Chapter 92 A Great Wizard Meets a Lesser Wizard

Chapter 92 A Great Wizard Meets a Lesser Wizard

The four people who had left Danmu's sight split into two groups and would reunite later.

The person who raised the issue was Dan Shu, mainly because she no longer wanted to watch the two of them, completely unaware of the situation, secretly showing affection in front of her.

She was afraid of developing diabetes due to excessive sugar intake.

After Dan Shu and Dan Si walked away, Gu Zhaodi and Dan Anwen strolled around leisurely with their shopping cart.

Dan Anwen carried snacks the whole way, her shopping cart filled with all the snacks girls like to eat.

When the girl looked down, she discovered that the snacks in the shopping cart were piled up like a small hill.

"Uncle Dan, it seems like you bought a bit too much."

Apart from the few things that Danmu had just put in the car, the rest of the items were all snacks that suited her taste.

Potato chips, preserved plums, chocolate chips, nuts...

Men almost always take the lead in snacking while watching TV shows in their spare time.

Dan Anwen glanced at it indifferently, "It's not much. If you can't finish it, give it to Dan Si and the others."

As he spoke, he continued to fill his shopping cart with the snacks that still tasted good from the shelf.

Dan Shu and Dan Si: So we're the dumping ground?

Gu Zhaodi didn't say anything more. She would probably eat mostly snacks while watching TV, since she liked to eat snacks while watching dramas.

Suddenly, the girl caught a glimpse of the banana chips on the top shelf out of the corner of her eye. She had never forgotten the crispy and crunchy taste after just one bite.

The banana chips were too high for the girl to reach, so she stood on tiptoe and tried to pull them down.

In a second or two, she concluded that she wouldn't be able to get the banana chips unless she grew another ten centimeters.

The girl glanced at the man who was picking something up diagonally in front of her, took a small step forward, tugged at the man's gray coat with her slender white fingers, and looked up at the man expectantly.

Dan Anwen paused in his hand as he picked up something, and when he looked down, he met the girl's bright, sparkling eyes, and was momentarily stunned.

"Uncle Dan?" The girl looked at the man's blank stare and couldn't help but feel a little strange.

The girl's questioning voice brought the man back to his senses. He regained his usual gentle demeanor and parted his thin lips slightly, "What's wrong, little one?"

The girl pointed with her slender finger to the banana chips on the shelf behind her, "I want to eat those, but I can't reach them."

After saying that, Weiwei felt a little embarrassed because she wasn't tall enough, so she had to ask a man for help.

Dan Anwen secretly rubbed his fingertips together, then reached out and grabbed five large bags.

The girl stared in disbelief at the scene. Uncle Dan was really crazy; he took so much just because she said she wanted to eat it.

He only took two packs of snacks each time.

"Is there anything else you'd like to eat? I'll get it for you," Dan Anwen's deep voice sounded in the girl's ear.

"good."

When they returned to the group after shopping around, the man's shopping cart had the most items, a whole cart full of snacks.

Dan Si stared blankly at the snack cart in front of him, then looked at his own shopping cart; it was nothing compared to the snack cart.

If he had known his uncle would shop so recklessly, he should have taken more too, missing a golden opportunity to openly enjoy some snacks.

Although Danmu turns a blind eye to junk food during the Lunar New Year, it is within reasonable limits.

"Anwen, are you bringing the whole supermarket home?" Dan's mother asked with a hint of surprise. She had never seen Dan Anwen buy so many snacks before.

The girl was actually a little embarrassed, as if there was a bit too much.

She was out of her mind just now, and she said it was okay with almost anything the man picked up. Before she knew it, the shopping cart was full.

Dan Anwen's expression was indifferent, making it impossible to discern his true feelings. "We'll finish it eventually."

Dan's mother didn't say anything more. She guessed that Dan Anwen had spoiled Zhao Zhao and bought the food for Zhao Zhao to try.

Thinking about this, Dan's mother suddenly felt that the possibility of Dan Anwen getting married and having children was unlikely, and she might be more interested in raising a teenager.

Finally, Dan Anwen left the supermarket carrying two large bags of snacks.

Ms. Dan thought she wouldn't buy much, so she didn't bring her maid with her. Fortunately, the supermarket staff were able to deliver the large items to her door.

Dan Si took the initiative to buy the snacks that he and Dan Shu had bought.

"Uncle Dan, let me carry one of your bags for you." Gu Zhaodi noticed that the shopping bag's rope had made his hands red from the tightness.

