empire,
You are the ruler, and I am the subject.
The relationship between ruler and subject must not be overstepped.
But that wasn't the answer Aurelion wanted.
Her teeth clenched her reddened lower lip, and in despair, her body trembled slightly as she choked out a soft sob:
“Then…then I will give up the throne and sever our teacher-student relationship.”
Her voice carried a faint glimmer of hope.
“So, you…”
Before she could finish speaking, she suddenly realized she could no longer say anything more.
Her gaze fell blankly on her hands resting on her legs, her heart empty and lost.
Even if you give up the throne, what then?
The empire still needs someone to inherit it.
She is now the only one left in the Saul family bloodline.
Can we just randomly pick anyone to inherit the throne?
That would undoubtedly be a disregard for his father's last wishes.
Then why not just have a child to inherit Thor's bloodline?
No...it's not good at all.
To abdicate, there must be a successor with the bloodline of Thor.
If she wants a successor of the Thor bloodline, she must bring her teacher back.
But she is the Empress, so Victor would certainly not do anything out of line.
Therefore, she cannot have an heir and cannot abdicate.
This is an ouroboros with the same answer and the same question.
There is no solution.
So, she could only tremble and keep her head down.
She spoke cautiously, as if afraid of losing the man before her:
Is this... a rejection?
Aurelion didn't dare look up, so she wouldn't see Victor nodding.
She didn't want Viktor to speak either, so she wouldn't hear his refusal.
Even though I know the answer in my heart, I still fantasize about that shattered, faint hope.
In the end, all that remained was a helpless and desperate answer:
“If you are summoning me to return to the Empire with you in His Majesty’s capacity, I will go with you.”
