Chapter 173 Searching for the Little Skeleton

With a flick of his finger, Jiang Hao caused the enormous skeletal roc, which had been hovering steadily outside the cliff, to vanish instantly.

Carrying Jiang Hao's soul clone, the skeletal roc entered a hazy, gray space. Even without Jiang Hao entering himself, he could clearly see everything the skeletal roc saw.

The ground here is shrouded in a gray haze, appearing from above like rolling gray clouds, obscuring all the secrets of the earth. A chilling danger permeates the deathly silence.

Fortunately, the sky was exceptionally open, which allowed the skeletal roc to fly quickly through the air.

The connection with the little skeleton remained faint and indistinct. The skeletal roc flapped its wings rapidly, hoping to quickly re-establish that link with the little skeleton.

The smog on the ground grew thicker and thicker, and the smog churned more and more violently. Looking down from high above, Jiang Hao noticed a patch of land that was rapidly shifting, unlike the movement of smog. Out of curiosity, Jiang Hao flapped his wings, and the skeletal roc began to slowly descend.

Once they were close enough to the ground, Jiang Hao could see that two skeletal monsters, each nearly tens of meters tall, were locked in combat beneath the thick fog, which barely covered their limbs. The two skeletal monsters moved nimbly, leaping and tumbling through the fog, stirring it up incessantly.

What puzzled Jiang Hao was that although the two skeleton monsters fought fiercely, leaving wounds as thick as bowls on each other's bodies, there weren't many wounds on either monster after a while.

Logically, given the duration of the fight between the two skeleton monsters, their wounds should have covered their entire bodies. However, apart from the newly added bone cracks that Jiang Hao noticed, there were very few wounds on other parts of their bodies.

Jiang Hao stared intently at the terrifying bone crack on the hind leg of a monster. He noticed wisps of gray mist sweeping through the crack, emerging much less densely. The crack itself was visibly shrinking, and in no time, it had shrunk by a tenth of its original size.

This alarmingly fast repair speed is simply outrageous!

Jiang Hao rubbed his eyes and continued to stare at the crack. Although the two monsters were still fighting, Jiang Hao couldn't keep watching them. But the monster's movements—turning, rolling, attacking—appeared to Jiang Hao like a snail crawling, incredibly slow. Therefore, Jiang Hao could easily find the crack at the base of its right hind leg each time.

The crack gradually narrowed until, after a few minutes, it went from large to small, from thick to thin, until it disappeared completely.

Jiang Hao was stunned! The scene shattered his worldview, and he even forgot to flap his wings. The skeletal roc rapidly descended from the sky, but fortunately, Jiang Hao reacted in time, and the skeletal roc flapped its wings and soared back into the sky.

I thought the Summoning Space was just a place for summoned creatures to live, but I never expected that the effect of restoring the injuries of summoned creatures here would be so peculiar!

What's the deal with his summoned skeleton needing to rest here for 10,000 hours?

Could it be that the little skeleton has multiple fractures all over its body?

Jiang Hao grew even more worried. There were no sun, moon, or stars in the sky, and beneath his feet was a thick, swirling gray fog. Where was there any sense of direction? Jiang Hao could only try to maintain the faint connection with the little skeleton as he flew toward the location he sensed the little skeleton was in.

After flying for an unknown amount of time, just as Jiang Hao was feeling exhausted, the connection between him and the little skeleton became clearer. Jiang Hao immediately perked up, knowing he was on the right track. So, with a flap of his wings, he quickly flew forward.

Once the skeletal roc retracted its bone wings and stood firmly on the ground, Jiang Hao was able to see the little skeleton he had been searching for through the almost imperceptible gray mist.

The skeletal roc stood on a thick layer of white bones, which cracked and broke under the immense pressure. The little skeleton, on the other hand, was already shattered into pieces; its once pristine white bones were now a pile of fragments, scattered helplessly on the skeleton.

The skull was relatively intact, though it had been broken into several large and small pieces, lying flat on the ground, revealing a wisp of pale blue soul fire, about the thickness of a match, flickering and dancing within.

The dark gold-grade weapon [Heroic Blade] beside it had long since shattered into several pieces, making it impossible to discern its original form.

What kind of attack did this guy suffer? If Jiang Hao hadn't been in contact with the little skeleton, he would never have recognized that this pile of bone fragments was the same little skeleton that had once swept across the entire northern ice plains, arrogant and invincible.

Even if its biological mother came, she probably wouldn't recognize it.

Could Jiang Hao possibly ask this little skeleton what happened before? He was just grateful it didn't die.

Maybe in a little while, a gust of wind will blow, and it will be finished.

In desperation, Jiang Hao tried to use the Soul Link skill to spare a wisp of his soul to strengthen the little skeleton's soul fire. However, when the skeleton roc extended one wing, it made no sound; instead, the resulting airflow nearly extinguished the wisp of soul fire. Jiang Hao was immediately too frightened to move.

He then realized that this body was not his original body, and he was unable to use any of the original body's skills.

Jiang Hao was anxious and carefully took a few steps forward, using the massive body of the skeletal roc to shield the little skeleton's faint soul fire before he felt a little relieved.

Looking around, all he saw were bones of all sizes and colors, some whole, some broken, and some, like the little skeleton, shattered into a pile of bone fragments. But he couldn't find another one like the little skeleton, with a wisp of soul fire still burning within it.

The gray mist that could quickly heal the skeletons' injuries was almost invisible here. Even if a wisp of it drifted in from afar, it was all absorbed by the bones on the ground, and not a single trace could get through.

Being in such an unlucky place, let alone a year, even if Jiang Hao himself dies of old age, the little skeleton will never recover.

Jiang Hao either had to lure in a large amount of gray mist to heal the little skeleton, or he'd have to move. He was worried about leaving the little skeleton there. If a few fighting monsters suddenly appeared nearby, the little skeleton probably wouldn't be able to withstand their onslaught.

Having made up its mind, the skeletal roc cautiously took a few steps back, its massive beak opening like a small shovel, and scooped up the entire pile of bone fragments from the little skeleton into its mouth.

After taking a few steps, Jiang Hao noticed nothing unusual about the faint wisp of soul fire emanating from the little skeleton. He then flapped his wings, and the enormous skeleton roc soared into the air, flying towards the area thick with gray fog.
