Chapter 177 Confessing the Relationship
"Who are you trying to fool? At Zhao Zhao's age, it's too early for her to get pregnant, and it's not even certain if it's a girl." Dan's father wasn't going to listen to Dan Anwen's nonsense.
Dan Anwen calmly sipped his tea, gently rubbing his fingertips together before saying, "But my wife can only be a child. All your chances of holding your granddaughter will be with her."
Dan's father's breath hitched; he knew that Dan Anwen's early confession hadn't been anything good.
She wanted to drag him into hiding the truth from his wife, so they would share the responsibility later.
As the saying goes, the law does not punish the masses.
When the father thought of his soft, cuddly granddaughter and how his friends always boasted about their own granddaughters, he finally gritted his teeth and agreed to help him.
"I can only help persuade your mother; I can't do anything else." Dan's father had never lied to Dan's mother in his life, and he would never lie along with Dan Anwen.
Dan Anwen's expression remained indifferent. "I only have one request: please don't cause trouble."
He didn't need his father to persuade his mother; all he needed was for his father to stay out of the way and not stir things up. That was better than anything else.
Upon hearing this, the father's face stiffened. "Get out of here! Just looking at you annoys me."
Dan Anwen remained silent and calmly walked out of the study.
Inside the study, the father stared at the teacup in front of him and sighed deeply.
How come there's a weakness that Dan Anwen has in his hands?
Besides his mother, his only weakness in life is his desire to hold his granddaughter, and only Dan Anwen can help him fulfill this wish at present.
It's still a long way from when Dan Si gets married and has kids. We don't even know if he'll live that long, or if we'll ever see him again.
Thinking of this, Danfu rubbed his temples with a headache.
Dan's father never expected that he had been tricked by Dan Anwen. In his plan, a child would only be born into this world with the consent of the child.

Therefore, having children is something that happens at least after the age of thirty, and Dan Si might get married and have children even earlier.
A week flew by, and with only a few hours left before the family dinner, Gu Ji spent half a day picking out clothes in the dressing room.
"Little one, you haven't decided what to wear yet?" Dan Anwen entered the dressing room, where she had been picking out clothes for over an hour.
Gu Ji looked at the clothes in front of her with frustration. She had already made her choice, but she couldn't calm down. Her mind was filled with thoughts of her mother's reaction after she found out the truth.
Unable to concentrate, she could only keep picking out clothes in the dressing room.
"I've chosen, but I'm so nervous." Gu Ji put down the clothes and snuggled into the man's arms, seeking some comfort.
Dan Anwen embraced her petite body, gently pressing his large hand on her head, his voice so tender it could melt water, "I'm right here with you, don't be afraid. Besides, we have plenty of help."
He knew that the child cared a lot about his mother's feelings. People who are close to you are often the ones who hurt you the most and the ones who warm your heart the most. She didn't want to lose this hard-won family bond.
Gu Ji rested her chin on the man's chest and looked up slightly, "But I'm still very flustered."
"Do you want to take a nap now? If you fall asleep, you won't have to worry." Dan Anwen smiled, his voice warm and deep.
"Now?" Gu Ji glanced at the time; there were still three hours before they had to go to Danyuan.
Dan Anwen picked her up and carried her to the bed, placing her under the covers before lying down himself. He turned to see the girl looking at him with a bewildered expression.
"Go to sleep, I'll sleep with you." Dan Anwen kissed her lips and patted her head.
Gu Ji obediently closed her eyes, her consciousness gradually becoming hazy. She had thought she wouldn't be able to sleep, but unexpectedly, she slept very soundly in the man's warm embrace.
When it was almost time, Dan Anwen woke her up.
Gu Ji's head was spinning, and her sleepy eyes were almost unable to open. The man helped her change her clothes, and she didn't come to her senses until the car was almost at Danyuan.
The man's trick really worked; his head was a little sore from just waking up, so his worries didn't surface.
"Uncle Dan, we're almost there." Gu Ji looked out the car window at the scenery rushing past, getting closer and closer to Dan Garden.
Dan Anwen reached out and pinched her soft cheek, then smiled and said, "Three more minutes."
Gu Ji shook his head, fully waking up, one hand tightly gripping the man's hand, his eyes fixed on the road outside.
"Don't worry, she will bless us." Dan Anwen understood Dan's mother's nature; she wouldn't separate her from the children, but she would inevitably be angry.
He just hopes that the few people in the family who know the situation can help him out, otherwise all his plans will be in vain.
The car drove directly to the front of the villa. Gu Ji took a deep breath facing the villa before placing his hand in the man's palm.
She prayed silently, hoping her grandmother wouldn't be too surprised or angry.
Dan Anwen's dry, large hand gripped his tightly the moment the soft, tender hand reached out to him, as if afraid the person beside him would back down.
The two exchanged a glance before walking toward the villa. The servants were surprised to see them holding hands when they opened the door.
Before he could even fully enter the door, his mother's cheerful voice rang out, "Did Anwen bring his girlfriend?"
The sound grew closer, and Gu Ji gripped the man's hand tighter. Seeing this, Dan An patted her head, his voice reassuring, "Don't worry."
Before the two had even finished changing their shoes, Dan's mother appeared in the entryway.
Seeing that only Dan Anwen and Gu Ji were present, Dan's mother frowned. "Anwen, where's your girlfriend? Is she outside?"
As she spoke, Dan's mother glanced at the door behind the two of them. Apart from the servant who opened the door, there was no one in sight.
Dan Anwen pursed his thin lips slightly, and naturally took Gu Ji's hanging hand, raising it to Dan's mother to indicate, "She's here."
Dan's mother didn't react for a moment, and said in a puzzled tone, "I was asking about your girlfriend, not Zhao Zhao."
"She is my girlfriend." Dan Anwen stared intently at his mother, his face serious.
As soon as he finished speaking, Gu Ji buried his chin in his scarf, lowering his eyes and not daring to look at the expression on his mother's face.
Dan's mother looked slightly dazed, staring blankly at the two people's tightly clasped hands. Fortunately, Dan's father appeared in time and led Dan's mother to sit down on the sofa.
Dan Anwen and Gu Ji exchanged a glance and then followed them into the living room.
As soon as Danmu sat down, it was as if a switch had been flipped, and her tone became serious, "You mean your girlfriend is Zhaozhao, and Zhaozhao's boyfriend is you?"
She felt she needed time to process this sudden news.
"Yes." Dan Anwen replied calmly.
Gu Ji secretly glanced up and saw that Dan's mother was expressionless, staring intently at their clasped hands.
The father and Jing Rou, who were standing nearby, were ready to offer their advice, but to their surprise, the mother just stared at Gu Ji without saying a word.
After a long pause, he finally spoke, "Zhao Zhao, come with me to the study."
