But this raised another question for the little fish:
If the girl in front of me wasn't a member of parliament.
So where are the real legislators?
However, no one answered its questions, and Henney's inquiries followed one after another.
"You are the city lord here, aren't you?"
The little fish nodded repeatedly, not daring to be negligent in the slightest.
Hene felt somewhat puzzled:
"The residents here are almost all human."
"Why are you the only city lord...?"
What does it look like?
The little fish was silent for a moment, then spoke in a weak voice.
"Because I was originally a fish."
Since its birth, it has lived with its fellow creatures in the vast ocean, roaming freely.
At first, the little fish couldn't speak and didn't have any extra thoughts.
Only the instinct for survival.
They eat seaweed in the sea and hide from other predators.
Because they are the weakest species in the ocean, the survival of a single individual would only make them food for other predators.
Therefore, as a group, they must unite.
"You know what? It was humans who gave me thought and power, making me who I am today."
The little fish wiggled its fins and began to speak.
"But I hate humans."
Humans use magic recklessly and depend on it, yet show no respect for nature whatsoever.
In pursuit of their own better lives, they dumped vast amounts of industrial waste into the ocean.
These wastes gradually polluted the clear blue ocean, and the pungent smell and burning sensation spread downstream.
This is even more disconcerting than the threat posed by natural predators to marine creatures like them.
The ocean was polluted, their home was destroyed.
Many of the little fish's brethren perished, one by one dying tragically.
It alone survived.
The fish's tenacious survival in the polluted environment caused it to mutate.
It even learned to speak, developed thoughts, and became more powerful.
Those compatriots who died from pollution could not even decompose.
It is a cry for help from the ocean, a plea for help from the ocean.
It wanted to live.
They want those humans to pay the price for this.
And so, the ocean responded to it.
It was endowed with the power of 'tribe'.
It can summon the corpses of its dead brethren whenever it wants.
Their bodies cannot decompose, so they become helpers for the small fish.
This is why the little fish was able to survive safely in this ocean and gradually become the lord of the Sea City.
Hene simply looked at the little fish in silence, and then spoke:
"I want to see your compatriots one more time."
"Mr. Crocodile, please put it down first."
"Uh, okay."
Lightton scratched his head and casually tossed the small fish into the ocean like he was throwing a stone.
The little fish did not leave; instead, it summoned the school of fish to regroup.
Countless silvery-white fish, like it, gathered together and attached themselves to its body.
Then, it suddenly transformed into a huge, ferocious fish monster.
The fish on the outer edge shimmered with a cool, silvery light, like fish scales.
But they were lifeless and dreary.
Hene watched it change quietly.
At first, she thought the little fish was some kind of monster.
But no monster has ever existed like it, possessing intelligence and even being able to communicate normally with humans.
The little fish's voice then rang out:
"Do you see the miserable state of my dead compatriots?"
"Therefore, I hate humans."
It paused for a moment, then continued;
"Do you know how these sea people came to be in this sea city?"
As it spoke, it looked around at the sea people who were filled with fear because of Lightton's appearance.
"They were all humans who lived on some of the islands, got lost in the ocean, were forced to enter the sea city, and became 'sea people'."
"They have no regard for anything, fishing for fun and constantly polluting the ocean."
"So, I also want them to experience what it's like to be bound by the sea."
In this seaside city, although they can experience emotions, they are like numb puppets.
Aside from their emotions, they are unable to take any action.
Do you know why they seek offerings?
Hene shook her head, indicating her confusion, while Little Fish burst into laughter:
"Because they want to die, they want to die!"
Disrupted by the Pact of the Ocean, the sea dwellers of the upper city are caught between life and death.
Once integrated into the ocean, one can only obey the commands of the one in control.
Their behavior was controlled; they had no choice between life and death.
Therefore, they could only pin their hopes on offerings, hoping to become the offerings themselves.
"They even hope that they can become food for the ocean!"
Little Fish's voice grew increasingly excited, and her whole body began to tremble slightly.
It had a vague urge to give up, but it felt great to say it all out loud.
It was as if it had avenged all of humanity's sins one by one.
That's right, everything it does is to vent its anger on humanity.
The little fish gradually calmed down, gently waving its enormous tail, composed of countless corpses of its kind, as it swam gracefully around Heni.
Although it also knew that these things were the secrets of the Sea City.
But it still told everything to the unfamiliar human woman in front of it.
It wasn't because I was afraid of the huge crocodile.
Because once it enters the ocean, it has nothing to fear.
Even if it can't beat it, it can run away; the vast ocean always has a place it can go.
However, it inexplicably developed some affection for this human girl.
This is an emotion that cannot be controlled.
"Hmm... You're the only human I don't dislike, so there are some things I'll only say to you."
Hene was startled when Xiaoyu's voice rang in her ears.
