Chapter 50: Children Shouldn't Read This

"save......"

Before Guan Xiang could even utter a sound, she was drawn to a hand with clearly defined veins on her wrist—it was Dan Si.

"Zhao Zhao, I'll count to three, and we'll all pull together." Dan Si gritted his teeth, supporting himself on the stone floor with one hand and pulling Guan Xiang with the other.

"good."

"one two three."

With the two of them pulling together, Guan Xiang was quickly pulled up.

Upon arrival, all three of them breathed a sigh of relief.

"Zhao Zhao." Guan Xiang hugged the girl, sat on the ground and wailed, tears and snot streaming down her face, "I almost died, waaaaah."

"It's alright, it's alright." Gu Zhaodi wrapped her bloodied and mangled hands around Guan Xiang and patted her back to comfort her.

Beside them was a rope stained with bright red blood, a constant reminder of the danger they had just experienced.

The girl also seemed to have survived a close call; if you listened carefully, you could hear a tremor in her voice.

"I called Lao Lin and also notified the ambulance," Dan Si said, looking at the two girls sitting on the ground huddled together for warmth.

Yao Xin and Fang Yuan went into the scenic area. He wanted to stay and apologize to Guan Xiang, but unexpectedly, as soon as he entered the bamboo forest, he heard Guan Xiang's cries for help.

Fortunately, he arrived in time. If he had been any slower, the consequences would have been unimaginable. Dan Si felt a sense of relief at having escaped a disaster.

"Let's go outside first," Dan Si said, trying to help the two girls up.

Guan Xiang was sobbing uncontrollably, clutching the girl's clothes tightly, "My legs are weak."

Just as the two were trying to help Guan Xiang up, Lao Lin led several teachers and a group of students into the bamboo grove.

I just heard on the phone that Guan Xiang and Gu Zhaodi almost fell off a cliff, which scared Lao Lin so much that he ran here with all his might.

Seeing the person sitting safely on the ground, Old Lin finally breathed a sigh of relief and almost collapsed to the ground.

"Where are you hurt?" The people around them helped the two girls up and quickly asked.

Guan Xiang was still in shock and kept crying, so the girl had to say, "I cut my hand, but Xiangxiang doesn't know what happened."

"I...I, I'm fine," Guan Xiang said between sobs.

Hearing that the two women were alright, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"Let's go down the mountain to the hospital for a check-up," Old Lin said, still shaken.

Then, Dan Si picked up Guan Xiang, whose legs were weak, and took the lead in walking out of the small bamboo grove.

"Ji Hao, carry Zhao Zhao out." Old Lin thought the girl's legs were also weak, so he asked the class monitor to carry her.

The girl hadn't recovered from the shock of what had just happened. Upon hearing the teacher's words, her body reacted before her mind could process them.

The girl instinctively dodged Ji Hao's hand and quickly waved her hand, saying, "My legs aren't weak, I can walk by myself."

Only then did everyone clearly see the condition of the girl's hands; her hands were almost a bloody mess, with red blood mixed with fragments of hemp rope.

"Let's go down first," Old Lin said.

Central Hospital

The smell of disinfectant filled the girl's nose. Gu Zhaodi was surrounded by a white coat and a sky-blue mask.

As the doctor carefully cleaned the fine threads from her hand, the girl was a little dazed, recalling the actions of her parents earlier.

When they took the cable car down the mountain, Guan's parents rushed to the hospital after being notified by Lao Lin.

Upon learning that the girl had saved their daughter, they repeatedly thanked her, bowing to her repeatedly with great emotion, which the girl could not stop them from doing.

"Uncle and Aunt, Guan Xiang is my good friend. It's the right thing for me to save her," the girl said, pursing her lips.

Guan's mother grabbed the girl, her voice trembling with emotion. "Thank you, thank you so much! You're a great benefactor to our family. If it weren't for you, Xiangxiang would be..."

As long as Guan's mother thought about what Lao Lin had just said, she could imagine the perilous situation they had faced on the cliff edge. If it weren't for this girl, Xiangxiang would probably be in grave danger today.

Seeing the worried and grateful expression on the mother's face, the girl could only comfort her, "Auntie, why don't you go and check on Xiangxiang first?"

Guan Xiang was just taken in for a check-up. They found multiple fractures and cuts on her body in the car, but she was emotionally unstable before, so she couldn't express herself clearly.

"Okay, okay." Guan's mother was helped to the door of the examination room by Guan's father. She stared intently at the door, afraid that if she blinked, something might happen to her daughter.

