Chapter 64 Don't Play Stupid
After leaving the court, Lin Qingxu felt unwell. He felt a little dizzy and groggy, thinking it was because he had been too busy and sleep deprived these past few days.
When she returned to her residence, she went to the bedroom, changed her clothes, and fell directly on the bed, falling into a deep sleep.
In the dream, I felt like I was in a furnace and even breathing was difficult.
Someone was calling her.
Lin Qingxu had no choice but to open his eyes.
It was Kan Zhao. He knocked a few times and called to her through the door for dinner.
"Okay." Lin Qingxu got out of bed and put on his shoes, feeling a little dizzy.
Kan Zhao, wearing an apron, was carrying out the cooked soup. Seeing Lin Qingxu approaching, he said, "Go get the bowls and chopsticks."
"good."
When the two passed by, Kan Zhao seemed to sense something. He glanced at her sideways and realized something was wrong.
Lin Qingxu's face flushed. Kan Zhao put down the bowl of soup in his hand and held her face with his hands.
Very hot.
"Lin Xiaoxiao, you have a fever."
Do you have a fever? I think so.
Lin Qingxu's consciousness was hazy and her thoughts were not very clear. She swayed and almost fell, but Kan Zhao quickly caught her.
Kan Zhao grabbed her with his arms and lifted her up sideways. Lin Qingxu's body was burning hot, and her head leaned weakly on his shoulder.
"I'll take you to the hospital."
"No." Lin Qingxu grabbed the clothes on Kan Zhao's chest and refused in a low voice.
The trauma of his childhood in the hospital was truly profound. Because of his weak immune system, Lin Qingxu was often ill, spending much of his time in the hospital. Being frightened could make him sick, as could being underdressed. Of course, Kan Zhao played a significant role in the former.
As she grew older, she was fine, only getting sick once or twice a year. I don't know if it was a childhood illness, but once she got sick, it was uncontrollable and very serious.
Kan Zhao sighed, walked towards the bedroom, and gently placed Lin Qingxu back on the bed. He pulled the quilt over her and wrapped her tightly in it. He then went to the bathroom, wrung out a wet towel, and returned to place it on her forehead.
Lin Qingxu closed her eyes, her brow furrowed, her lips chapped. Kan Zhao stared at her for two seconds, then turned to look in the medicine box, only to find that the fever-reducing medicine had already been used up. He cursed, grabbed his coat, and walked out.
Lin Qingxu fell asleep under the quilt.
She had a dream in which she turned into a tree. She felt a forest on fire and the air was scorching hot.
Someone finally brought in artificial ice to cool down the temperature, but unfortunately the ice grew legs and ran away. Lin Qingxu could only extend her branches to get closer to the ice.
When she woke up again, Kan Zhao was pinching her chin and stuffing pills into her mouth. The bitter taste melted on the tip of her tongue, and Lin Qingxu frowned subconsciously. The next second, a glass of warm water was handed to her lips.
"Lin Xiaoxiao, swallow it."
Lin Qingxu swallowed the medicine obediently. Kan Zhao then let go of his hand, took a forehead thermometer from the side, and took a temperature. It was 38.2 degrees.
Kan Zhao knew Lin Qingxu was a bit stubborn, so he kept a low profile. He chose to compromise: "Then you should get some sleep first. If the temperature doesn't go down, we'll go to the hospital, okay?"
Lin Qingxu looked at him with a pair of eyes, her thoughts were confused, but she nodded and hooked the corner of his clothes: "Kan Zhao, I'm much better now, go and eat."
"knew."
He covered Lin Qingxu with the quilt, cleaned up the remaining debris, and stuck a fever-reducing patch on her forehead. He turned off the light and left the room with the medicine box.
He grabbed a handful of cat food, poured goat milk into the cat bowl, and ate it in a few mouthfuls. It seemed that he was not full, so he rubbed Kan Zhao's trouser legs to continue begging for food.
Kan Zhao scratched its chin and didn't give it much. Acting cute didn't work on him.

Half asleep and half awake, Lin Qingxu felt a cool touch on his face, and he couldn't help but lean towards the source of the cold.
He opened his eyes hazily and called out "Kan Zhao".
"Thirty-seven-eight degrees." Kan Zhao breathed a sigh of relief. At least the temperature had dropped a bit. "Are you thirsty?"
"Um."
Kan Zhao handed her the warm water.
He went out of the bedroom and brought in a bowl of warm century egg and lean meat porridge.
"Eat something?"
Lin Qingxu didn't have much of an appetite, but when she looked up and saw that his eyes were dark blue, she still took the food and ate it.
"Kan Zhao, what time is it now?"
"A little after two."
"It's so late..." In her dream, she could still vaguely hear someone gently opening the door, feel a hand touching her face, and hear the occasional dripping sound of the forehead thermometer.
Lin Qingxu gently pulled Kan Zhao's sleeve and said, "Why don't you go to bed first? I feel much better."
Kan Zhao nodded, helped her lie down, covered her with a quilt, cleaned up the dishes and left the room.
There was only one bowl, so he washed it himself. He heard a sound coming from the distant room, something falling, and a chaotic sound.
The light in the bathroom was on and the door was not closed.
Jin Yuanbao woke up and opened his eyes in the cat's nest, only to see Kan Zhao hurriedly walking past him. He meowed casually and fell asleep again, continuing to eat his castle made of canned goat milk cat food.
After resting, I felt much better, but I still felt a little dizzy. I didn't feel much in bed, but the dizziness was more obvious when I stood up.
Lin Qingxu stood in the bathroom, her mouth still smeared with toothpaste foam. The shadow she had seen during her sudden dizziness had caused her to accidentally sweep a bunch of toiletries onto the floor.
When Lin Qingxu was thinking about how to hide the truth, he looked up and saw Kan Zhao rushing over in the mirror.
"I suddenly remembered that I haven't brushed my teeth yet..." He spat out the last foamy water in his mouth.
Mugs and other bottles and jars were shattered all over the floor. Lin Qingxu didn't know what she was thinking. Perhaps her illness had made her a little sensitive, and she inexplicably felt guilty about doing something wrong. She found a place with less debris and slowly moved them, intending to go outside to get some things to clean up.
"Don't move."
There's so much debris around that it's hard to avoid getting hurt.
Kan Zhao took a deep breath, and his irregular heartbeat made him realize that news of college students dying suddenly in the middle of the night due to stress was not uncommon, and perhaps he would become one of them at some point.
He bent down, put his arm through Lin Qingxu's knees, and picked her up horizontally.
"Are you feeling unwell?" he asked in a low voice.
"No……"
It just feels...
This distance seems too ambiguous...
Never mind... Let's talk about it later...

