Chapter 32 Sirio's Hatred

Jiang Hao didn't waste any more time; he wanted to clear the final level as soon as possible and get the first-clear reward.

So, in one fell swoop, he pulled the remaining 13 cannibals on the platform over and killed them one by one. The platform was now empty, but there was no movement. After waiting for a while, Jiang Hao saw another 15 cannibals emerge from the ground of the platform.

Jiang Hao's eyes narrowed.

"Holy crap, why isn't the boss showing up yet? Is he cheating?"

"Or is it that someone must be on the platform to proceed to the next stage when the mobs are cleared?"

So Jiang Hao pulled the ghouls over one by one and killed them instantly. When only one ghoul remained on the platform, Jiang Hao ordered the skeleton foreman to go up onto the platform.

The ghoul finally spotted the enemy on the platform and immediately pounced on the skeleton foreman. But how could it possibly be a match for a level 12 bronze boss? It was instantly killed by the skeleton foreman in a single exchange.

There's finally some activity on the platform.

Boss Sirio slowly materialized, his black robes billowing and rustling behind him without wind. Simultaneously, he raised his staff, and clusters of gray light instantly enveloped Jiang Hao, who stood some distance away, and all his summoned creatures. Then, Jiang Hao found himself uncontrollably being moved onto the platform.

The gray light dissipated, and Jiang Hao could move again.

"Damn it, this old guy won't let me use his fighting style."

Jiang Hao immediately raised his staff, and the boss, Sirio, was pulled directly under his staff.

-

The true damage from the talent was terrifying, rising from Sirio's black robes. However, Jiang Hao noticed that the boss's health bar hadn't decreased much.

But he remained completely calm. He immediately ordered all his summoned creatures to surround him.

"I wanted to interact with you as an ordinary person, but all I got in return was your estrangement. I'm not pretending anymore, I'm laying my cards on the table, I'm your daddy."

As soon as he finished speaking, the summoned creatures began to unleash a barrage of attacks on Sirio, and his health began to drop rapidly.

Jiang Hao thought defeating the boss was just a matter of time, and he would soon receive the first-clear reward for Nightmare Mode. However, he suddenly discovered that a massive fire had broken out on the platform, engulfing him and all his summoned creatures. Even more despairing for Jiang Hao was that their health was dropping at a rate of 20% per second.

Jiang Hao was terrified. If he couldn't defeat the boss within 5 seconds, wouldn't he and his summoned creatures be doomed?

"Holy crap, this Nightmare Mode is so insane, the requirements for defeating the boss are so high?"

"This fucking ridiculous mode, has anyone managed to beat it?"

Although dying in a dungeon allows for resurrection, and the damage is only reduced to a 30-minute weakened state, Jiang Hao was still unwilling to accept it.

He stared intently at the boss's health bar, watching it slowly decrease. Until the very last second, the boss still had 30% health remaining, while his and his summoned creatures' health bars were empty.

Jiang Hao closed his eyes in despair, waiting to be resurrected at the starting village's resurrection point.

Jiang Hao suddenly felt a large hand tightly gripping his throat. As the hand slowly rose, Jiang Hao's body began to sway back and forth in the air.

Jiang Hao opened his eyes.

The flames on the ground had disappeared, and from Sirio, or more precisely from the black robe he wore, a dozen skeletal arms like vines stretched out, tightly gripping him and his summoned creatures.

Jiang Hao was completely unable to move, and the commands he gave to his summoned creatures were also ignored.

At this point, he could only let boss Sirio's skeletal arm do as it pleased.

"I never imagined that Sirio, the former chief architect who oversaw the construction of Jinling City, would end up like this."

An NPC with a green health bar above his head appeared out of nowhere. He was dressed in a white priest's robe and stood on the edge of the platform opposite Sirio. Above his health bar was his name: Guardian Mingdu.

With a wave of his staff, the skeletal arms extending from the robes of the Skeleton Sirio vanished instantly. At the same time, Jiang Hao crashed to the ground.

The skeleton Cirio was furious and let out a long howl, but no sound came out from the empty skull.

Guardian Mingdu shook his head, then waved his staff again, instantly restoring Jiang Hao and his summoned creatures' health to full. Jiang Hao reacted, immediately raising his staff and swinging it at the skeleton Sirio.

This time, Sirio's health dropped even faster. Under the onslaught of his summoned creatures, Skeleton Sirio finally fell to the ground in less than two seconds.

A transparent phantom rose from the fallen skeleton Cirio's body.

Jiang Hao recognized the illusory figure as Sirio in his normal mode. He still had a white beard, and the flesh on his face was clearly visible. However, he was very calm at this moment, showing no trace of the madness he had shown before.

Seeing the giant cannon beside him, the phantom Cirio was somewhat surprised.

Turning his head, he saw the guardian Mingdu standing beside him, and Sirio blurted out.

"Intelligence officer? What are you doing here?"

"Could it be that Shreen sent you?"

"You seem to have a great prejudice against the city lord."

The guardian put away his staff and asked the phantom of Sirio before him.

"Prejudice? No, no, no, you misunderstand."

"I have no prejudice against him, I just want to... kill... him!"

The phantom Sirio's face finally revealed that extreme madness again. Then he leaped up and stood directly on the barrel of the giant cannon, a burning torch appearing in his hand at some point.

The Guardian's eyes narrowed, and he immediately stepped forward to stop Cirio. Cirio quickly handed the torch to the cannon's fuse, but didn't light it immediately. His eyes were fixed on the Guardian, as if to say, "If you take one more step forward, I'll light the fuse."

The guardian sighed and ultimately did not take another step forward.

Jiang Hao had also tried to pull over Sirio's phantom and beat it up. However, Sirio's phantom was clearly no longer a viable target.

Therefore, Jiang Hao realized that what he had seen was just a scene from a movie.

The Destroyer and the Guardian fell into a silent standoff. After a while, Sirio suddenly burst into laughter. After a few laughs, the manic expression on his face gradually faded, and he lowered his head, as if he had fallen into deep thought.

"I devoted half my life to building the magnificent city of Nanjing. I dare say it is a miracle, a miracle in architectural history."

"But that bastard Shreen didn't pay me enough wages."

"What was that bastard Shreen doing while my fellow artisans and their families starved and froze to death?"

"While claiming that war was imminent and that military funds were needed, he was also indulging in nightly revelry in the city with a group of nobles."

"He even wanted to make me a baron."

"Does he think this will make me betray my brothers?"

“I took my brothers and robbed his gold mine.”

"Even so, he remained unmoved and still refused to pay me enough wages."

"Then I'll blow up his Nanjing City!"

As Cirio got more and more carried away with his words, he was about to light the fuse on the cannon.

The guardian Mingdu pointed to the bones scattered all over the platform.

"Where did they come from?"

It was clearly a question to Cirio about what was going on with these skeleton monsters.