Looking at the little girl's well-behaved expression, Dan Anwen had the urge to pinch her soft cheeks, but she simply didn't have the time.

"No need, this is nothing heavy," the man said casually.

Standing to the side, Dan's mother also said, "Zhao Zhao, just let An Wen take it. As a man of the Dan family, you should be aware of how to pamper your daughter."

In the Dan family, women are almost never allowed to carry or move things; this is a gentlemanly etiquette ingrained in the bones of the Dan family men.

Dan's mother was spoiled by Dan's father all her life. Even Dan Anwen, with his aloof and noble personality, would take the initiative to help the ladies of the Dan family carry things.

After hearing this, Gu Zhaodi showed no intention of helping the man anymore, but she still glanced at his slender and well-proportioned fingers from time to time.

It always feels like a waste to see someone who signs contracts worth hundreds of billions carrying a simple supermarket shopping bag.

While the girl was lamenting that the man's hands were tangled in two plastic bags, Dan Si looked like a pitiful child, even a little aggrieved.

Why doesn't anyone ask me if I'm tired?

Dan Shu, this little girl, didn't act like a caring older sister towards her younger brother at all; she made me take a big bag of all kinds of yogurt.

Dan Shu: You know I'm your older sister now? Why didn't you remember that when you were calling me by my name so disrespectfully?

Dan Shu noticed Dan Si's utterly dejected look, raised an eyebrow and smiled gently, "Dan Si, are you tired?"

Dan Si shook his head immediately, as if he had seen a ghost.

When did she become so kind and concerned about him? Something was definitely amiss. Thinking of this, Dan Si was relieved that he shook his head quickly.

Dan Shu looked helpless. She had just been thinking that if Dan Si was tired, she would help him carry a bag.

However, seeing his terrified and refusal expression, Dan Shu could only sigh: It seems that Dan Si is not so fortunate.

Dan Si: It's better not to have such good fortune; there might be a backup plan.

When Dan Shu and Dan Si returned to Danyuan, they didn't even have lunch and went straight back to their room to catch up on sleep.

After finishing her meal, Gu Zhaodi did some of the exercises she had brought and also previewed the material for the next semester.

When Dan Anwen wasn't paying attention, Dan's mother slipped into the study on the second floor.

"Grandma, what do you want to talk to me about?" Gu Zhaodi asked, noticing her mother's hesitant expression.

When Dan's mother came in just now, she was stammering and kept asking about Dan's uncle's recent situation.

Mother Dan got back to the main point, "Zhao Zhao, I want you to ask your Uncle Dan if he's interested in dating anyone lately."

Originally, Dan's mother was thinking of asking Dan Anwen directly, but thinking back to his previous answers to her, which were all things like unwillingness and lack of interest, she hesitated.

Dan's mother knew that if she asked again this time, the result would be the same.

They were all just giving her perfunctory answers; she couldn't get a single useful piece of information from them in half a day.

However, Anwen dotes on Zhaozhao, so he might tell Zhaozhao his true feelings and thoughts.

"Huh?" Gu Zhaodi was stunned, and a feeling she couldn't quite put her finger on flashed through her mind, but it was too quick for her to catch.

After a long pause, under the hopeful gaze of her mother, the girl nodded in agreement, somewhat bewildered.

After her mother left the study, the girl remained seated in a daze.

It was only then that she realized that Uncle Dan was already twenty-six years old, the age when he should be getting married and having children. She just didn't know what kind of person his future wife would be.

Thinking of this, the girl's heart inexplicably clenched, and a feeling of bitterness welled up in her heart.

Her mind was filled with images of her future wife, and she didn't pay any attention to her inexplicable physical reaction.

She might be a gentle and charming woman, or she might be a cheerful and interesting woman like my aunt.

Wait a minute, she doesn't seem to have considered whether Uncle Dan's wife would like her presence. After all, some people might mind if their husbands were raising a half-grown child with no blood relation to them.

If Uncle Dan's wife doesn't like her, she can actually move out, after all, she's almost an adult.

Now that she's grown up, she'll have the ability to repay Uncle Dan, and he'll surely be pleased.

Gu Zhaodi shook her head, clearing her mind of all distractions. What was all this nonsense? Why think so much? Uncle Dan's wife was probably somewhere in the world right now.

She dismissed her wandering thoughts and bent down to do her homework again, but something kept nagging at her, and eventually her state of mind changed.
