Chapter 2 Are you willing to sign a contract with me and provide me with food and lodging?

'Harpika?'

Viktor paused slightly, as memories from the game began to surface in his mind.

This is one of the many gods in the game's background.

He is a character who only appears in the game's background and is only mentioned in the storybook of the collection quests.

No one has ever seen his true form.

According to the game's story, Habaka's appearances always bring either natural disasters or man-made calamities.

The most severe record ever recorded is that the appearance of Habaka reduced the world's human population by half!

This is a very evil and terrifying deity.

"Of course, you can also call me by my current name, Vega."

The crow, who called himself Vega, politely tucked his wings into his chest and bowed.

Unable to fathom the other's thoughts, Viktor did not respond.

Seeing that Viktor remained silent, Vega flapped his wings and straightened his posture.

"Interesting. It seems you've heard of me."

Victor: "I don't know him."

He knew very well that being entangled with a god was not a good thing; this was a fact generally acknowledged among the players.

Especially these evil gods that exist only in the background story, they look very dangerous.

But why would an evil god who has never appeared in the game's storyline approach Victor beforehand?

Vega opened his beak, and a hoarse, raven-like voice preceded him:

“You are not Victor, your soul is not dirty enough.”

It stared at Viktor with one eye, trying to see a hint of panic on his face, but Viktor's usual expressionless face disappointed it.

"God can see through the soul."

It said.

"But it's okay, I came here to find you."

Vega shook his feathers, and a long, thin black feather fell onto the table, turning into a black piece of paper. The white stripes twisted and began to form a bunch of words, like a demon's contract.

Viktor looked at the contents of the paper, feeling a headache coming on.

He had just arrived in this world and hadn't done anything yet, but he received two contracts in just one day.

I'm a game booster! Not some miserable wage earner.

He took the paper, and as he read it, he said mockingly:

"Aren't you a god? You've fallen on hard times?"

He never imagined that even God would have to sign up clients.

The contract is a pact that if he signs it, he must provide the crow with food, clothing, shelter, and even help him build a church and develop followers for this evil god.

The contract states that the more believers it has, the stronger it will become.

And then, that was it.

Victor: "..."

Even the most outrageous contracts aren't this ridiculous. They provide you with food and lodging, and even find you followers, but you end up getting all the benefits while I get nothing.

He watched the crow silently as it gracefully preened its feathers, like a noble bird.

If we can ignore its single eye.

"Most of my power is sealed, so I can only seek the protection of others. If you take this deal, you will gain the friendship of a god."

"It's worth it."

While calling out, Vega continued to preen its feathers.

Victor was speechless. God's friendship? What good is that?

The crow glanced at him with its one eye, seemingly reading his thoughts, and said calmly, "It can save your life."

"make a deal!"

Victor signed his name on the contract in a grand and detailed manner.

He wasn't too worried about being tricked, because the gods always kept their word.

Even an evil god.

After signing the contract, he felt a very subtle connection between them.

It seems that as long as he has a thought, he can find the crow no matter where it is.

The crow flew to Victor's shoulder and pecked at its feathers.

Lia was absolutely right; keeping a crow as a pet really shows a lack of good taste.

But since he was new here and had already signed the contract, he figured he might as well treat it as keeping a tasteless pet.

Anyway, all we need to do is provide it with food and shelter.

As for the church, we can just build one later with money.

He turned to look at another contract beside him, which also required his signature.

This is a contract from a prestigious magic academy, sincerely inviting the protagonist to become a teacher there, and promising him the title of professor.

He then remembered that although Victor was a villain, he was also a magical genius.

While countless elderly mages were stuck at the second tier, Victor had already reached the third tier at the age of twenty.

And if we translate that into a game...

Viktor silently recited the command, and a game panel appeared before his eyes.

Name: Victor Clavner

LV: 39

HP: 1000/1000

MP: 4900/4900

A typical fragile mage.

This confirmed his suspicions; he had indeed traveled into the game.

Tier 3 mages correspond to levels 30-39 in the game, and so on for higher levels.

In the backstory, Viktor had not improved in nine years, and his reputation as a genius had long been forgotten by the world.

Only after transmigrating into Viktor's body did I realize that he was hiding his true abilities.

Having accumulated countless experience points through upgrades, he could easily cross the threshold of Tier 3 and leap into the level of a Tier 4 Human Saint Mage.

But Viktor never did; he was always plotting something.

Although his character is questionable, his reputation as a genius is undeniable.

This contract must be signed.

Putting aside the fact that this title was earned by his sister and fiancée.
