Chapter 107 Fierce Mars
Dan Anwen and Gu Zhaodi were eating crayfish. The man wasn't very interested in the crayfish; he was mainly peeling them for the girl.
Sometimes, when the girl peels crayfish for him, he will take a bite.
"Uncle Dan, you should eat too." Gu Zhaodi, wearing disposable gloves, placed the seemingly bland but actually garlicky crayfish into the man's bowl.
She noticed that Uncle Dan had been taking care of her while she ate crayfish, but he hadn't eaten much, so she took the time to peel a few for him.
Dan Anwen gently raised her eyebrows and accepted the child's gift with a smile on her lips.
The two were enjoying their meal when they heard a clear, surprised voice beside them.
"Gu Zhaodi, it really is you! I thought I was seeing things." Gu Fang looked at the girl eating crayfish in front of him with a look of surprise.
When he came in with his classmate, he thought he was seeing things, how could he see his crush eating crayfish near the Third Middle School?
Upon hearing the voice, Gu Zhaodi and Dan Anwen both looked up. Unlike the girl's surprise, the man frowned slightly and looked somewhat unfriendly after seeing who was in front of him, but he quickly concealed it.
Gu Zhaodi looked at Gu Fang in front of her, her tone slightly awkward, "Gu Fang, you're eating here too?"
As she spoke, she stood up, since it was impolite to remain seated.
"Yes, I came to eat with my classmate."
Gu Zhaodi followed Gu Fang's gaze to the dining table not far away, where several male classmates were indeed sitting. When they saw her looking over, the male classmates smiled at her with goodwill, their eyes full of teasing.
Gu Fang's classmates all knew that he liked Gu Zhaodi, and they had given him a lot of advice on how to pursue her.
Before the girl could say anything, the man's deep voice rang out, followed by his tall and noble figure standing up, exuding a strong sense of oppression and scrutiny.
Dan Anwen's tone was relatively gentle, "Little friend, aren't you going to introduce me?"
Gu Zhaodi then realized that she needed to introduce Gu Fang's identity. Ever since Guan Xiang told her that Gu Fang might be interested in her, she had felt awkward and uncomfortable in front of Gu Fang.
“Uncle Dan, this is Gu Fang, the junior high school classmate I told you about.” Gu Zhaodi glanced at the man’s expression and saw that his face was relatively gentle, which made her feel a little relieved.
Dan Anwen's expression remained calm, but the clenched fist he made at the seam of his trousers betrayed his true feelings.
Gu Fang felt a surge of joy when he heard the girl mention him to the man in front of him.
"Gu Fang, this is my uncle."
Gu Zhaodi really didn't know how to introduce the man to her old classmate. After all, he knew about her family situation. If she went into too much detail, it seemed unnecessary given their ordinary classmate relationship. If she gave him too little information, it seemed a bit strange.
Fortunately, Gu Fang didn't ask any more questions, otherwise she would have been struggling with whether or not to explain in detail.
Gu Fang turned her gaze to the dignified and polite man in front of her. His natural elegance and nobility made him clearly an extraordinary person.
He exuded a sense of oppressive power that made people want to stay away, a strange feeling that seemed to be directed at him, leaving him completely bewildered.
"Hello, Uncle," Gu Fang said, extending his palm.
Dan Anwen lowered her eyes slightly, glanced at the delicate hand in front of her, and said in an ambiguous tone, "Hello, it's not convenient to shake hands, I'm sorry."
The man's tone was gentlemanly and polite, his expression gentle and courteous, leaving no room for criticism, but...
Gu Fang glanced at the gloves the man was wearing, smiled shyly, and thought, "If I really want to shake hands with him, what's wrong with taking off my gloves?"
However, given that the imposing man in front of him was the girl's uncle, Gu Fang did not show any disappointment. It was like the feeling of not being approved by the parents of someone you don't like, leaving him with mixed feelings.
The reserved nature of a mature and dignified man and the youthful innocence and vigor of a fiery young man are clearly two extremes, much like the choice between older and younger men in love.
On one side is understated romance and tranquility, on the other is passionate and spirited intensity.
The two stared at each other silently for a few seconds, during which intense sparks flew unnoticed by anyone.
