Chapter 192 Mr. Dan, please guide me for the rest of my life.
"Once the child goes in, there's no going back." Dan Anwen held Gu Ji's hand as they stood at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
He planned to ask the girl next to him one last time, afraid that she might regret it later. If she changed her mind now, he would pretend that nothing had happened, but once he went in, she would have no chance to change her mind.
Gu Ji looked up at the man's clothes, every detail revealing his attention and joy.
The man began dressing meticulously early this morning, his bespoke tailored suit completely covering him, revealing well-defined muscles beneath his shirt that sparked endless imagination.
She was meticulous from head to toe, even her hair was carefully styled.
The girl was wearing a white dress, which looked surprisingly harmonious with the man's black suit. The sight of the beautiful girl and the handsome man holding hands in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau was pleasing to the eye.
"Is Mr. Dan scared?" Gu Ji teased him.
Dan Anwen rubbed her fingertips together, but instead of answering Gu Ji's question, she smiled and led her directly into the Civil Affairs Bureau.
He was somewhat afraid, but more than that, he felt nervous and excited, looking forward to the little girl becoming his wife.
Gu Ji was no different; her anxiety was no less than Dan Anwen's. It is only when you care that you feel fear and tension.
Marriage is a sacred and inviolable relationship, and it is a relationship that deserves heartfelt blessings. The staff at the marriage window always had smiles on their faces.
Seeing Dan Anwen and Gu Ji, this good-looking engaged couple, her eyes almost squinted into slits with laughter.
The staff member glanced at the couple's household registration booklets and joked, "So eager! You've just turned twenty and you're already getting your marriage certificate."
Upon hearing this, Gu Ji's small face flushed red, and her charming eyes looked bewildered.
Dan Anwen, on the other hand, was very open and generous, his eyes fixed on Gu Ji, his tone filled with inexplicable doting, "She's too wonderful, I'm afraid someone else will snatch her away, so I have to strike first."
"That's true, there aren't many good girls these days." The staff member smiled and handed the two of them two declarations. "Fill out this first."
The two picked up pens and filled in the statement stroke by stroke, focused and solemn, giving legal recognition to their pure and beautiful love.
Throughout the rest of the process, the two held hands, watching the staff process their application step by step until their marriage certificate was stamped with their seals.
"Wishing you both a happy marriage and a long and happy life together." The staff member smiled and handed the marriage certificate to the couple.
Gu Ji and Dan Anwen exchanged a smile and thanked the staff.
"Why did you take it all? Aren't you going to give me a copy as a keepsake?" As soon as they stepped out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, the man took the marriage certificate from her hand.
"I am yours, so what's more, the marriage certificate? I'll take it back and lock it in a safe; it'll be safer that way." Dan Anwen glanced at the two red books in her palm, and couldn't help but smile.
Gu Ji shook his arm and laughed, "Is this marriage certificate that important that you put it with all your other valuable documents?"
“It’s much more important than the documents. I’ve reinstalled a safe in the study, and this is kept separately in it.” Dan Anwen didn’t think this was childish at all; on the contrary, she took it very seriously.
The new safe had been in his plans all along. As soon as the girl accepted his marriage proposal, he asked Liu Lei to arrange for someone to install it at his home. Now, it's finally not empty anymore.
"You're exaggerating too much." Gu Ji's dimples were faintly visible at the corners of his mouth.
After putting the marriage certificate away, Dan Anwen looked down at Gu Ji and said, "It's no exaggeration, but compared to Mrs. Dan, you are more important."
"Mr. Dan, please guide me for the rest of my life." Gu Ji extended a fair hand to the man.
Dan Anwen smiled slightly, grasped her hand in return, and said with a smile in his voice, "Mrs. Dan, please give me your guidance."
Gu Ji smiled and held Dan Anwen's hand tightly, as if he had grasped the only support he could rely on in this life.
"Let's go back to Danyuan for dinner." Yesterday, Danyuan's mother told them to go back to Danyuan after they got their marriage certificate so she could celebrate with them.
On the bus, Gu Ji thought of a serious problem: she suddenly realized that she had made a mistake by marrying a man.
"Uncle Dan, I think I'm having some regrets," Gu Ji said calmly, startling the man who was driving, who immediately pulled over.
Dan Anwen's eyes clearly showed panic and helplessness as he stared intently at her. "What's wrong? Is there something I did wrong?"
In that one second, he recalled his actions a thousand times.
"No, it's just that I've discovered I won't be able to receive New Year's red envelopes anymore." Gu Ji suppressed a laugh, deliberately avoiding looking into the man's nervous eyes.
Dan Anwen suddenly breathed a sigh of relief, then grabbed the girl's head as if punishing her, pressing his thin lips to her red lips, the light biting motion carrying a clear sense of punishment.
A muffled sound escaped from between their ambiguous lips, "Do you still dare to scare me?"
"Ugh...no..."
It took the man a long time to release her lips, and her moist, swollen lips clearly revealed the crime he had just committed.
Dan Anwen pulled out a tissue to wipe the mess of drool from the girl's face, his voice warm and deep but dangerous, "There won't be any more red envelopes from elders, but from now on, there will be red envelopes from your husband."
At this point, Dan Anwen suddenly stopped what she was doing, her eyes filled with excitement, and said softly, "Now that we're married, what should you call me?"
Gu Ji was on the verge of tears. She had only wanted to tease the man, but she never expected the consequences to be so severe. She had lost both her wife and her money.
"Call...call." Gu Ji didn't dare to call out like a coward, a blush rising on her delicate face, her eyes alluring like autumn waves.
Dan Anwen's tone was calm, yet full of temptation and threat, "Little boy, just say it, I want to hear it."
Under the man's expectant gaze, Gu Ji parted her red lips slightly, "Old..."
Staring into the man's encouraging and expectant eyes, Gu Ji tried and failed, looking at him pitifully, "Uncle Dan, please let me go, I really can't bring myself to call you that."
Dan Anwen didn't force her. Instead, he restarted the car and said slowly, "I'm not in a hurry. You'll definitely be able to call out tonight."
"Ah!" Gu Ji covered her mouth, looking at the man with a horrified expression. She remembered the scene of calling him "brother" last time, and how the initiative was completely in the man's hands that night.
How could she forget this? Tonight is their wedding night; she can't avoid it even if she wants to.
"Uncle Dan, let's talk this over. I'll call now, but tonight it's okay?" Gu Ji looked at the man ingratiatingly, blinking her sincere eyes in an attempt to get him to let her go.
She'd rather call him "husband" now than at night, if she wanted to get out of bed smoothly tomorrow.
"I've changed my mind. I think you'll sound even better when you moan at night." Dan Anwen smiled mischievously, a strange smile playing on his narrow eyes.
Gu Ji had a long face, looking like he was about to die.
Upon hearing this, Dan An laughed and said, "I promise I won't force you tonight; the initiative is in your hands."
He now has to appease the little one so that he doesn't miss out on all the perks tonight.
The naive Gu Ji was not as shrewd as the old fox Dan Anwen. "Uncle Dan, you're not lying to me?"
If she has the initiative, she can do whatever she wants, and she won't be led by the nose by a man. Whether or not she calls him "husband" is up to her.
"Yes, I'm not lying to you." Dan Anwen nodded firmly, his face sincere.
Little did they know that the little white rabbit had already fallen into the clutches of the big bad wolf.