The disease came on with great force, but it seemed to be just a paper tiger. By the next day, Lin Qingxu only had a slight fever.
Kan Zhao asked for leave for her, and Lin Qingxu slept until the afternoon.
During this time, her temperature was measured again, and Kan Zhao also gave her some medicine. Then Lin Qingxu drifted off to sleep again. When she woke up, she didn't feel as bad as she did the day before, but her head was a little dizzy.
Jin Yuanbao had been waiting at Lin Qingxu's door since early morning. The moment he saw her come out, he no longer cared about the toy in his mouth. He ruthlessly threw down the sea bream doll and circled around Lin Qingxu's feet.
Lin Qingxu was afraid of stepping on it, so he bent down and picked up the gold ingot. Although he knew that human germs could not infect cats, considering that the gold ingot was so small, he handed it to Kan Zhao as a precaution.
Kan Zhao stroked Jin Yuanbao's fur twice and asked Lin Qingxu, "Are you feeling better?"
"Um."
However, Lin Qingxu continued to have a low-grade fever in the next few days. Due to her promise, she had no choice but to follow Kan Zhao's instructions and go to the hospital with him.
The CT scan and blood routine biochemistry results were all normal, and the doctor prescribed some medicine and asked her to get an IV drip first.
He Jia and the others saw that Lin Qingxu had taken several days of leave and asked about her condition.
LQX: [The doctor said it should be fine, and I can just go for a blood test tomorrow.]
However, what Lin Qingxu was more worried about was homework. Everything else was easy to deal with, but after missing so many classes, the daily sketches would probably pile up like a mountain.
He Jia replied: [Sketch? I remember filling in the form that you had submitted it. Youyou and the others didn’t say they would help you draw it…]

These days, Kan Zhaojin has been following the doctor's advice to eat a light diet, and there is not even a trace of chili in the food he cooks.
When Gao Yao heard that Lin Qingxu was ill, she called her in the evening. She asked about her condition and chatted about family matters. Like any other mother, she asked if she was warm, slept well, and didn't want to study too hard.
Lin Qingxu complained to Gao Yao in front of Kan Zhao, saying that he didn't allow her to do this or eat that, and that he was too nosy. Of course, he wasn't really angry, he was just joking.
Gao Yao rarely saw Lin Qingxu so openly showing his emotions, and she found it somewhat amusing. She also spoke a few words on Kan Zhao's behalf: "Kan Zhao is doing this for your own good."
Kan Zhao received support from Ms. Gao Yao and raised his eyebrows complacently.
"The weather is getting colder. You should wear more clothes, okay? You still have a cold. Thanks to Kan Zhao being by your side, are you feeling better now?"
"I'll be fine soon." Lin Qingxu wanted to cough as soon as he opened his mouth, but he held it back to avoid making Gao Luo worry.
"You and Kan Zhao live together, so don't quarrel. Even though Kan Zhao is a little older than you, don't bully him every day."
Bullying Kan Zhao? Lin Qingxu didn't understand why Gao Yao felt this way, as sometimes Kan Zhao was the one who got angry for no reason.
There seemed to be an assistant's voice on the other end of the phone. Gao Luo replied to him a few words, then told Lin Qingxu to tell her if he needed money and to take good care of himself, and then hung up the phone.
In the evening, we sit together on the sofa and watch variety shows.
Jin Yuanbao lay on Lin Qingxu's lap and watched with them. The kitten grew very fast. It could be held in one hand before, but now it has become rounder.
Lin Qingxu picked it up and found that Jin Yuanbao seemed to have gained a lot of weight recently and was a little heavy.
"How much mass is considered heavy for a kitten?"
"Let's check later. Buy a scale at home. I don't think we have one here." Kan Zhao also stroked its fur. "It seems a little fat. How about cutting back on some cat food? It can't eat snacks anyway."
Jin Yuanbao's round eyes opened even wider and he looked at him in disbelief, not understanding how a human with a body temperature of 37 degrees could say such cold words.
Lin Qingxu stroked its ears and stopped teasing it. Suddenly, he remembered what Gao Luo had just said. He casually asked, "Kan Zhao, am I treating you badly? Why does Mom think I'm bullying you?"
"Well, very bad."
Lin Qingxu turned to look at him.
Kan Zhao chuckled and lowered his head to meet her gaze.
"Now that everything else has been resolved, Lin Xiaoxiao, isn't it time for you to consider redefining our relationship?"
"I remember I told you a long time ago that I like you."
Lin Qingxu didn't understand why Kan Zhao suddenly jumped to this topic, there was no logic between them.
She looked away guiltily.
"……ah?"
Kan Zhao imitated her tone and let out an "ah".
"Don't act stupid."
