Chapter 29 Let's Watch the Stars Together

Chapter 29 Let's Watch the Stars Together

"You mean Zhao Zhao is drunk?" Dan Shu asked.

Dan Si nodded firmly; there weren't any empty fruit wine bottles on the table before they started playing the game.

Guan Xiang kept singing up there, so there's only one possibility.

Guan Xiang, who was closest to Gu Zhaodi, tentatively sniffed the girl's scent and indeed found a hint of alcohol.

"Phew, that scared me to death." Guan Xiang patted her heart.

Tang Yaya said, "She got drunk from such a low alcohol content? It seems Zhao Zhao's alcohol tolerance isn't very high."

No one had ever seen someone get drunk from such a small amount of alcohol; they were practically knocked out after just one drink.

The girl didn't know what they were discussing in front of her; she only knew that there were many shadowy figures, and she couldn't see their faces clearly.

The sight of so many people made her already dizzy head spin even more.

Just as Guan Xiang was about to take Gu Zhaodi back to school, the door to the private room was pushed open.

Dan Anwen's long, straight legs appeared before everyone's eyes, and his black casual clothes made his tall and slender figure look even more elegant and upright.

"Uncle, what brings you here?" Dan Si was completely bewildered. He didn't think he had invited his uncle to his birthday party.

"I ran into Guan Xiang and the others earlier, so I came over to check on them." The man's voice was flat, and his expression was indifferent.

Then, his gaze shifted to the girl surrounded by people on the sofa. She was leaning back slightly, her eyes were slightly closed, her expression was blank, and her cheeks were flushed.

Dan Anwen frowned and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong?"

The group exchanged bewildered glances, not wanting to say that Zhao Zhao had mistakenly drunk the fruit wine and ended up drunk after just two bottles.

At this moment, Dan Shu stepped forward and said, "Zhao Zhao drank fruit wine and got drunk."

After saying that, the man's cleavage deepened noticeably, but his tone remained indifferent. "Then you guys continue having fun. I'll take her back to school."

Guan Xiang originally wanted to refuse, but considering Uncle Dan's character and the financial support he had given to Zhao Zhao, she kept quiet.

After all, it's more reliable and trustworthy for an adult to take a drunkard, and the safety factor is also higher.

Everyone except Dan Shu and Tang Ya Ya thought that Uncle Dan was just kindly taking Dan Si's classmate home.

It has to be said that men are really not very sensitive to emotions.

"Then I'll have to trouble you, Uncle."

Dan Shu subtly curled the corners of her lips. Originally, it was just a guess, but now it was confirmed.

Moreover, she was certain that her uncle was only interested in the girl, not in her love. Perhaps her uncle himself hadn't yet realized his feelings for the girl.

Dan Anwen strode across the table, gently picked up the girl, and the girl shifted uncomfortably, letting out a soft murmur.

The sound was drowned out by the music inside the private room, and only the man nearby could hear it.

The man's tall figure froze for a moment, then quickly recovered and carried the girl out of the private room.

He had only taken two steps when he bumped into Shen Jiyang, who was walking towards him. "Third Brother, what's this?"

Shen Jiyang, like a fox, looked Dan Anwen up and down, making Dan Anwen feel a strange sense of guilt. The words spoken in the hall just now seemed to be vivid in his mind.

"Why is the little girl in your arms?" Shen Jiyang asked again.

Dan Anwen ignored him and instead said, "Tell her to call her Zhao Zhao."

The man left those words behind and carefully carried the girl toward the elevator.

Shen Jiyang, who was standing still, was completely bewildered and only reacted after a moment of stunned silence.

As Dan Anwen settled the girl in the back seat and tried to leave, the girl's fingers gripped his sleeve tightly, her fingertips turning slightly pink from the force.

Helpless, the man could only forcefully pull the girl's fingers away, but to his surprise, the girl grabbed his hand directly. Feeling the warmth from his palm, the man was stunned for a moment.

Finally, having no other option, the man could only reason with the girl, his voice gentle, "Little girl, I need to take you back to school now, so could you let go of my hand first?"

After a moment of stalemate, without receiving a reply from the girl, he looked down and saw that she had already fallen into a deep sleep.

Dan Anwen breathed a sigh of relief; there really was nothing he could do about her.

On the way, the man drove steadily, trying his best to keep the girl sleeping soundly. Just as they were about to arrive at the school, the girl woke up groggily.

