Chapter 11 The Feng family has something special.
In the side hall, Lan Li still wanted to watch the play, but she had to leave early due to unforeseen circumstances.
Yun Jin kept staring at the time on her phone, Liu Zhuang stared blankly out the window, and Hua Cheng looked around at this and that, silently remaining silent.
Five minutes later, Yun Jin kicked him.
Hua Cheng immediately got up and walked out.
Once he left, the air in the side hall began to circulate, and Liu Zhuang, who had been pretending to be in a daze, stopped pretending.
"Are you really annoyed with him right now?" he asked.
Yun Jin: "Yes."
He's so seriously ill, yet he doesn't rest properly and just tries to scheme all day long. It's really annoying to think about.
"Then why didn't you object in the first place?" Liu Zhuang asked, puzzled. "If you had clearly objected, they certainly wouldn't have dared to act on their own."
Although Yun Jin was the biggest beneficiary of Hua Cheng and Feng Wan's ordeal, she was capable of controlling the overall situation, so why would she care about what they gained by sacrificing their health?
If it's not rare, why not oppose it from the beginning?
Faced with Liu Zhuang's doubts, Yun Jin lowered her eyes: "A pregnant woman about to give birth and a terminally ill patient about to die are both only thinking about doing something for me. What can I do but satisfy them? If I really object, I'm afraid they will live with resentment and die with regrets."
Liu Zhuang thought of Hua Cheng's illness and fell silent.
The side hall became quiet again, as did the Feng family study.
Feng He stared at Feng Wan as if he'd seen a ghost. A few seconds later, he realized he really couldn't get his assets back. In a fit of rage, he rushed up to her and raised his hand to slap her.
"Uncle Feng!"
Hua Cheng's voice suddenly rang out, and Feng Heyang's hand, which was in mid-air, froze. He lowered it with a livid face.
Hua Cheng smiled and gestured for Feng Wan to go out first.
Feng Wan glanced at him, turned and left, making sure to close the door behind her.
Only Feng He and Hua Cheng remained in the large study. Feng He tried his best to maintain his last shred of dignity, but anger still seeped out from every pore.
"Uncle Feng, are you still angry?"
Feng He sneered: "You are not the same person you used to be. How could I dare to be angry with you?"
"Alright, Uncle Feng, the outcome is decided. You should take it easy," Hua Cheng walked around to face him and casually leaned against the Zi Ye Xiao Tan bookshelf. "Don't bother with someone who's about to die like me."
Feng He opened his mouth, feeling even more aggrieved.
Hua Cheng put his hands in his pockets and leaned his head forward: "How about you beat me up to vent your anger?"
"No way, if I really hit you, wouldn't Yun Jin fight me to the death?" Feng He refused irritably.
Hua Cheng didn't deny it: "Then what do you suggest we do?"
what to do?
What else can we do now that things have come to this?
Feng He snorted coldly, and after a long while, he couldn't help but ask again, "The child really isn't yours?"
Hua Cheng laughed: "It's really not mine."
Feng He took a deep breath and said sarcastically, "After you die, there won't even be anyone to break the ground and smash the pot."
Hua Cheng nodded: "That's right, after death there won't even be anyone to break the ground and smash the pot."
In the corridor just a door away, Feng Wan stood alone for a while before slowly walking forward, supporting her back.
This corridor is very long, connecting the interior and the garden. The first half is a deep Chinese-style interior porch, but after a turn, it opens up to a bright and sunny view full of greenery.
Yun Jin sat in the pavilion at the end of the corridor, with a pot of tea and two plates of Chinese pastries in front of her.
Upon seeing her, Feng Wan's lips immediately curved into a shy smile: "Sister."
"Slow down," Yun Jin reminded her. Feng Wan immediately slowed her pace, walked the last section of the corridor, and came to her: "Sister."
Yun Jin: "Did Feng He give you any trouble?"
"No." Feng Wan sat obediently and took the tea that she was poured for herself.
Pregnant women shouldn't drink tea, but my sister poured it for me, so it's okay for me to drink a little.
She lowered her head and took a sip. The cool, slightly sour taste instantly filled her mouth. Feng Wan blinked and looked at Yun Jin curiously.
"This is lemon mint water, which is safe for pregnant women to drink," Yun Jin explained.
A faint blush rose to Feng Wan's face. After finishing her drink, she handed the cup to her, saying, "I want more."
"You like it that much?" Yun Jin smiled faintly.
Feng Wan's eyes sparkled: "Yes, I like it very much."
"Although pregnant women can drink it, they shouldn't drink too much." Yun Jin said this, but still poured her another cup.
Pale yellow water slowly poured into a beautiful white porcelain cup, a gentle breeze blowing, the air filled with the refreshing feeling of late summer and early autumn.
Feng Wan took the cup again, held it in her hands for a while, and then mustered up her courage to look at Yun Jin: "That day, Feng He brought me a shirt with lipstick smeared on it, saying it belonged to President Hua."
“Yes, the lipstick is mine.” Yun Jin nodded.
Feng Wan chuckled, a sly glint in her eyes: "I know, I recognize all of my sister's shades."
A smile appeared on Yun Jin's lips.