"Zhao Zhao, let me take you to get your hand bandaged first." Old Lin said with some heartache as he looked at the girl's still bleeding hand.

They are both daughters of the same parents, but their attitudes are completely different.

On the bus, she called the girl's mother using the number the girl had saved as her contact number, only to be told on the other end that she shouldn't look for her even if the girl died out there.

In that instant, she clearly saw a hurt expression flash across the girl's indifferent face, but it was quickly covered up by the girl's cool expression.

The girl gave a soft "hmm" and followed Old Lin to get her bandaged.

"Tear!" The girl inhaled softly, and the pain in her palm instantly swept through her heart. The numbness brought her back to her senses.

The doctor has removed the foreign object from the wound and is preparing for the next step of disinfection.

"Knock knock," someone knocked on the door of the dressing room, and the people inside looked in the direction of the sound.

"Sir, who are you looking for?" Old Lin glanced at the man at the door with a strange look. He was tall and well-dressed, with a cool and noble face, and he was clearly not an ordinary person.

The man said politely, "I'm looking for classmate Gu Zhaodi."

At this moment, Gu Zhaodi looked over in the direction of the voice, "Uncle Dan?"

"Zhao Zhao, do you know him?" Old Lin looked at the girl with shock in his eyes and asked in a low voice.

The girl's voice was soft and sweet, and she parted her lips slightly, "This is Dan Si's uncle."

"So, who are you looking for, Gu Zhaodi?" Old Lin found it strange. Shouldn't Dan Si's uncle be looking for Dan Si? How did he end up here?

Dan Anwen said calmly, "I am also Gu Zhaodi's sponsor."

Only this identity can reassure Lao Lin that he is standing here, and besides, it seems that only this identity is suitable for him.

Old Lin knew the girl was being sponsored to study, but he never expected that the sponsor was Dan Si's uncle.

"Mr. Dan, please stay here with Zhao Zhao for a while. I need to go and take care of some things today." Seeing that the girl had someone to take care of her, Old Lin planned to first report back to the school about today's events.

Dan Anwen said gently, "You go ahead and do your work. I'll take care of things here, Zhao Zhao."

Only after watching Lao Lin leave did the man walk to the girl's side.

A gentle hand patted the top of the girl's head, and a soft voice asked, "Little girl, are you alright?"

The girl's clear eyes were fixed on the man, and she gently shook her head.

The doctor had already begun the next step. The girl instinctively pulled her hand back slightly. Just as she was about to turn around to look at the wound, her vision went completely black.

The girl's slender, pale fingers bent slightly and trembled gently; a warm, dry hand covered her eyes, obscuring her world.

A deep, magnetic voice came from beside him, "Little kids shouldn't look, it'll scare them."

Hearing that she shouldn't be afraid, the girl felt a slight warmth and bittersweetness welling up inside her.

Throughout the entire journey, from the time the situation occurred until now, no one has asked her if she was afraid.

After rescuing Guan Xiang, the girl's fear gradually surfaced, but no one noticed her silently enduring emotions. Unexpectedly, a man easily touched upon them.

She felt a part of her heart quietly collapsing.

The man stared at the girl's bloodied and mangled hand, his dark pupils narrowing as he watched the doctor's every move intently.

While he was in a meeting at the company, he received a call from Dan Si's homeroom teacher, who explained the situation at the mountaintop.

After all, Dan Si eventually pulled Guan Xiang up with him, and given the dangerous nature of his actions, it was necessary to notify his parents.

Dan Anwen's elder brother and sister-in-law went abroad after the Lunar New Year due to a mission, and now Dan Anwen is in charge of Dan Si's various affairs at the school.

When the man heard that the person involved was Guan Xiang, his first thought was whether the girl was also involved. After receiving an affirmative answer, the man left the board members and rushed to the hospital.

"Alright, just be careful to prevent infection from the wound and change the dressing regularly." The doctor wrapped the girl's fair hand with a bandage.

After Dan Anwen moved his hand away, the girl realized that her palm had become a large bump.

"Let's go." The man helped the girl up and led her outside.

Mr. Guan had already booked two VIP wards, and the man took the girl directly to the wards.

Looking at the man who had turned to the side, the girl pursed her lips and asked softly, "Uncle Dan, what brings you here?"

The man lowered his eyes slightly and said gently, "Your teacher called to talk about Dan Si. Knowing you were here, he came to check on you."

The girl was somewhat pleased; after all, someone still cared about her, didn't they?
