Chapter 76 Help? That's a different price!

"Will the magic capital face a calamity?"

Victor kept the words of the phantom mage in mind.

He pondered for a moment, or more precisely, he was thinking about the game's plot.

In the future, the city of mages suffered a severe attack.

That's a special quest exclusive to mage players; players of other classes can't join.

The reason is that a powerful, sealed demon is about to break free from its seal and reappear in the world from the city of mages.

—'Dark Archmage' Exodia.

He was originally a mage, but because he was too obsessed with pursuing power, he injected powerful magic into every meridian of his body in order to make his physiology surpass that of humans.

Exodia has indeed become stronger, but the consequences are also obvious.

Due to the backlash of the magic, it eventually lost its sanity.

Its body also transformed into a giant with three heads.

He has three heads, so he has three consciousnesses.

Thoughts clashed constantly, and ideas became incredibly chaotic.

The ever-flowing magic from his body naturally led to endless disasters.

That's why it was sealed away in the magic capital.

The seal on the dark mage is gradually loosening, and according to observations from the magic capital, its target is the city's primary source of magic power.

Haigar.

That is Endymion's primary source of magic, and the foundation of Endymion, storing a vast ocean of magic powerful enough to submerge the world.

It is said to be the first large tree planted by the gods.

Its immense magic is what keeps the Sky City suspended in the air, and also makes Endymion warm and pleasant all year round.

If Hyjal is attacked and destroyed, the entire island's magical supply will be completely lost, and the floating island will rapidly fall to the ground.

This would be a devastating blow to any country.

If it were to fall into the ocean, it would create towering waves that could swallow up half the country, resulting in true devastation and loss of life.

Viktor thought for a moment and leaned back in his chair.

He appeared very calm, even very confident.

"You mean Hyjal?"

The mage in the phantom was stunned for a moment before recovering and said with a wry smile;

"Lord Victor, just how much do you know?"

Viktor spoke slowly, his tone one of strategic brilliance:

"Not much, but it's enough."

"So, you must have heard about the war against demons, which is why you came to find me, Mr. Heim."

Viktor was also very clear about the man in the envelope.

Heim Horn is rumored to be a phantom mage on the continent.

As a member of the Magic Council, he does not belong to any country and has no political stance; he is merely a fourth-tier powerhouse who governs the Magic Capital.

The Phantom Mage, as the name suggests, excels at illusions and teleportation, but what is most enviable is his unique illusion magic—'Phantom Clone'.

Since the phantom can replicate Heim's movements, it can naturally replicate Heim's magic as well.

However, each time a phantom appears, it will weaken the magic that one releases.

But when each bullet becomes part of a dense forest, it can also pierce through a building in an instant.

Heim immediately became serious and slowly said to Viktor:

"You can tell my identity with magic alone, Lord Victor. You are increasingly surprising to me."

His identity was not something he needed to hide; in fact, he was quite famous as a councilor in the city of mages.

To his surprise, Victor recognized him simply by looking at the magic, something even some well-informed mages would find difficult to detect.

Before he could say another word, Viktor clasped his hands together.

"Then why should I agree to your request? I have no sense of belonging to Endymion whatsoever."

Heim Horn became somewhat anxious and, disregarding the possibility of revealing more of Endymion's secrets, immediately began to explain to Victor.

"Hyjal is Endymion's last line of defense; once Endymion falls..."

"That would lead to the destruction of the nation and the collapse of the continent."

Viktor spoke for him.

At this point, Haim Horn swallowed hard.

All I saw was Viktor laughing mockingly:

"What does this have to do with me?"

Heim fell completely silent.

He remembered perfectly what kind of person was standing in front of him.

He won't be morally blackmailed by any grand principles.

"Lord Victor, our Mage Council has granted your request..."

"That was the reward for inviting me to join the parliament."

Viktor responded coldly.

He deserves these things.

And you want my help?

"What you're talking about will cost a different price."

The old mage was furious at Viktor's opportunistic behavior.

"Victor, what makes you so greedy?"

He placed his hands on the table and tapped them lightly.

“I have a younger sister who is a businesswoman.”

“I don’t care how difficult things are for you, but if you want my help, give me my benefits.”

The old monk remained silent for a long time before finally giving up, letting out a heavy sigh.

"Victor, what do you want?"

"The identity of a member of parliament."

The old mage's angry voice rang out. "This is impossible!"

"A council can have a maximum of twelve members at a time. Your qualifications are insufficient to become a member of the Mage Council!"
