Thump.
Before she could finish speaking, Erica felt a heavy blow to the head.
Overwhelmed by the pain, she half-squatted down, covered her head with her hands, and gently rubbed her scalp.
Viktor had already turned around, and was also half-squatting, extending his hand expressionlessly.
Clearly, it was that same hand that had just hit her on the head.
Then, Viktor spoke calmly:
Do you remember our promise?
"Only by defeating Gwen and the calamity will you have a chance to pursue me."
Erica covered her head, somewhat bewildered, but still smiled sheepishly.
"Hehehe... I know."
She was just thinking of taking a gamble, what if the professor actually agreed?
Come to think of it, she is twenty-eight years old now, while Professor Victor is only thirty years old because he lost ten years.
They are a match made in heaven!
However, Professor Victor did not give her that opportunity.
Although she felt a little disappointed, Erica thought about it again and realized that this was normal.
After all, he's Professor Victor.
Seeing Erica's playful smile, Victor withdrew his hand.
He slowly stood up, put his hands in his pockets, and calmly said:
"You have one more chance to claim your reward."
"But if it's still as outrageous as before, I can't guarantee that this reward opportunity will still be valid."
Erica blinked and released her hand from her head, which was no longer in pain.
He patted his trench coat, stood up, and looked at Viktor intently.
"Then, Professor..."
"How about you hug me?"
That's not too much to ask.
After a moment's thought, Viktor agreed immediately.
If this can motivate Erica, that would be even better.
He then opened his arms, looked directly into Erica's eyes, and gestured for her to come closer.
Erica was incredibly excited, her heart pounding in her chest, making it hard for her to hide the smile on her lips.
She took a step forward and suddenly threw herself into Victor's arms.
They embraced tightly, without saying a word.
Because of the height difference, Erica could only reach under Victor's armpits to hug his broad back.
Her face was pressed against Viktor's chest, greedily inhaling his familiar scent.
Victor remained remarkably calm, simply placing his hands crossed over Erica's waist without groping her or making any other movements.
After a long embrace, Viktor, seeing that the time was right, was just about to speak.
"That's about enough..."
But suddenly, the girl in his arms stood on tiptoe.
She quickly pulled her hands out from behind her back and instead wrapped them tightly around Viktor's neck.
With her eyes closed, she deliberately brought the moisture to her lips.
At that moment, Viktor's eyes widened.
Similarly, the crow soaring above the sea of clouds nearby stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
Time seemed to stand still at that moment, and there was no response for a long time.
Victor did not push her away, nor did he stop the girl's greed.
She allowed the other person to explore awkwardly, demanding the reward she wanted.
They let the warm breeze sweep across their identical trench coats, but with different hair ends.
The next moment, dense vines and flowers rapidly grew on the originally rocky steps.
Bathed in sunlight, these plants sway gracefully, their vibrant colors spreading across the entire hundred-step staircase.
This transformed the area in front of the Temple of Heroes into a beautiful, flower-filled garden.
Even the surrounding sea of clouds appeared softer, as if blooming with ethereal flowers.
After a long while, the girl's feet finally landed steadily.
Erica's previously elongated body lowered slightly, surrounded by intertwined vines and swaying flowers.
She still held Viktor's neck tightly with her arms, forcing him to lower his head and look into her eyes.
The girl's innocent eyes held a mixture of shy embarrassment and bold satisfaction.
"The thing I regret most is that I rejected you when I was seventeen."
"But if I hadn't done that, I don't think I would have met such an outstanding person like you, nor would I have become your student and become who I am today."
Erica also liked Victor.
But this affection is completely different from Aurelion's.
The one she likes is the current Victor.
She was an ordinary girl who would get annoyed when Viktor was teaching her strictly, but out of respect for him, she chose to obey.
She is also an easily satisfied girl; a word of praise or agreement can make her happy for a long time.
Similarly, she was also a jealous girl.
But her jealousy was different.
Erica was jealous of others who became powerful before her, and jealous that Victor focused more of his attention on others.
His jealousy of Aurelion was particularly evident.
For example, she feels displeased when she sees Aurelion becoming stronger with Victor's help.
The thought that she was still being used as bait made her even more upset.
It was because of these things that Erica became determined to find Victor.
As she spoke, Erica narrowed her eyes, revealing a sly, mischievous smile that made her appear incredibly smug.
"But in that case, I should be one step ahead of that little empress."
That little empress certainly never kissed Viktor, nor did she ever receive a confession from him.
Thinking about it this way, her victory was incredibly sweet.
When Victor heard these words, he frowned and looked at Erica seriously, though his words sounded somewhat powerless.
