Chapter 9 Consolidating Knowledge

Chapter 9 Consolidating Knowledge

"What are you doing?" Dan Si and the others came in, looking at the things on the two tables with blank expressions.

There's a big bag of snacks over here, and a rather cute bear over there.

Yao Xin, being mischievous, grabbed the preserved rose bear on Guan Xiang's table and squeezed it a couple of times.

"Get your hands off me." Guan Xiang slapped the back of his hand.

"Oh." Yao Xin covered her hand, angry but not daring to speak out.

Dan Si glanced at it and said indifferently, "The bear looks alright."

“Right? I think so too,” Guan Xiang said with a look that said, “You know your stuff.”

After everyone had finished joking around, their homeroom teacher, Mr. Lin, came in.

"Everyone, take out your English books." Old Lin stood on the podium and opened the PowerPoint presentation on the screen.

Gu Zhaodi opened the English book and discovered that it was compiled by Nan'an Middle School itself, unlike any other English book in Nan'an City.

After learning that she would be attending high school in Nan'an City, she went to her junior high school English teacher in advance and borrowed high school English textbooks from Nan'an City.

"Xiangxiang, why is this book different from the one in Nan'an City?" Gu Zhaodi asked the girl next to her softly.

"This was compiled by the school itself, and it's priceless." Guan Xiang glanced at the book on the table with a bored expression. "And it changes almost every few months."

Gu Zhaodi was a little confused; this could change at any time!

Guan Xiang quietly sidled up to her and said, "I heard that the English textbooks at Nan'an Middle School are written by the teachers themselves."

"Why?" This piqued the girl's curiosity.

There's a saying that every English teacher at Nan'an Middle School is a PhD who has returned from overseas.

"So you mean this English book is just a piece of waste paper?" The girl stared in disbelief, clearly unable to believe what she was hearing.

"Yes."

Throughout the rest of the English class, Gu Zhaodi felt the magic of the teacher's spoken English; the pure American accent made her feel as if she were in another country.

Old Lin didn't touch the textbook, and she only flipped through two pages of the PPT. You were completely following her pace, like a ship on the sea, rising and falling with the wind.

Gu Zhaodi has good hearing, but sometimes she still can't keep up with Lao Lin's pace of lecturing.

She looked around the class and it seemed that she was the only one who was having some difficulty keeping up.

As soon as get out of class ended, the girl collapsed onto the desk, completely exhausted, as if she had just finished a fierce competition. She remained motionless, her eyes fixed on the blackboard.

It's hard not to notice someone with that utterly hopeless expression.

Guan Xiang was a little surprised to see this scene. Zhao Zhao was someone who never got discouraged even during military training. What happened to her now?

"Zhao Zhao, are you feeling unwell?"

The girl moved her slender neck and said to Guan Xiang in a low voice, "Xiangxiang, English is really hard. In the past, we only had written tests, and the teachers spoke Chinese in class."

"Right now, I feel like my head is going to explode."

Guan Xiang shrugged and comforted her, "It's okay, you'll catch up soon, you'll get used to it."

Gu Zhaodi thought about it and decided that since her original conditions were not as good as others, she would start working hard from now on.

Once she had made up her mind, the girl immediately straightened her back, grabbed her English book from her desk, and began to carefully flip through it, muttering to herself.

"What are you doing?" Guan Xiang looked at the girl as if she had been injected with chicken blood.

"Consolidate your knowledge." That was the four words Guan Xiang was given.

......

That noon, Gu Zhaodi was the only one in the classroom, sitting by the window doing exercises in her book. The only sounds in the classroom were the nib of her pen scratching across the paper and the turning of the pages.

"Is Zhao Di all alone?"

A voice suddenly rang out from the girl's diagonal front, startling her so much that her pen tip left a mark on her notebook.

The girl slowly looked up and saw that it was her chemistry teacher.

"Is there anything I can help you with, teacher?" the girl asked, pursing her lips.

The chemistry teacher hesitated for a moment, "I have to go to a meeting right away. Could you please go to the lab building and get the equipment I need this afternoon?"

"Okay," the girl agreed without hesitation.

