Chapter 98: The Ending...

Chapter 98: The Ending...

It was almost midnight when the occasional sound of fireworks and firecrackers could be heard outside. It came from far away and then faded away.

The phone screen was lit, and there was a message that Ruan Yanyan had sent an hour or two ago.

[Why bother with him so much? God’s arrangements are the most important!]

Lin Qingxu took off his headphones.

*

Outside, snow was falling. Yicheng is located in the southern part of the country, so it's rare to see snow in winter.

This was the first snow of the year, falling in fine, messy pieces, soaking the balcony railings, which felt a little cold.

When it came into contact with the warmth in my hands, it melted into water, and my palms turned a faint red.

Lin Qingxu measured the height of the guardrail and returned to the bedroom to fetch a chair. With her jumping ability, she probably couldn't make it up.

She had no experience, so she fell rather awkwardly. She brushed off the snow and dust and opened the glass door to Kan Zhao's bedroom.

Actually, it would be more direct to go through Kan Zhao's bedroom door, but I heard Kan Zhao had locked it before.

Lin Qingxu considered what to do if Kan Zhao didn't open the door when she knocked. Although the probability was small, confessing one's feelings was always impulsive.

The room was dimly lit, with only the tiny light from the computer screen.

Kan Zhao had been a troublemaker since childhood, always doing evil things. However, he was often blamed for things that clearly weren't his fault.

Mr. Kan is quite patriarchal and often acts without distinguishing right from wrong.

When Kan Zhaojue was a child, he would often hide in the dark and secretly wipe away his tears, just like he does now.

As I grew older, I stopped being so upset even when I was wronged. When I was unhappy, I would call someone and play with them until dawn.

Kan Zhao and Lin Qingxu met eyes. It was no wonder that he heard the noise even with his headphones on. It was really because the noise outside was too loud.

Qiao Yang yelled at the top of his lungs, "Kan Zhao, why don't you move?! Damn it! Team fight! Damn it! I'll hate you forever!"

After a few seconds, he was silent: "Okay. I'm dead. I hate you."

Kan Zhao took off his headphones and ignored Qiao Yang.

He glanced at Lin Qingxu and raised his eyebrows: "What? Breaking and robbery?"

Lin Qingxu was in a real mess. His body was covered in snow from the window, and his cheeks were dusty. He didn't look like he had just climbed over the wall, but rather like he had just rolled in the snow, his clothes still wet.

Kan Zhao's gaze fell on her hanging hand. There was a long scratch on the palm of her hand, and blood was slowly oozing out, which was particularly glaring on her fair skin.

He frowned, stood up and took out the medicine box from the drawer.

His tone was calm: "Come here."

Lin Qingxu didn't move, instead he hid his hands behind his back. This kind of thing was not important in the current situation.

"Kan Zhao, I have something to tell you..."

Kan Zhao glanced at her and said nothing more. He walked over, held her wrist, and led her to sit down on the bed.

"I know. Give me some time to process it."

Lin Qingxu's fingertips trembled as the cold liquid touched the wound, but she didn't withdraw her hand. She lowered her eyes and looked at Kan Zhao's lowered face, his eyelashes casting a small shadow under the light.

"Lin Xiaoxiao, I don't have to be the first choice."

He suddenly pulled the corners of his mouth, his smile was very faint, but it made people feel inexplicably sad.

The voice was so low that it was almost inaudible. "...But at least, don't make me feel like I have no right to wait."

Lin Qingxu's breathing stagnated and his eyes became slightly hot.

She recalled what Ruan Yanyan had just said to her, and the game.

In the past, she was too timid and cowardly, always looking ahead and behind. After a moment of understanding, she saw how sad it was that Kan Zhao was moving towards her step by step, but was rejected over and over again.

Lin Qingxu looked at Kan Zhao's lowered brows, and suddenly a surge of courage rose in his heart.

Indeed, my mother was right. People always fall and get up again. The road ahead may be unknown, but we should not be discouraged.

At least I won’t have any regrets in the future, nor will I hurt the people who like me.

She suddenly reached out and grabbed Kan Zhao's collar, pulling him towards her.

Kan Zhao was caught off guard and did not anticipate Lin Qingxu's sudden move. She pulled him off balance and he landed on top of her.

He subconsciously supported himself on the bed with his hands, but heard Lin Qingxu whisper in his ear: "I don't want you to wait."