The man saw the girl rubbing her eyes in the rearview mirror and assumed she had sobered up. He said calmly, "We'll be at school soon."

It's unclear what word triggered Gu Zhaodi, but the girl muttered, "I want to go to the mountaintop to see the stars."

"This guy's clearly still drunk," Dan Anwen thought to himself.

It was already very late. If they went to see the stars now, the school would be closed by the time they got back. The man could only coax her softly, "Little one, how about I take you to the mountaintop to see the stars tomorrow?"

"No, I want to go now." The girl was no longer the obedient and docile person she used to be; she was like a child throwing a tantrum because she couldn't get what she wanted.

Seeing that the man did not agree to her request, the girl sat up straight and stretched her head between the driver's seat and the passenger seat.

Her little face was rosy and pink, her big, watery eyes were wide open, and the longing in her eyes was hard to ignore. She pouted and said, "Go, go."

After she finished speaking, she looked at the man expectantly, her clear eyes filled with tears, as if she would cry the next second if he didn't grant her request.

This was the first time Dan Anwen had ever seen a girl act so coquettishly and unrestrainedly. It struck a chord with him, and a part of his heart softened. It seemed like taking her to the mountaintop to see the stars wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Fearing that the girl's posture was unsafe, the man parked the car on the side of the road, helped the girl sit in the passenger seat, and fastened her seatbelt.

Once everything was ready, the girl remained motionless, staring at the man's handsome face.

"Let's go to the mountaintop and look at the stars now." The man thought the girl wanted a definite answer, which was why she kept looking at him.

To everyone's surprise, the girl smiled innocently, her eyes crinkling with laughter, and continued to look at the man, refusing to shift her gaze even slightly.

Having no other option, Dan Anwen turned the car around and headed towards Wutong Mountain.

Feeling the girl staring at him so intently, the man felt like he couldn't even hold the steering wheel properly, and could only ask softly, "Little girl, why are you staring at me like that?"

The girl tilted her head and thought for a moment, then looked at the man with hazy eyes and said with a hint of alcohol in her voice, "You're good-looking, hehe."

Seeing the girl's infatuated smile, the man felt no annoyance whatsoever; he only found her adorable and genuine.

"Am I being teased?" Dan Anwen wondered uncertainly.

Fortunately, the girl was probably tired of watching and slowly closed her sleepy eyes.

The man slowly drove the car away from the city, winding along the mountain road until he reached the top of the mountain.

Here, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the entire Nan'an City. The neon lights and noise below the mountain gradually subside, and the girl in the passenger seat just begins to wake up.

"Uncle Dan?" Gu Zhaodi's voice was slightly hoarse.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw the man's profile, which was sometimes in the light and sometimes in the shadows. The moonlight that occasionally shone through allowed her to clearly see the man's distinct eyelashes.

How did I get here? The girl looked around and out the car window, only to find herself on a mountaintop.

Dan An, who had been resting with his eyes closed, slowly opened his dark eyes when he heard the girl call his name.

Turning to look at Gu Zhaodi, who was staring blankly outside, he first took a bottle of water from the car and gave it to her, saying, "Let her sober up first."

The girl took the water, blinked, and asked uncertainly, "Am I drunk?"

Seeing the man nod, the girl thought about what had happened before, and it seemed like she had some memory of it.

However, my splitting headache told me that he was telling the truth.

"Then how did we get here?"

The girl's eyes darted around. Could it be that I asked him to come? Please, I hope it's not like that.

To his surprise, the man chuckled softly, his chest heaving noticeably, and asked in a deep voice, "What do you think?"

Okay, she's now absolutely certain that she came here.

The girl's face, which was already flushed from being drunk, turned completely red, the color spreading to behind her ears.

The girl murmured, "Uncle Dan, let's go back."

She was in a very awkward situation and wished she could disappear into a crack in the ground.

"Aren't you going to look at the stars anymore?" the man asked casually, staring at the top of the girl's head.

"ah?"

The girl clearly didn't remember why she came, so the man kindly explained, "You're the one who pestered me to come see the stars. It would be a shame to leave now without seeing them."

With that, the man opened the driver's side door, stepped out gracefully with his long legs, leaned back, and looked at the girl with tender eyes, "Come on down, let's look at the stars together."

The tenderness and doting in the man's eyes captivated the girl, and she got out of the car in a daze.
