Chapter 28 Louis Koo, Unremarkable

(28)

"Do you have another class next period?" Cai Wenchuan asked Ye Wenyu with concern.

After Wen Yu finished laughing, she shook her head.

The large classroom was quiet, with neat desks, chalk marks on the books that hadn't been wiped clean, and golden sunlight streaming in through the window—everything was so romantic and beautiful.

Ye Wenyu was deeply grateful to God for giving her a second chance at life.

Cai Wenchuan checked the time and said to her, "I don't have class either. Let's go for a walk around."

Ye Wenyu nodded. Thinking of seeing her Wen-gege again, her heart felt as sweet as if she had eaten candy, and it was as if beautiful music was playing in her ears.

The two walked out of the teaching building. It was already autumn outside; the ginkgo leaves, like golden armor, fell haphazardly to the ground, bathing the entire world in a golden hue. The autumn breeze carried the fragrance of distant fields, intoxicating the senses. The warm sunlight shone on them as they strolled slowly through the ginkgo grove. They looked at each other, needing no words, both feeling a deep sense of happiness.

The air seemed to shimmer with sugar because of their sweetness. Ye Wenyu's heart, filled with joy, was almost overflowing like spring water.

Wen Yu thought to herself, "So this is what it means to have mutual affection. It's not about any interests or benefits. It's just simple: I like you, and you like me. It's so wonderful."

In her previous life, she was truly blind and foolish to think she was being clever by taking a shortcut and choosing to be with Lin Tingfeng, thus missing out on the Wen-gege who had been so good to her since childhood.

In this life, she must cherish it. However, she never expected that Brother Wen would be such a famous professor at Q University at such a young age, so popular with girls that he was the most handsome professor on campus. Judging from his class today, he was simply a heartthrob.

She suddenly remembered her previous life.

Memories flooded back to her like a tidal wave, almost suffocating her, and her once joyful heart plummeted to rock bottom.

In her previous life, she reunited with Cai Wenchuan when she was a sophomore in college. At that time, she was already with Lin Tingfeng. Because she was with Lin Tingfeng, he often took her to various high-end social occasions and traveled all over the world in private jets. She rarely stayed on the Q University campus, which delayed her reunion with Brother Wen.

I vaguely remember that I reunited with Cai Wenchuan at a family dinner in the Lin family. Cai Wenchuan recognized her and learned that she was no longer attending classes at Q University and that she was with Lin Tingfeng. He was heartbroken and repeatedly urged her to come to her senses, break off her relationship with Lin Tingfeng, and return to the university campus. He spoke earnestly, like a parent seeing their child go astray, and he criticized and educated her like the strictest headmaster.

At that time, Ye Wenyu was blinded by the wealthy life that Lin Tingfeng brought her, and became immersed in it. She became a golden girl who only knew how to travel around the world and shop, indulging in a life of luxury and debauchery. She had no respect for poor schoolteacher, nor could she return to the simple life of a poor female student or listen to the pedantic bookworm. Therefore, she was very disgusted with Cai Wenchuan and ran away with an excuse. Later, Cai Wenchuan tried to find her many times, hoping to persuade her to wake up, but she would not give him a chance to meet, and she would not even answer his calls.

Later, thinking about this, Ye Wenyu's vision went black, and she felt as if a thousand arrows were piercing her heart. She put her hands behind her back, clenching them into fists out of guilt and remorse.

"Xiaoyu, I was sent to study in Canada by the school, so I haven't been able to see you. You won't blame me, will you?" Cai Wenchuan glanced at the girl beside him, afraid that she would be angry, so he hurriedly explained.

He was a head taller than her, standing in front of her with his head down, looking at her intently.

The girl in front of him was wearing a white sweater and blue jeans. Her long, flowing black hair cascaded gently over her shoulders, and she had tucked it behind her ears. She wore a light blue face mask, and her large, bright eyes sparkled like autumn water. She wore black canvas shoes and carried a white eco-friendly canvas bag on her shoulder. She looked every bit the student—simple yet beautiful, youthful and gentle. She was exactly how he had imagined Xiao Wenyu growing up, day and night, in his endless longing. She looked exactly like his ideal.

Whenever I see her, my heart is gently stirred, and I feel happy and at peace.

Hearing Cai Wenchuan's explanation, Ye Wenyu finally pulled her thoughts back from their wanderings. She suppressed her surging pain, forced a smile, turned to look at him, and said, "I was also busy with military training the past month."

Cai Wenchuan nodded, looked at her face, which was still as white as a magnolia flower, and smiled, "After a month of military training, you haven't gotten tanned at all." He reached out, wanting to touch her face, but was afraid of scaring her, so he restrained himself and slowly lowered his hand.

Ye Wenyu laughed and said, "Really? That's great! I'm afraid I'm darker than you because you're so fair-skinned."

Cai Wenchuan blushed, and his neck felt a little hot. Well, he was truly a rare man with fair skin. From childhood to adulthood, he was always praised for being as fair as a girl.

Ye Wenyu said, "Many of the girls in our class fell in love with the instructor. They cried their eyes out the day he left."

Cai Wenchuan immediately tensed up, looking at Ye Wenyu and asking, "And you, do you like the instructor?" He was thinking that he hadn't confessed yet, and he wondered if the instructor would win him over so quickly. His heart pounded wildly with nervousness.

Ye Wenyu looked at him with a smile.

Cai Wenyu felt his earlobes getting hot and his breathing becoming rapid. He said anxiously, "Actually, girls should focus on their studies when they first enter university. Also, there are plenty of excellent boys out there. You need to compare them before deciding whether or not to date someone."
