Chapter 97 A Day with Uncle Dan, A Day with the Kids

Chapter 97 A Day with Uncle Dan, A Day with the Kids

Jinshan Villa

After the second day of the Lunar New Year, Dan Anwen took Gu Zhaodi back to Jinshan Villa.

Slender fingers drew back the white gauze curtain, revealing a scene of heavy snow falling in the courtyard.

She had never seen a real snow scene since she was a child. Lin'an City is further south than Nan'an City, and it had never seen snowflakes fall in more than ten years. This was the first time she had ever seen real snowflakes.

The girl immediately opened the bay window, and the biting cold wind blew into the room through the gaps, making her shiver as she wore only a thin nightgown.

The soft fingertips touched the beautifully falling snowflakes in the air, and the cool touch made the fingertips tremble slightly.

Irregularly shaped snowflakes drifted to the girl's palm, only to melt away in an instant from the warmth of her skin, leaving behind a pool of glistening water.

Gu Zhaodi quickly dressed, wrapped herself up, put on a down jacket, and walked out the door.

I happened to run into Dan Anwen in the corridor.

"Little girl, where are you going?" Dan Anwen looked at the girl's fully armed appearance and wondered where she was going so early in the morning.

The girl beamed with a bright smile, her voice filled with surprise and excitement, "Uncle Dan, it's snowing outside, I want to go play in the snow."

The man glanced at the snow-covered scenery outside the window and couldn't help but chuckle. He patted the girl's head and said with a smile, "The snow is too heavy now. Let's wait until we finish breakfast and the snow lightens before we go out."

It doesn't snow in Nan'an City every year. In previous years, the temperature was basically above zero, so there was no heavy snowfall.

The man understands the girl's desire to see snow, but her health should be the priority.

Gu Zhaodi knew that snowflakes felt very cold on her skin, and she agreed to the man's suggestion, but she was still full of anticipation.

After breakfast, I kept staring at the snow outside the window, eagerly waiting for it to stop falling.

The sun gradually appeared in the sky, and only a few snowflakes fell. After a night of wind and snow, the snow on the ground had accumulated to a certain thickness.

Dan Anwen took out snow boots from the shoe cabinet and gestured for the girl to put them on. She had been waiting for this moment for a long time and put on the shoes at the fastest speed she had ever done.

Then she put on the scarf, hat, and gloves that the man brought from upstairs, wrapping her up like a bloated doll, making it difficult for her to move.

Guoguo and Tangtang were also fully armed, wearing thick, festive clothes and four cute little shoes on their feet.

The two dogs were getting used to the little shoes the girl had never worn before, and they were walking in a somewhat uncoordinated way, almost as if they were moving in unison.

Seeing that the girl was wrapped up completely, without missing a single spot, Dan An said calmly, "That's enough, go out now."

As soon as the villa door opened, a cold wind rushed into the girl's face. Fortunately, she was wearing a mask, hat, and earmuffs. The fluffy hat and earmuffs were both in the shape of a yellow Winnie the Pooh.

She was wearing white gloves, and the only thing showing was her round eyes, which were staring longingly at the man. She looked quite adorable.

The man didn't wear much furry clothing; a long black down jacket covered his tall frame, and the only extra item was a gray scarf around his neck.

"Uncle Dan, aren't you cold?" Gu Zhaodi looked at the man's simple attire, which contrasted sharply with her own, who was covered from head to toe except for her eyes.

The man extended his warm, dry hand to her, gesturing for her to shake it.

Although the girl found it strange, she still took off her furry gloves and gently squeezed his large hand with her fair palm.

"Uncle Dan, you're so hot!" The girl couldn't believe it and pinched him again; Uncle Dan's hand was even warmer than hers when she was wearing gloves.

Dan Anwen took the Winnie the Pooh gloves, held her hand and put them on, and said with a smile, "Now you can rest assured, go and play."

The girl nodded and ran into the yard with Guoguo and Tangtang. Tangtang even slipped and fell flat on her face because she wasn't used to the shoes, and started rolling around in the snow, having a great time.

The man looked at the two dogs and one person in the yard who had never seen snow before. His thin lips were slightly pursed, and his eyes were full of doting smiles, like a beautiful scene in the snowy weather.

Gu Zhaodi clenched a small snowball and noticed that moisture was seeping through her gloves, so she took them off when the man wasn't looking.

Aside from the initial bone-chilling cold, my hands were almost numb for the rest of the time.

