Chapter 480 Facing Everything

(479)

Ye Wenyu's nose tingled, her eyes reddened, and her large, watery eyes resembled precious rubies. Lin Tingfeng seemed to love her, but if he loved her, why hadn't he divorced her? He wasn't a good person. If he were, he wouldn't treat his own brother so cruelly—

She slowly closed her phone and looked around. The bus station was the most chaotic place in the city, like a pot of boiling porridge. People of all kinds gathered there, each with different purposes, heading to different cities. Their faces were different, their luggage was different, and people from all walks of life mingled in the bus station, making the air polluted.

Ye Wenyu thought painfully that life is probably like a bus station. All people, whether they meet or part, are only together for a short time. They are destined to meet, but they are not destined to meet again.

Or rather, life is a journey without a guide; you never know where the next stop will be.

Furthermore, Lin Tingfeng's obsessive search, being somewhat exaggerated, appears neurotic and inexplicably frightening.

Ye Wenyu couldn't help but recall when they first met, how he had gone to great lengths to trick her into his hands.

It seems that he no longer treats people with a sincere and honest heart, only with scheming.

He was constantly weaving a web of schemes, and she was like a pitiful little flying insect, no matter how she tried to escape, she was always in the center of his web.

So, it's time to let go.

Thinking of this, Ye Wenyu composed herself and looked at the exit of the bus station. She thought to herself, Cai Wenchuan is right. She can't go on like this anymore. She can't be like a timid rabbit, only knowing how to run away. She must bravely face all the problems.

Life's journey is fraught with peril, like walking on a knife's edge, so one must be extremely careful.

Therefore, she calmed herself down, looked at her phone, and planned her actions.

A few minutes later, she called her mother to let her know she was safe. Zhang Susu's worried voice came through: "That person called me. He said he couldn't find you and asked if you were with me, so I was worried about you and called you. Xiaoyu, did you two have a fight?" Her mother's voice trembled slightly with tension, like a spider's web in the wind.

Ye Wenyu immediately lied and said, "Mom, no, we didn't argue, we're fine." Because Lin Tingfeng had called her mother, her impression of him had worsened.

Zhang Susu was relieved and immediately said she was going out to buy groceries because Uncle Wang's two sons were home for the holidays, and then hung up the phone.

Ye Wenyu checked her phone again and called her university teachers and classmates to tell them that she was absent from class today because she was sick, and that she would be in class on time tomorrow. Only then were her teachers and classmates relieved.

After finishing all that, she looked at Lin Tingfeng's number, mustered up her courage, and dialed it. She had put facing Lin Tingfeng last because she was most afraid of facing him, but now that all the other issues were resolved, she had to bite the bullet and face him.

The call connected quickly, as if he had been waiting for her call 24/7. Lin Tingfeng's voice came through, a little hoarse: "Xiaoyu, where are you? What happened?" His voice was full of tension, fear, anxiety, and unease. Ye Wenyu had never seen Lin Tingfeng so flustered and confused.

She was quite surprised.

It seems she really is very important to him.

Ye Wenyu raised her head and looked around. Where was she? What had happened? Could she tell him that she had discovered he had imprisoned Lin Tingxuan for two years and that she was currently at the bus station in Q City? No, no, if she told the truth, Lin Tingfeng would definitely try every means to cover up his crimes in order to keep her.

He may truly love her, but being regarded as the possession of a cunning, cold-blooded, and vicious person will only put him in greater danger.

Therefore, rather than revealing the truth, she hesitated for a moment before saying into the phone, "Nothing happened, I'm at a classmate's house."

She moved further into the corner to avoid Lin Tingfeng hearing the noise from the bus station and noticing anything unusual.

Lin Tingfeng breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing her answer, but he quickly became alert again and asked her, "Why didn't you come back? Where are you? I'll come pick you up." His tone was still commanding.

Ye Wenyu was stunned, a nameless fear rising in her heart, as if she could never escape his clutches. She composed herself and said to him as calmly as possible, "No need. I don't want to go home today, Tingfeng. So many things have happened, I want to calm down. How about this, give me two days. I will meet with you when I have thought it through."

When Lin Tingfeng heard her say that, he knew something must have happened. A chill slowly crept up his spine, and his heart clenched. He knew that something terrible had happened, and it was a big deal. He wished he could reach out from his phone and pull Ye Wenyu back to his side.

For the three years they were together, she was like a bird temporarily perched on his shoulder, always wanting to escape his side because of her pride and self-esteem.

Now, it seems she has made a decision: she must escape from him.

Is the only way to keep her alive to clip her wings?

Only now did he realize that he couldn't lose her. Losing her would be like a fish out of water, and his life would lose all meaning.

She was his beloved, the salt of his world.

Lin Tingfeng gripped his phone so tightly that he almost deformed the steel casing. Before he could say anything more, Ye Wenyu had already hung up.

Lin Tingfeng stood there blankly, like a clay sculpture, Ye Wenyu's words echoing in his mind: "How about this, give me two days. Once I've thought it through, I'll meet with you." Give her two days, and then he would receive a result, and he already intuitively knew that the result would not be good for him.

How could they be so passive?!

What should he do? Lin Tingfeng's hands trembled, his heart burning like a raging fire.

Ye Wenyu hung up the phone, worried that Cai Wenchuan would wait too long, so she immediately put her phone in her handbag and hurriedly went to find Cai Wenchuan.

When she walked up to him, Cai Wenchuan had already bought bus tickets and was queuing at the bus entrance with both of their luggage.

Cai Wenchuan had been anxiously looking around, but when he saw her appear, he breathed a sigh of relief and smiled reproachfully at her, saying, "Where did you go? I tried calling you, but the line was busy. The train is about to leave. I was thinking that if you didn't come to find me soon, I would have to come to you."

Ye Wenyu smiled and obediently stood behind him, following him step by step like a tail, moving slowly with the group.
