Chapter 16 Provocation
Five days of cultural classes a week, professional classes on Saturday, evening self-study and competition training on Sunday filled up Lin Qingxu's entire week and even some of his time after school.
Her only time to relax was on the way home from school and during her lunch break.
This does not include the time after returning home in the evening, as that is the time occupied by assigned test papers and sketching homework.
Very tiring. But if she had the chance to choose again, Lin Qingxu thought, she would still choose to sign up for the competition.

Since you've signed up, you should do your best. Instead of just taking up a spot and doing nothing, embarrassing the school out of a momentary anger.
The consequence of being stubborn is severe sleep deprivation.
When Lin Qingxu woke up from his lunch break, the classroom was so noisy that it seemed like a pot of boiling water had exploded.
The back door of the classroom slammed against the wall, and the "dong dong" sound of basketballs bouncing around came closer and closer, mixed with the "squeaking" of sneakers rubbing against the floor.
Lin Qingxu struggled to raise his head from his arms, and accidentally met the eyes of Kan Zhao who was spinning a basketball and just walked to the door.
There were still red marks on her cheeks from the wrinkles of her school uniform cuffs, which were particularly conspicuous against her fair skin.
Kan Zhao was stunned. "Just woke up?"
Lin Qingxu hummed a "hmm" and subconsciously buried her face in her arms. After sleeping for two hours straight, she felt a little sluggish.
"Are you hungry?"
Lin Qingxu wasn't very hungry right now, but he nodded anyway, mainly to distract himself. The next period was physics, and he couldn't afford to be sleepy anymore.
Kan Zhao took out a bag of milk toast from the table, opened the package and handed it to her.
Lin Qingxu subconsciously tore off a piece and handed it to his lips, inertia taking over.
Then I realized belatedly that the other person had just finished physical education class, and bread would be like adding insult to injury for a thirsty person.
When she was about to retract her action, the other party swallowed the thing directly from her hand.
Ruan Yanyan also slept soundly. The two physical education classes per week suited her best. The physical education teacher, understanding the students' hard work, relaxed the rules and didn't check attendance. Except for the occasional physical exam, they were allowed to move freely.
Not to mention that Thursday's classes are connected to lunch break, which is a great time to catch up on some shut-eye for two hours.
Ruan Yanyan stretched and glanced at the clock in front of her. She walked to Lin Qingxu's desk and asked, "Qingxu, do you want to go to the bathroom?"
Lin Qingxu nodded gently: "I'll go get some water."
The water dispenser and toilet are very close to each other, so you can go there together.
Lin Qingxu bent down and searched in her schoolbag, then searched the desk, but found nothing. She asked her deskmate, "Kan Zhao, do you have the box of coffee liquid I bought this morning?"
Kan Zhao was drinking Coke, his sweaty hair sticking to his skin, rising and falling with his Adam's apple: "I just put it in my schoolbag."
Lin Qingxu opened the package and took out a bottle. She took her own glass of water and walked out from the gap between the tables. She lowered her head and casually asked Kan Zhao: "Do you want me to get you some water?"
Water droplets condensed on the wall of the ice cola can dripped onto the back of Kan Zhao's hand, leaving transparent marks on the joints.
Lin Qingxu looked at the can of Coke and felt that he didn't need it, but he still asked out of humanitarianism between classmates.
But Kan Zhao handed her a cup of water and said, "No coffee, I want honey grapefruit tea."
*
Ruan Yanyan had just filled her water cup before lunch, so her cup was still full and she didn't need to pour more water.
The two of them walked to the water dispenser together. Ruan Yanyan went to the bathroom first and told Lin Qingxu that she would come back to see her later.
Lin Qingxu said "hmm", poured out the cold water in Kan Zhao's cup in front of the water dispenser, and rinsed the bottle with water.
Just as I was about to click the red button next to me, someone got there first.
Lin Qingxu glanced sideways and found that they were two men from the next class.
One of them she knew was Xu Yuying.
Xu Yuying's eyes were red and had dark circles under them, making him look even sleepier than her.
The hot water was taken by someone, so Lin Qingxu went to get cold water. Honey grapefruit tea can be brewed with either hot or cold water.
The people next to me were discussing the math test they had just finished, checking the multiple-choice questions, and then discussing the ideas for the last math question.
Ruan Yanyan came back quickly. Seeing Lin Qingxu brewing grapefruit tea, she helped take her other cup, tore open the coffee liquid package, and poured the black liquid into it.
The two people next door jumped from the topic of mathematics to the upcoming competition. The boy asked Xu Yuying about the quota. Xu Yuying lowered his eyes and did not speak, but the boy thought the quota was still his.
Ruan Yanyan was a little surprised when she heard this. She asked Lin Qingxu in confusion: "Aren't those competitions usually attended by you, Qiao Shen, Lulu and the others? Qingxu, you're not participating this time?"
Lin Qingxu put the cap on the bottle and threw the plastic wrapper into the trash can beside him. "I'm participating."
Ruan Yanyan thought her voice was quiet, but in fact the three people around her could hear it. "Then why did he say it was a sure thing?"
"In a dream."
Lin Qingxu's words were indeed rude.
Xu Yuying felt his face burn instantly, a blush spreading from his cheeks to his neck. A thick sense of shame enveloped him, filled with resentment. Didn't Lin Qingxu go to study art? Why was she still competing with him?
Ruan Yanyan also filled the bottle with water and put the cap back on. She asked Xu Yuying's question, "Qingxu, now that you're studying art, are these competitions still useful to you?"
"Not much use."
“Isn’t that a waste of energy?”
"A little."
"Then why did you participate?"
"Maybe you're worried that some people will bring shame to our school?"
It was the first time that Lin Qingxu said such words, and he was not quite used to it.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of Xu Yuying's clenched fist, and suddenly a sense of balance settled in. Finally, a life of sleeping later than a dog and waking up earlier than a chicken had some meaning.
Ruan Yanyan shook the water in the bottle and felt that the tone was familiar, but it was not something Lin Qingxu would say.
But the bell rang and Ruan Yanyan had no time to think too much. For the next English class, she pulled Lin Qingxu and ran to the classroom.
