Lee Sung-hwan + Jung Eun-chae (Part 4) [Bonus Chapter]

Lee Sung-hwan + Jung Eun-chae (Part 4)

When his phone beeped, Lee Sung-hwan was sitting in front of his computer looking at photos of himself and Jung Eun-chae sent by his assistant. Some of these photos would be used as promotional pictures for their engagement ceremony, so the publicity team needed to get his opinion.

Lee Sung-hwan picked up his phone and saw a message from Jung Eun-chae: "What is Sung-hwan oppa doing?"

"Choosing promotional photos for the engagement ceremony."

"Our photos? Can I choose them together?"

Li Shenghuan pushed the mouse aside, and the computer screen stopped on a photo.

The photos taken that day included formal shots as well as candid snapshots taken by the photographer. And what's currently displayed on the screen is a candid photo.

The background is the garden of a hotel owned by the ST Group. It was probably during a break between photo shoots, because neither of the two people in the photo are looking at the camera, and the composition of the photo is not very good.

But he could clearly see the contents of the photo. He and Jung Eun-chae were standing in the corner of the photo. He was holding a white rose and handing it to Jung Eun-chae, while she reached out to take the flower and looked up at him with a smile.

Lee Sung-hwan couldn't remember what had happened, nor did he know why he had given flowers to Jung Eun-chae. If he hadn't seen this photo, he wouldn't have even known he could smile like that.

But in the photo, he is clearly smiling broadly, with his eyes even crinkling.

"Then I'll send you the photos." After typing on his phone, Li Shenghuan was about to pick up the mouse again to use the computer to send the photos to Zheng Encai.

"Can't I go and choose photos with Brother Shenghuan?"

Lee Sung-hwan glanced at the message that popped up on his phone again, and he could even picture Jung Eun-chae's slightly aggrieved expression as she curled up the corners of her mouth.

The hand reaching for the mouse was withdrawn again. Li Shenghuan thought for a moment, then asked her on his phone, "Where are you?"

"at home."

"I'll have the driver pick you up."

"Sung-hwan oppa, can you come pick me up yourself?" After sending this message, Jung Eun-chae sent an adorable bunny emoji.

Oh.

Li Shenghuan snorted and tossed his phone aside, no longer replying to messages. This Zheng Encai really has a lot of demands.

However, forty minutes later, Zheng Encai heard a knock on the door from the maid. "Second Miss, Mr. Li Shenghuan has arrived."

Jung Eun-chae laughed and jumped out of bed, running barefoot out of the room. She ran halfway down the stairs, then leaned on the handrail to look at Lee Sung-hwan, who was sitting in the living room talking and drinking tea with Park Geun-hye.

"Brother Shenghuan, wait for me for ten minutes."

Li Shenghuan looked in the direction of the sound and almost burst out laughing at the person hanging on the stairs. It really was a fake engagement arrangement. Otherwise, what wealthy heiress would appear before her fiancé looking like this?

However, his good manners allowed him to hold back. He nodded slightly to Zheng Encai, who then turned and quickly ran back upstairs.

“Eun-chae is such an inconsiderate child. Please don’t mind, Mr. Sung-hwan.” Park Geun-hye took a small sip of tea, put the cup back on the table, and spoke again: “Actually, both families would prefer that you and Eun-ah…”

“Madam.” Before Park Geun-hye could finish speaking, Lee Sung-hwan interrupted her, “I am in love with Miss Eun-chae.”

Jung Eun-chae ran back to her room and saw herself in the mirror: she was wearing a long, loose white nightgown, with messy, unruly hair and prominent dark circles under her eyes.

Oh well, Li Shenghuan won't give her a second glance just because she's beautiful, or a third because she's ugly. Let it be.

Jung Eun-chae quickly washed her face, applied lotion, combed her hair, changed into a T-shirt and shorts, and hurriedly ran downstairs. She meant ten minutes.

She took Li Shenghuan's hand, smiling happily. "I'm going out with Shenghuan-gege."

Lee Sung-hwan did not pull his hand away, but instead bowed politely to Park Geun-hye in the gesture of holding hands to say goodbye.

