Chapter 156 An eye for an eye

Jiang Hao felt no heartache at having his silver-grade staff taken away by his opponent.

The archers' arrows and the mages' ice arrows began to fly recklessly toward Jiang Hao, but because of the distance, they lost their momentum halfway through the flight and then plummeted downwards.

Jiang Hao didn't even glance at the archers. He just smiled and took out his last staff from his backpack. It was the newbie staff that he received as a reward from the system when he first entered the game. It added 2 points to his physical attack power.

Jiang Hao, who had always been well-behaved and had initially been smug, suddenly became terrified. Meanwhile, the archers and mages from MI7 grew increasingly anxious, relentlessly attacking Jiang Hao despite knowing it would be futile.

She'd always been a good girl, and she was so eager to stop scolding me that she was whispering something in my ear, but she just shook her head like a rattle-drum. Finally, as if she couldn't resist her companion's insistence, she reluctantly extended her right index finger to Jiang Hao again and beckoned him twice.

Nothing happened.

The once well-behaved boy had become a fool. He stared at the staff in Jiang Hao's hand as if it were the scythe in the hand of the Grim Reaper, his face filled with terror.

Jiang Hao grinned, then immediately laughed. It seemed her ability to seize weapons had a time limit.

Jiang Hao slowly raised the new magic staff in his hand. He was so scared that his soul almost left his body. He pulled another player next to him and used him and the other player to shield him. He shrank his neck and bent his waist, hiding his whole body behind them.

Jiang Hao ignored all of that, locked onto his position, and swung his staff down suddenly. He then saw the well-behaved boy appear under the staff, his health bar was cleared, and then a flash of white light appeared before his body instantly disappeared from the battlefield.

The attacks from the mages and archers on the ground ceased in perfect unison at that moment. Even the other players from SI:7 remained completely still; the silence was eerily profound.

After making his move, Jiang Hao didn't act again. He simply stood high in the air, smiling as he watched her practice. After a long, stunned silence, she seemed to finally react, her right index finger urgently reaching out and beckoning Jiang Hao repeatedly. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought she was summoning him.

Meanwhile, the players from MI7 were in complete chaos, like startled birds, rushing around the battlefield, hoping to get as far away from Jiang Hao as possible.

Jiang Hao raised his staff again. "Don't scold me, I'm practicing!" Her face turned pale. She turned her head and looked around, wanting to run away. Seeing the players from Military Intelligence Bureau 7 fleeing in all directions, she wanted to run away as well. But when she looked up and saw Jiang Hao just holding his staff and quietly watching her, she quickly stopped and raised the silver-grade shield staff high.

That was as if they were saying to Jiang Hao, "Stop fighting, stop fighting, here's your equipment back."

Jiang Hao's smile deepened. This Korean player was quite interesting.

"Stop scolding me, I'm practicing, you've clearly misunderstood." She looked down at the legendary Guardian Staff for a long while, and finally reluctantly raised it. Her face held a resolute expression, as if she were saying to Jiang Hao, "Here you go, I've given it all back, can you let me go now?"

Jiang Hao was puzzled. Given the amount of time that had passed, her abilities should have fully recovered. Why didn't she use her powers to take away the last weapon from him?

Judging from her behavior, it seems she knew from the beginning that she couldn't take the new staff away.

Could there be something special about the beginner's staff? Jiang Hao really wanted to ask this female player himself.

He had already wasted too much time here, so he stretched out his left hand, suddenly grasped it, and the protective staff instantly disappeared from his hand and reappeared in Jiang Hao's hand. After doing the same thing, the shield staff returned to Jiang Hao's hand once again.

"Don't scold me, I'm training people until they're dumbfounded." She just stared blankly at Jiang Hao, her eyes filled with doubt, confusion, and even more shock.

Jiang Hao had already guessed what was causing "Don't scold me, I'm practicing" to be shocked. But Jiang Hao had no intention of explaining anything to her. Using her own methods against her was not only to reclaim his equipment, but also a small warning. Looking at "Don't scold me, I'm practicing" frozen in place, Jiang Hao suddenly swung his staff down. The female player instantly vanished from her spot, a flash of white light around her, leaving the battlefield with her frozen expression.

Jiang Hao put away his staff and looked at a group of priests not far away. These priests seemed oblivious to the commotion and continued casting healing spells without stopping. However, their target was the two thousand warriors fighting against the gold-level two-legged merfolk a few kilometers away.

It's important to know that the average priest's casting range is only around 100 meters. Jiang Hao wanted to know how they managed to cast spells over such a long distance. So, the skeletal roc flapped its wings and carried Jiang Hao to the air above the priests' formation.

Upon closer inspection, Jiang Hao couldn't detect anything unusual. The priests were simply casting healing spells continuously; their postures and chanting times were exactly the same as the other priests, leaving nothing amiss. Whether at the front, center, or rear of the formation, there wasn't a single special person to be found.

This cleric formation, composed of members of the John Bull Guild and the Royal Guard, was rather strange, so Jiang Hao had no choice but to try them one by one.

He raised his staff and swung it down at one of the priests, who was pulled into the air, then vanished from the battlefield in a flash of white light. Jiang Hao saw the priest formation continuing to cast healing spells, while the warriors several kilometers away continued to receive their healing. Nothing had changed on the battlefield.

So Jiang Hao raised his staff and tried again. Only after waving his staff repeatedly and sending away nearly 20 players did the battlefield finally change. Although the priests' formation remained intact, the warriors receiving healing in the distance could no longer be healed. Under the attacks of the gold-level murlocs, many warriors quickly had their health bars depleted and abruptly left the battlefield.

The once valiant warriors suddenly descended into chaos. Lacking any semblance of formation, they quickly suffered heavy casualties under the relentless onslaught of the two-legged merfolk. Frustrated and angry, they all turned to look at the battlefield, their eyes filled with anxiety and rage. Seeing the skeletal roc circling overhead above the priests' ranks, their expressions shifted to panic and confusion.

Jiang Hao chuckled again. He knew that the pastor he had just seen off must be the person he was looking for.

Jiang Hao silently memorized the person's ID: "I'm very cautious when healing."

Yes, he really is a dog.

Just as Jiang Hao was feeling smug, he suddenly saw a hundred-meter-long piece of ice in the sky hurtling towards him.
