Chapter 985 You're taking this little treat for granted?

The hazy glow of dawn gradually spread across the horizon.

Golden sunlight streamed through the gaps in the clouds, gently caressing the lush, swaying grass, and gradually climbing up the ancient and massive mansion.

Clear, bright sunlight streamed in through the window, gently falling on the clean, soft bed.

Viktor seemed to catch the light and shadow coming from the corner of his eye, and slowly opened his eyes, waking up.

He propped himself up with his hands and sat halfway up the bed.

He usually gets up early at this time.

Even if he didn't get enough sleep the night before, a few hours of sleep was enough for him to fully recover his energy.

On the one hand, as a mage, his recovery ability far exceeds that of ordinary people.

On the other hand, Viktor's achievements today are entirely due to his hard work and dedication.

Therefore, waking up early is inevitable.

But today...

Thinking of this, Victor's gaze swept to the other side of the bed.

There was no one around.

But the slight wrinkles on the sheets clearly indicated that someone had been lying there.

However, the surface of the bed was cleaned very neatly.

After all, they changed the sheets before going to bed last night.

Victor pondered for a moment.

It seems someone got up even earlier than him.

After a quick cleansing, Victor casually cast a cleansing spell.

After getting dressed, he walked out the door with the most elegant demeanor and headed towards the restaurant.

However, breakfast, which is usually laid out on his table after he gets up, was not prepared today.

Viktor was not surprised by this.

He walked lightly to the dining table, and the chair seemed to be automatically pulled out by invisible hands.

Viktor leaned back slightly, sitting right in the middle of the chair, and casually picked up the mirror next to the dining table.

It's not because I'm vain and want to see my handsome face.

He snapped his fingers, and the image of his face reflected in the mirror suddenly changed.

A spacious kitchen appeared in the mirror, with kitchen utensils displayed on the walls.

In one corner stood a heavy oven, from which wisps of thick steam rose.

Meanwhile, a group of chefs dressed in white robes and wearing chef's hats were crowding at the doorway.

They huddled together, cautiously peering at the scene inside the door.

"Hmm... salt, eggs, and..."

At that moment, a figure that Viktor found very familiar was wearing an apron and busily working by the stove.

Beside her, a rather plump chef kept a close eye on the woman's movements.

She didn't know what to do with her hands, so she awkwardly put them together by her legs, a forced smile on her face, looking somewhat helpless.

"Um, madam, you've put in too much salt again..."

"What!? We can only make one more..."

The woman's hand, which was sprinkling salt, suddenly froze for a moment; she quickly put the salt shaker aside.

Looking at the failed work in front of him, his face was filled with disappointment and distress.

After a moment's thought, she picked up the breakfast she had just prepared, took a spoon, gently cut off a small piece, and slowly put it into her mouth, chewing it carefully.

Then, his expression froze.

"Ugh...it's way too salty."

She stuck out her tongue slightly, feeling as if her taste buds were being bombarded by salt, but she still forced herself to swallow the food with a bitter expression.

They even forced themselves to finish the entire plate of failed dishes.

Then, she tightened her chef's hat, clenched her fist, and encouraged herself.

"Again!"

"I must get breakfast ready before Viktor wakes up!"

Seeing this, Victor knew he didn't need to watch any longer.

He chuckled softly, then put the mirror back in its original position.

His fingertips lightly touched the table, and a book floated down from upstairs, landing precisely in Victor's hands.

Viktor then simply sat down at the table, calmly opened a book, and immersed himself in it.

Until... Viktor himself didn't know how much time had passed.

As if apologizing, the plate of food was pushed into his line of sight.

It was just a plate of ordinary fried eggs, and because the heat wasn't controlled well, the edges were even a little burnt.

Viktor looked up and saw Gwen looking somewhat awkward.

“I…I heard from Liya that on the first day of marriage, the husband’s first breakfast must be prepared by the wife herself.”

"She only told me about this tradition yesterday, so I had to choose a simple dish to practice. I hope you won't mind."

Who would have thought that the usually decisive and resolute High Knight Gwen could also have such a coy side?

Victor, of course, didn't mind. He flicked his finger, and the book flew back to its original place in the study.

Then, he picked up his knife and fork, gently cut off a piece of fried egg, and put it in his mouth as usual.

Gwen stood to the side, her hands clenched tightly, her heart pounding, her eyes filled with anticipation as she watched Viktor's every move.

Only after he put the food in his mouth did Gwen nervously ask:

How are you feeling?

She had tasted it before serving it, and it was definitely the best she had made all day.

In the end, Gwen got what she wanted and received a satisfactory answer.

"very nice."

As Viktor savored his food, as if trying to prove something, he quickly finished his breakfast.

Afterward, he elegantly drank some water and gently wiped his mouth with a napkin.

It was still a bit salty.

Seeing this, Gwen breathed a sigh of relief and smiled with a sense of relief.