They claim to everyone that they fell in love at first sight and that they love each other, but if he immediately pulls his hand away when she takes his, others can immediately tell that they are lying.

The two walked hand in hand to the car, and only then did Lee Sung-hwan pull his hand away to open the passenger door for Jung Eun-chae.

Twenty minutes later, Jung Eun-ah came downstairs.

"Where is Brother Shenghuan?"

Park Geun-hye said in an icy tone, "I took that girl out."

"She went out? How could that be? Wasn't that girl sleeping?"

When Jung Eun-ah heard the maid knocking on Jung Eun-chae's door, she was already up and putting on makeup. Hearing that Lee Sung-hwan had arrived, she quickened her pace, but by the time she finished and changed her clothes and went downstairs, Lee Sung-hwan had already taken Jung Eun-chae out.

Park Geun-hye glanced at Jung Eun-ah, who was impeccably made up and dressed. She wondered what was wrong with Lee Sung-hwan's eyes; why would he reject a wealthy young lady like Eun-ah and instead prefer that disheveled and ill-mannered girl?

*

Lee Sung-hwan took Jung Eun-chae directly back to his office.

He pointed to the sofa in the center of the office. "Sit down, I'll bring the computer over."

Jung Eun-chae looked around and exclaimed, "Sung-hwan's office is so big!"

"Here you go." Li Shenghuan placed the laptop on the table in front of Zheng Encai, handed her the mouse, and then sat down on the sofa next to her.

Jung Eun-chae leaned forward, holding the mouse and flipping through the photos one by one, then turned to Lee Sung-hwan and asked, "This one?"

"This one?" Li Shenghuan repeated uncertainly.

Because Jung Eun-chae chose that candid photo with a poor composition and image.

"Yes. Because Shenghuan looks really good smiling in this photo."

Li Shenghuan looked at the screen and nodded slightly. "Okay."

He knew that Jung Eun-chae was looking at him intently, but he felt he shouldn't meet her gaze.

Perhaps it was because she grew up in the United States, but the way she looked at people was always so intense that it made his heart beat faster, so he was a little afraid to meet her gaze.

Jung Eun-chae handed the mouse to Lee Sung-hwan. "Sung-hwan oppa, you can flip through it."

Her arms weren't as long as Li Shenghuan's, so it was quite strenuous for her to bend over and operate the mouse while sitting on the sofa. Therefore, it would be better to let Li Shenghuan do this task.

Seeing that Lee Sung-hwan had taken the mouse, Jung Eun-chae turned around, grabbed a sofa cushion, threw it at her feet, and then slid down the edge of the sofa, sitting on the carpet with her back against it.

This angle is perfect for looking at the computer; you don't have to bend over, and you can even lean against something.

Li Shenghuan glanced at her, said nothing, but simply adjusted the computer screen downwards slightly so that she could see it more clearly from her angle.

After flipping through a few photos, Li Shenghuan felt Zheng Encai lean against his lap. He looked down and saw that Zheng Encai had fallen asleep, her body tilted to one side, her head resting on his thigh.

How tired was she? It was almost ten o'clock when he went to find her, but she didn't seem to be up yet. Now, she had only come to pick out a few photos with him and had already fallen asleep again.

The secretary knocked and entered, placing two cups of coffee on the table. She tried to steal a glance at the two people's intimate actions, but was met with a glare from Li Shenghuan. The secretary quickly bowed and left the office.

Lee Sung-hwan moved his legs, wanting to get out of Jung Eun-chae's control. If she really wanted to sleep, he could lend her the sofa.

But the moment he moved, Jung Eun-chae's hands reached up to him. She sat on the floor, her head resting on his lap, her hands wrapped around his calves. Half-asleep, she mumbled, "Don't move."

After that, Li Shenghuan really didn't dare to move.

Even when his assistant came in to deliver the documents, he was extremely cautious, handing them to Li Shenghuan without daring to look up. But when Li Shenghuan finished signing and handed them back to him, he received a cold command: "Don't come in again."

"Yes, Executive Director." The assistant quickly retreated.