Ultimately, Gu Fang was too inexperienced and immature to withstand the man's oppressive gaze. He looked away first and smiled at Gu Zhaodi, saying, "Then I'll go first. They're still waiting for me."
"Okay." Gu Zhaodi didn't feel the brief exchange between the boy and the man.
After Gu Fang had walked away, Dan Anwen and Gu Zhaodi sat down again.
After sitting down, Dan Anwen seemed rather absent-minded. He looked at the girl with hesitant eyes, unable to suppress his worry and lack of confidence.
The man pursed his thin lips slightly, his eyes lowered slightly to conceal the expression in them, and spoke in a calm tone as if he were asking about the weather, "You're very close to this junior high classmate?"
The girl, who had been eating shrimp with her head down, paused, looked up at the man, and said in a soft voice, "He's just so-so. I've only seen him a few times in Nan'an City."
The girl recalled for a moment that she and Gu Fang had only met twice in Nan'an City, and this was the third time.
Hearing this answer, the man felt a little relieved. The fact that they didn't meet very often meant that the girl wasn't interested in the boy.
Moreover, the chances of developing feelings for each other later are very small. He simply doesn't believe that a mature man who has been with a girl day and night can't win against a young upstart.
Thinking of this, the man couldn't help but chuckle to himself. He never imagined that Dan Anwen would one day act like a young boy, indecisive and anxious about relationships.
He lost his usual composure and calmness, secretly competing with a naive young man.
However, he did it willingly for the sake of the children.
Seeing the man's expression change from serious to beaming, the girl was completely baffled and could only peel a few more garlic-flavored crayfish and put them in his bowl.
Dan Anwen happily ate the shrimp in his bowl, a lazy smile playing on his lips, looking just like someone who had received a rare treasure.
Compared to the man's smug expression, Gu Fang was in a terrible mood.
Although he didn't know what kind of relationship Gu Zhaodi had with this uncle, it didn't stop him from feeling the man's hostility towards him.
That's right, it's hostility.
As he walked back, he felt increasingly uneasy. The man's gaze towards him was clearly wary, and even contained a hint of hostility.
As he pondered, Gu Fang's brow furrowed more and more, and his companion patted him on the shoulder.
"What are you thinking about? The crayfish are already served."
Gu Fang snapped out of his reverie. "I wasn't thinking about anything. Let's eat."
As he spoke, he put on gloves and began peeling shrimp.
His companion glanced at him, then looked at the girl eating shrimp with a big smile not far away, and teased, "Why didn't you invite the girl you like to come and eat with us? Wouldn't that have been a great opportunity to spend time together?"
The group of companions present all knew that Gu Fang liked a female student from Nan'an Middle School. When Gu Fang was about to go over and say hello, they had already teased him about it.
Gu Fang frowned, his gaze lingering on the girl's unadorned face, and asked hesitantly, "If a man is wary and hostile towards you, what would be the reason?"
"What else could it be? Nine times out of ten, someone stole the woman he loved."
Gu lowered his mind to resist the answer, his dark eyes growing even deeper.
After blurting out his thoughts, his companion realized something was off, "The man you're talking about isn't the one sitting across from that girl, is it?"
As soon as they entered the crayfish restaurant, they noticed a man dressed in high-end clothing not far away. His well-tailored suit and elegant demeanor made him stand out from the crowd.
"Hey, what's the relationship between that man and the girl you like?"
The man's striking appearance is mainly due to his sharp eyebrows, high nose bridge, and jawline that is even more defined than his life plan. It's hard to ignore his face; he looks to be only in his early twenties.
Gu Fang pursed his lips. "He's her uncle."
"Oh, it's an uncle! You scared me!" His companion patted his chest. "If it's an uncle, he must have realized you're interested in his kid, so he's warning you."
Gu Fang's bright eyes lit up instantly, unlike their previous dullness. "Is it that obvious that I like her?"
The group of companions at the table nodded in unison. "It's obvious, we can all see the affection in your eyes, especially for a man who looks so experienced."
Gu Fang's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, was slightly relieved. He had been feeling uneasy and had a gut feeling that Gu Zhaodi's uncle was in danger. After what they said, it made sense.
After all, no one wants their child to be dating in high school.
The boy deliberately suppressed another incredible thought in his heart, pretending it didn't exist.