By the time Dan Anwen noticed that the girl had already taken off her gloves, she had already gotten used to the coolness of the snow.

Seeing the man's dark eyes fixed on her palms, the girl tried to hide her hands behind her back, a fawning smile on her face, "Uncle Dan, don't be angry."

The man remained expressionless, but inwardly he felt a little helpless; he simply couldn't do anything about this child and couldn't bring himself to criticize her.

"Take off your gloves and drink an extra bowl of ginger tea later." Dan Anwen's cold voice rang out, much like the feeling one gets from a snowy, icy place.

Gu Zhaodi dared not argue, and could only frown and say, "Okay, can I still take off my gloves and play in the snow?"

As she spoke, she stared longingly into the man's gentle eyes, just like a little fruit begging for food.

Dan Anwen patted the girl's head helplessly and sighed, "Go ahead and play, but be careful and don't fall."

"Okay." The girl nodded, her eyes sparkling, and turned to plunge into the snow.

Tangtang and Guoguo had gotten used to their shoes in the snow and were having a great time, chasing and playing with each other, leaving a trail of little shoe prints in the white snow.

After playing for a while, Gu Zhaodi had an idea.

"Uncle Dan, let's build a snowman!" The girl looked at the white snow with great interest; she had never built a snowman before.

Dan Anwen curled her thin lips into a smile, her eyes full of indulgence. "Okay."

The two started rolling a snowball on the ground. Fortunately, Aunt Zhang had gone home for the Chinese New Year, and the yard was surrounded by high walls. Otherwise, someone would have seen the prominent head of the Dan Group rolling a snowball on the ground, a sight that would have been unforgettable.

"Guoguo, don't be naughty." The girl stopped what she was doing and looked at Guoguo with a huff.

Guoguo stomped on the snowball she had just rolled and placed aside, crushing it and scattering sparse snow all over the ground.

Guoguo whimpered indignantly, turning her head to look at Tangtang as if to say, "I didn't do it, you've wronged me."

The girl hadn't seen who did it; when she turned her head, she only saw Guoguo standing next to the broken snowball.

Given that Guoguo had done so many bad things in the past, she subconsciously felt that Guoguo was the one who caused the trouble.

Gu Zhaodi knew that Guoguo had a special trait: although she was a bit naughty, she was also very responsible. Now, seeing Guoguo looking at her with a wronged expression and then at Tangtang, she understood what was going on.

"Is it made of candy?" The girl stroked the fruit's fur.

Guoguo nodded with a pitiful look, and there were even a hint of tears in her eyes.

The girl said with a mix of heartache and apology, "Guoguo, I'm sorry, I wronged you."

Guoguo patted the girl's bent knees with its big paws in a friendly manner, indicating that it had forgiven her.

After apologizing to Guoguo, Gu Zhaodi turned her gaze to Tangtang. Tangtang now looked just like the mischievous Guoguo of the past, as if she had entered another cycle.

Under Tangtang's dark gaze, the girl announced that her little meat strips for today were canceled.

After finally managing to make two decent-looking snowmen, Dan Anwen brought over some small decorations for the girl to adorn them.

"Mission accomplished." The girl stood up, patted the snow off her hands, and stared at the two half-meter-tall snowmen on the ground with her clear eyes.

The girl had Guoguo and Tangtang sit next to the snowman, took a picture of the four of them, and then posted it on her WeChat Moments with the caption "A day with Uncle Dan".

During the first month of the lunar calendar, almost everyone is playing on their phones or grabbing red envelopes. Within minutes, the girl's WeChat Moments post received likes and comments.

Seeing the girl's phone ringing incessantly, Dan Anwen glanced at it curiously, only to find the screen filled with a group of people making fun of her.

Guan Xiang: Oh wow, Uncle Dan can even build snowmen?

Dan Shu: This is truly something I've never seen before!

Dan Si: It shattered my eyeballs.

Danmu: I have never seen a snowman made of ice.

Yao Xin: These two snowmen are quite cute.

What followed was a screen full of "666" comments.

The man didn't quite understand the meaning of the number 6, but he could roughly guess that it meant something very powerful.

"Little friend, send me a copy of this photo," the man said, glancing at the caption on his WeChat Moments with his deep phoenix eyes.

Gu Zhaodi was confused, but she still sent it to the man. The next second, his caption and picture appeared in her WeChat Moments.

The format is the same as the girl's: "A Day with the Kids".
