"I?"
Viktor frowned after hearing the archmage's words.
Whether the time comes or not, what does it have to do with him?
Could it be that just because he came, the Grand Master was determined to lead the Hall of Heroes to wipe out the gods in one fell swoop?
Seeing the Archmage put his staff down again, smiling and looking as if he couldn't live without him, Viktor really couldn't understand it.
The high priest then continued to ask:
"Where did you see me before?"
"I want to ask, is this place exactly the same as the places you've seen before?"
Victor nodded.
The Archmage has always been hailed as the most mysterious character in the game.
Therefore, even if Viktor knew the Archmage was still alive, he couldn't pinpoint the Archmage's exact location.
The only way to find it is by relying on experience from searching for the archmage in the game's storyline.
That is, waiting for the opening of the Temple of Heroes.
Once Valhalla opens and Aubrey in his Heroic form appears, players can find the Archmage within Valhalla.
"Yes, I see."
The archmage looked at Victor and nodded, saying knowingly:
"So, haven't you already found me beforehand?"
What's the meaning?
A hint of confusion, unusually, appeared in Viktor's eyes.
Seeing this, the Grand Master smiled and explained:
"Look, the place where you can find me must be Valhalla, which means you will eventually fight me."
"However, to fight me, you must first get past Aubrey..."
"Wait a moment."
Viktor seemed to understand something and suddenly interrupted the archmage.
The archmage stopped speaking and waited quietly for Victor to gather his thoughts and prepare to hear what he had to say next.
After all, there are some things that even a great mage has never experienced.
All of this can only be speculated upon by Viktor himself.
What was Viktor thinking at that moment?
He wondered why the Archmage knew that he had to defeat Aubrey before he could see him.
The current Archmage is not the one who will protect Valhalla in the later New Game Plus storyline.
The Temple of Heroes is not yet open to players for challenge.
That's not right either...
Viktor seemed to realize something.
He fell into a classic misconception.
Because he had an omniscient perspective on the game's storyline, Victor mistakenly believed...
Archmages who haven't experienced the Valhalla storyline probably don't know the process of "only by defeating Aubrey can you meet the Archmage".
However, this is the real world, and the Archmage actually possesses his own thoughts.
So why can't we say that the Archmage actually already had this idea?
This was also something Victor had been thinking about before.
The Archmage had already arranged everything in Valhalla, awaiting the players' challenge.
The storyline was structured so that "only by defeating Aubrey can one face the Archmage."
And combining this with what the Archmage said, the true purpose of Valhalla is to eliminate the gods and reshape the world.
If this statement is true, coupled with the Grand Master's explicit mention of "he has come" and "the time has come,"
Viktor thought of a possibility.
It was something he found hard to believe that anyone in this world could actually do.
"You pre-planned the challenges in Valhalla just to make a deeper impression on someone who can 'rewind time' infinitely,"
"The Hall of Heroes will only open after Aubrey becomes a Heroic Spirit."
"Only then will you appear in Valhalla, waiting for the person who can 'rewind time' to appear and come looking for you."
After Viktor voiced his guess, he felt a slight numbness in his arm.
Trembling with fear? Not quite.
To reiterate, he had nothing to fear when facing a Grand Mage.
But the Archmage's plan made Victor realize the depth of his cunning.
The Grand Mage is not a time traveler; he is simply an existing special character in this world.
If it weren't for Victor's appearance, the Archmage would never have believed that time travelers existed in this world until his death.
But it was Viktor's appearance that confirmed the Archmage's conjecture.
The existence of time rewinders allows them to clearly understand the reasons behind the Archmage's appearance.
And based on this reason, they appeared ahead of schedule and found the Grand Master.
When Victor met with the Archmage in Valhalla ahead of time, all of the Archmage's preconceived notions were confirmed.
"Five hundred years ago, I chose to hide and disappear from this world."
The high priest smiled faintly, his voice, weathered by time, steady and serene, his words carrying an epic quality.
"After that, few people in the world knew that I was still alive and remained hidden in this world."
“Those like the Auberges eventually became Heroic Spirits.”
"Only you."
At this point, the archmage looked at Victor, a relieved ease shining in his eyes, which were full of mystery and wisdom.
His tightly furrowed brows relaxed instantly, as if the mental burden had dissipated after his guess was confirmed.
"Before this, we had never met."
"You only know me from legends, but you firmly believe that I exist in this world."
"He even knew exactly what the conditions were for meeting me, although I never revealed those conditions to anyone."
Seeing Victor and Vega both remain silent, the archmage smiled easily.
"So, you can also understand it as me waiting for you all this time."
Indeed, although in the Archmage's eyes this was his first meeting with Victor.