*

The early morning fireworks exploded at exactly twelve o'clock, rising with long tails of flame, and suddenly bursting into a full bloom at the highest point, turning into thousands of tiny specks of light.

The next second, soft lips pressed against his. Kan Zhao's pupils shrank suddenly, and he froze in place.

Lin Qingxu's kiss was awkward but passionate, with a desperate determination, as if he wanted to pour all the unspeakable emotions into this kiss.

In the dim environment, her eyelashes trembled violently in the residual light outside.

She was like a moth that was willing to fly into the fire even though it knew there might be a trap ahead.

"I like you."

The moment the words fell, Lin Qingxu's ears seemed to be filled with the sound of countless fragments of memories exploding.

The sound of my parents' wedding photos falling to the ground, my mother's suppressed sobs, the trembling pleading of the girl downstairs in the dormitory, and the hideous spider-web-like scars on Qiu Lan's back...

All memories and knowledge screamed warnings in my veins.

But everything faded into the background.

Only the sound of the heart beating violently remained.

I like you so much.

-----------------------

The author has something to say: This novel took me a really long time to write. I started writing it in high school, and I wrote a lot on paper. But I tend to quit halfway through, so I just left the manuscript there and moved on to other things.

After college, I was sorting through my things and discovered that pile of manuscripts. I can't help but sigh at how wildly imaginative I was in high school. I wrote so much, not just this one. All together, it's over ten centimeters thick. I dug so many holes back then, and I kept flipping through them, laughing as I went. There were so many melodramatic stories, but they were still full of inspiration and quite interesting.

After that, I saw the book "Only Kiss Me" and I thought, let's give them an ending.

The manuscript is ugly and messy, but I'm super lazy and don't want to type it all, so I use the scanning software and make revisions as I scan. All in all, there are tens of thousands of words.

After that, based on these drafts, I slowly filled in the story of Lin Qingxu and Kan Zhao bit by bit. It's quite strange to say that this book doesn't have a detailed outline. The brief outline is just a general idea, basically writing whatever I dreamed about. But it went surprisingly smoothly, with basically no problems, and I updated it daily until the finale. It's like the content of the novel is happening in another world. I was just responsible for depicting it~

After that, I applied for a visa to Jinjiang. In the beginning, I was quite anxious about the data. There was a period of time when I felt that the writing was really bad. There must be a reason why the data was bad. I also paid someone to give a sharp review (they didn’t post it in the comment section, but just secretly told me where the problem was so that I could see if it could be corrected). However, that reader said that the writing was great, and I was so flattered that I was no longer inferior.

Later, I met you guys slowly.

When I was writing, I actually felt that the first few chapters didn't quite match the latter part, but the ending actually echoed the first chapter. After thinking about it, I decided not to change it. I felt that the pace of the latter part was too slow, and the emotional progression was much worse than the previous part. But thinking about the INFJ personality, I decided to write it down after a long time.

at last.

Thank you, my dears, for accompanying me through these two months.

(ps: There will be bonus extras dropped from time to time, Kan Zhao and Qing Xu’s life continues~

A slight spoiler for [Milk Tea]: The next extra chapter will be about what happens after tonight. It's still a sweet story, and I was laughing the whole time. Unlike the recent struggles, it was really painful. I don't like the abuse at all, but the sudden heel doesn't make sense, so I can only continue writing with a tired heart. (Finished)

The following is a bonus episode about Kan Zhao's memory disorder after the car accident - the 18-year-old Kan Zhao who just heard Lin Qingxu say that he didn't like him at the college entrance examination party woke up and found himself traveling back to a few years later. (Still coding)

Later, extra chapters (related to the plot) and bonus chapters (brain-opening ones) will be dropped from time to time.

After Becoming My Deskmate's Cat

Bright and sunny little sun vs. high-spirited flower (x) gloomy and low-self-esteem puppy (√)

Atheism? Materialism? Upon waking up, Shen Chu Ning was completely stunned. Everything she had believed in was now being overturned right before her eyes.

Because she turned into a cat!

Or a Chinese rural cat that just rests its hands on other people's abdominal muscles.

What was even more outrageous was the man in front of her who was scratching her chin, with eyes so gentle they could drown people, and who kept calling out "Mimi"...

Isn't that the classmate who usually has a cold face and is indifferent to her?!
