Chapter 12 The Goal of This Life

(twelve)

"Junior, junior, are you alright?" "Junior, are you feeling unwell?" "Junior, let me take you to the school doctor!" Their voices were filled with anxiety and worry. Amidst the concerned voices of a group of senior students, Ye Wenyu pulled her thoughts, which had been drifting away like a kite, back from her memories of her past life.

She looked up, staring at the registration form she had been clutching for so long. It was wrinkled and sweaty from being held so tightly. She glanced at the cashier waiting to pay, and a senior student said to her, "You haven't said a word for a while, and you look pale. I'm worried you might have heatstroke. Junior, let me take you to the school doctor." He then reached out a hand to support her.

Ye Wenyu, who had no money to pay tuition and was looking to get out of her predicament, pretended to be very weak. She put the form in her bag and said to the staff in charge of new student registration and payment, "I'm not feeling well. I'll go to the school hospital first and pay later when I feel better."

The others didn't suspect anything and immediately nodded in agreement with concern.

With the help of her senior, Ye Wenyu left the freshman registration area. As she walked back from the queue, she glanced around and realized that while she was still stunned, a long line of people had already formed behind her to register. They were all parents with their children, their faces beaming with joy, their pockets bulging, having brought enough money.

The contrast between the two situations makes me feel helpless and miserable.

She was panicking. Without tuition fees, how could she continue her studies at this university? If she couldn't even afford the accommodation fees, the school probably wouldn't accept her. What should she do? She needed to think of a solution as soon as possible!

Thinking of this, Ye Wenyu felt as if her heart was being fried in oil.

Unaware of her inner thoughts, the senior continued nagging, "Junior, the hospital is not far away, we'll be there soon, hang in there."

Ye Wenyu suddenly remembered that there was an unfamiliar senior student beside her. She stopped and looked at him. This senior student was good-looking and very enthusiastic towards her. Looking at his simple clothes and shoes, she had developed the ability to judge people based on her past life's experience of wealth. This senior student definitely didn't have enough money to pay her tuition. He was probably from an ordinary family. Besides, she didn't even know his name. How could she have the nerve to ask him for money? Sigh, she had to think of another way.

Ye Wenyu wanted to find her dormitory so she could be alone and think of a solution. So, she smiled slightly and said tactfully to the boy standing in front of her, "Senior, thank you. I feel better now. I'd like to go to my dormitory."

The senior student immediately said, "I'll go with you."

Ye Wenyu glanced at him and knew what he was thinking. This senior was probably too eager to find a girlfriend, so he was trying his best to impress her.

Ye Wenyu remembered her goal in this life: to find her Wen-gege and make up for the mistakes of her previous life. Therefore, she had no intention of developing any relationship with other boys. So, Ye Wenyu politely said, "I just want to be alone. How about this, senior, leave me your phone number, and I'll call you if I need anything." This was also to make it easier for the other party to save face.

The senior student had no choice but to nod, quickly leave his name and phone number, and then reluctantly leave.

After her senior left, Ye Wenyu was left alone on the tree-lined avenue. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, rallied her spirits, and carried her two suitcases back to her dormitory.

She was a freshman, and logically, without a senior student to guide her, she would have a hard time finding her dormitory. However, she was reborn, so she found her dormitory easily with the help of her memories from her previous life.

Her roommates hadn't arrived yet. This dormitory was a four-person room. Ye Wenyu put down her suitcase. Because of the heavy burden of tuition and living expenses, which weighed on her mind like a boulder, she didn't unpack. She found a bed and plopped down on it.

What to do, what to do? The most urgent thing right now is to pay the tuition fee!

The cicadas in the trees outside were chirping desperately, as if they knew Ye Wenyu's anxiety and pain. Listening to the hysterical chirping, all Ye Wenyu could hear were the words "no money - no money -". She wished she could chase them all away.

She figured the only way out right now was to contact the school, find her homeroom teacher or principal, and see if she could apply for a tuition waiver.

With that in mind, she took out her old phone and started searching for information about "Q University tuition waiver eligibility" on the web. After studying it for a while, she found that Q University does seem to have a tuition waiver benefit for freshmen, but there are not many spots available, only one per freshman class.

Ye Wenyu's eyes lit up, and she felt a glimmer of hope, deciding to give it a try.