Zheng Encai didn't wake up until after 2 PM. She stretched out her arms and yawned, then stopped moving, as if she suddenly realized she was in an unfamiliar environment. She withdrew her arms and turned to look at Li Shenghuan, who was massaging her legs beside her.

Oh, I remember now, she was in Li Shenghuan's office.

"What's wrong with Brother Shenghuan?"

My legs are numb.

"I'll massage you," Zheng Encai said, then pounded her two small fists on the surface. "What time is it?"

Li Shenghuan glanced at his watch. "2:10 PM."

"So late? No wonder I woke up hungry."

Upon hearing this, Lee Sung-hwan's furrowed brows, which had been furrowed because his legs had gone numb from being slept in, immediately relaxed. This Jung Eun-chae really could eat and sleep a lot.

The numbness in his legs had subsided, and Li Shenghuan got up from the sofa: "Let's go. Let's go eat."

Jung Eun-chae also stood up from the ground. "Should I wash my face and put on makeup? Otherwise, I'll embarrass Seong-hwan oppa."

"No need." Li Shenghuan said and walked straight towards the door.

Young girls, even without makeup, have a fresh and vibrant look. He also thought that Jung Eun-chae was prettier than those girls who used makeup to make themselves look like an oil painting.

Jung Eun-chae skipped after him and grabbed his arm before Lee Sung-hwan could open the door. "Sung-hwan oppa, don't you think I look good even without makeup?"

"Stop fooling around." Li Shenghuan pulled his arm away. "Don't you remember what I told you yesterday?"

Jung Eun-chae shook her head, "I don't remember when I'm hungry."

*

The next day, Jung Eun-chae called Lee Sung-hwan again, asking him to come to her house. Lee Sung-hwan said he would arrange for a driver, but Jung Eun-chae on the other end of the phone was being coquettish and cute, insisting that Lee Sung-hwan go in person.

Li Shenghuan sighed helplessly and obediently drove to pick him up.

They hadn't communicated in detail beforehand, and if he'd known it would be this troublesome, he probably wouldn't have agreed to cooperate with her in the first place. But now that things have come to this, there's no going back. He can only hope the election ends quickly and Jung Eun-chae returns to the United States soon.

The car had only been driving for ten minutes when Jung Eun-chae said, "Just drop me off at the subway station ahead."

Li Shenghuan turned to look at her. "Where are you going?"

What he really wanted to ask was: Aren't you coming to my office today? Then why do you insist that I come pick you up?

"I'm going out to take care of some things," Jung Eun-chae replied, then smiled as if she could read his mind, "I just wanted to show off our love in front of others. After all, not everyone can have such a handsome Seong-hwan oppa."

Lee Sung-hwan parked his car in front of the subway station. After Jung Eun-chae smiled and waved goodbye to him, Lee Sung-hwan drove his car onto the road.

He saw in the rearview mirror that Jung Eun-chae seemed to have met up with a boy who was already waiting at the entrance, and the two walked into the subway station while talking.

No wonder she put on makeup today, clipped her hair to her loose braid, and wore a very ladylike floral dress. It turns out she was out on a date with a boy.

It seems that she doesn't disregard her image, but rather she doesn't care when she's with him, or perhaps she feels there's no need to? After all, they're just business partners.

But for some reason, he suddenly felt a little annoyed.

With a loud bang, Li Shenghuan's car collided with a car that was turning in front of him. Looking in the rearview mirror again, Zheng Encai and the boy had already disappeared in front of the subway station.

The man from the car that was hit walked over and yelled at Li Shenghuan without any politeness, "How do you drive?"

Li Shenghuan, his face cold, slammed his fist on the steering wheel. The loud, piercing horn startled the person standing in front of the car.

"What are you doing? Just because you're rich doesn't mean you're superior."

"Yes. Rich people are amazing."

After Li Shenghuan finished speaking, he picked up his phone and called his assistant: "I've been in a car accident at the intersection in front of XX subway station. You come and handle it."

"Yes. Please wait a moment, I will send a car to pick you up right away."

"No need. I'll take the subway back."

After saying that, Li Shenghuan hung up the phone, abandoned his car and the shouting man behind him, and strode towards the subway station.