"This is a list of equipment. It might be a bit heavy, so you'd better find a classmate to go with you." The chemistry teacher handed the paper to the girl, looking at her helpless appearance, and gave her a word of advice with concern.

"good."

Seeing the chemistry teacher leave, Gu Zhaodi also got up and walked towards the laboratory building.

She didn't wait for her classmates to return before going to get the equipment together.

On the one hand, she was only familiar with Guan Xiang and a few others in the class; on the other hand, she was strong enough to handle tools, after all, farm work wasn't done for nothing.

Along the way, Gu Zhaodi walked briskly. She was feeling a bit tired after studying for so long, so it was a good opportunity to clear her mind.

After finding the equipment the chemistry teacher needed, the girl carried a large box of equipment out of the laboratory building.

To be honest, there were quite a lot of these tools, and they were so heavy that they made the girl's arms red and her fingertips white, but they did not affect the girl's steady steps.

Gu Zhaodi was walking along when a boy in a school uniform walked towards her. He had a handsome face and a well-proportioned figure. The oversized school uniform did not look bulky on him at all.

The boy looked vaguely familiar, and the girl couldn't help but squint.

"Gu Zhaodi, please give me the equipment."

The boy reached out his hand towards her, his knuckles clearly defined, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Do you recognize me?

Perhaps sensing his confusion, the boy smiled and introduced himself, "I'm Ji Hao, the class monitor. The chemistry teacher asked me to help you."

The girl was a little embarrassed and asked what it was like to not know her class monitor.

And the name Ji Hao, I think it's the name of the school heartthrob.

No wonder she didn't recognize him. Ever since she learned that Deng Xixue liked the school heartthrob, she had subconsciously wanted to stay away from this dangerous person to avoid them disrupting her life.

Coming to her senses, Gu Zhaodi shared some of the tools she was holding with him.

After taking it, Ji Hao raised an eyebrow and said gently, "Put everything you're holding up here."

The girl in front of him was short and thin, and the weight seemed to be crushing her.

Gu Zhaodi lowered her eyes slightly and said in a clear voice, "I can carry it, no need."

Hearing the girl's refusal, Ji Hao's smile deepened. This was indeed a rather special girl.

He said clearly, "Alright, give it to me when you can't carry it anymore."

As he spoke, he walked forward.

Gu Zhaodi frowned. This class monitor is really strange. If I can't carry it, I won't force myself. Once I do carry it, I won't give up halfway.

I stopped thinking about it and followed in his footsteps.

The girl doesn't understand the thoughtfulness of a boy; she's definitely a clueless straight woman.

After I told Guan Xiang about this, she said that she hadn't figured out how to handle relationships yet.

Simple acts of help, when viewed by those with ulterior motives, are no longer seen as mutual love and assistance between classmates.

"Xixue, I just saw Ji Hao." The girl who was playing on her phone paused, immediately looked up at Lin Wen who was speaking in front of her.

"What's wrong with Ji Hao?" Deng Xixue asked anxiously, and then tried to get up.

Lin Wen didn't keep them in suspense, "I just saw Ji Hao helping Gu Zhaodi move things in the laboratory building."

Deng Xixue calmed down and casually uttered an "oh".

She didn't want to make such a fuss. Several times when Ji Hao, as the class monitor, helped other girls, she lost control and threw a tantrum, resulting in Ji Hao ignoring her for several days.

Seeing Deng Xixue's nonchalant expression, Lin Wen added fuel to the fire, "The two of them chatted and laughed as they went back to the classroom together."

Sure enough, it was clear that Miss Deng's face suddenly darkened, her brows furrowed, and her face tense.

Everyone knows that Ji Hao is the man Miss Deng has taken a liking to, and ordinary people wouldn't dare to approach him.

Lin Wen, fearing that she hadn't been sufficiently stimulated, slowly added, "Besides, I think Ji Hao is quite enthusiastic."

Deng Xixue clenched her fists, her fingertips turning white, and suddenly stood up, walking out of the classroom.

Seeing this, Lin Wen smiled knowingly. Sure enough, he was simple-minded and impulsive.

If it weren't for her good family background, how could she possibly have a chance to lay a finger on someone like Ji Hao?