“But I don’t understand why he did this,” Feng Wan said softly.
Yun Jin's expression softened: "It's probably because we held him up for too long before, and he got a little impatient, so he came up with this idea."
During that time, she would go back to 12 years ago every night to find Hua Yu. If Hua Cheng went home after get off work as usual, he would easily discover her secret.
So after thinking it over, she sent a message to Feng Wan.
Then Feng Wan was hospitalized.
Feng He was overly concerned about her pregnancy and would go to the hospital to be with her every night. In order not to arouse Feng He's suspicion, Hua Cheng could only go to the hospital on time as well.
With a little more manipulation, Feng Wan could decide when to let him go and when he could leave.
This is why Yun Jin was able to accurately predict when he would arrive home during that period and travel back in time before he arrived.
Although this tactic is very effective, Huacheng certainly won't let itself be led by the nose forever.
Sure enough, a few days later, he put on lipstick on his collar, which made Feng He suddenly feel a sense of crisis. Feng He took the initiative to ask him not to see Feng Wan again, and he naturally regained his freedom.
Just thinking about that morning when Hua Cheng took her lipstick and smeared it on his collar in a smug way, Yun Jin felt an itch to punch him.
A gentle autumn breeze rustled the slender bamboo on either side of the pavilion.
Seeing that Yun Jin was lost in thought, Feng Wan did not disturb her, but silently poured her a cup of warm tea.
Hearing the clear sound of water, Yun Jin came back to her senses and looked at Feng Wan's gentle eyes: "I asked you before what excuse you used to be admitted to the hospital, but you wouldn't tell me. Can you tell me now?"
Upon hearing this, Feng Wan glanced around and deliberately half-covered her lips: "I'm stuffed."
Yun Jin paused, then asked, "...Hmm?"
Feng Wan winked at her.
Yun Jin came to her senses, both amused and exasperated: "Hua Cheng believed it? He didn't suspect anything?"
“He won’t suspect anything,” Feng Wan said with a hint of smugness in her voice.
Yun Jin: "Why?"
Because she said she was full from eating scallion pancakes, Hua Cheng only thought that she was jealous because he could buy scallion pancakes for his sister, but she couldn't, since she was easily jealous of him.
Feng Wan didn't want to tell her sister the truth, but she also didn't want to lie to her sister, so she could only give a vague answer: "It's a secret."
Yun Jin stopped asking questions and picked up a piece of pastry to savor it.
Her movements were subtle and pleasing to the eye. Feng Wan stared at her for a few seconds and whispered, "Sister, it seems you've never asked me who the father of my child is."
Just as she never asked Yun Jin where she went or what she did on those nights when she held Hua Cheng back.
“Because it’s not important,” Yun Jin said casually. “If it were important, you would have told me long ago.”
Feng Wan paused for a second, then chuckled softly, "That's true."
After finishing her last cup of tea, Yun Jin glanced at the time and said, "I have an appointment this afternoon, so I have to go now."
"Okay, take care on your way, sister." Feng Wan held onto the table and was about to stand up.
Yun Jin pressed down on her shoulder, indicating that she didn't need to get up: "What are your plans next?"
Feng Wan paused, then obediently replied, "I'm going on maternity leave to have a baby."
"And after you give birth?" Yun Jin asked again.
Feng Wan remained silent.
Her goal for a long time was to get back the money Feng He owed her mother. Now that she had achieved her goal, she really didn't know what to do after giving birth.
"If you'd like, come back and be my secretary," Yun Jin suggested, pointing her in the right direction.
Feng Wan's eyes lit up: "Is that okay?"
"If you'd like," Yun Jin chuckled.
Feng Wan immediately nodded: "I'm willing!"
Yun Jin smiled, waved, and left.
As Feng Wan watched her retreating figure, she suddenly remembered the day Feng He brought Zheng Feifei and her son home.
The weather was just as nice that day. She had a big fight with Feng He, who slapped her and kicked her out of the house.
It was her older sister who took her in.
Later, her mother left the house with nothing, and it was her older sister who gave them some money so they could settle down.
Later, when her mother fell ill and went through the funeral, she went abroad to study and worked at Yuncheng. At every important juncture in her life, her older sister would appear. Her older sister was the person she cared about most in the world, so she was determined to help her sister gain absolute control of Yuncheng.
Feng Wan looked down at her belly, her eyes filled with love.
This child was born out of an accident.
She and her partner did not take proper precautions, and she didn't find out she was pregnant until a month later.
At first, she was determined not to have the child, but during a medical check-up in the port city, she accidentally found out that she was pregnant with a daughter... Yes, she was pregnant with a daughter.
She also lied to Feng He about this matter.
She didn't sleep a wink all night after finding out it was a girl.
The child's father is tall, handsome, and emotionally stable. In previous conversations, I learned that there are many people in his family who are over ninety years old, indicating that he has longevity genes.
He was really a good person, so Feng Wan decided to block him and keep the child.
The day after she decided to keep the child, she learned about Hua Cheng's illness and what he was going to do, which led to the series of collaborations that followed.
Recalling Feng He's ashen face just now, a slight smile appeared on Feng Wan's lips.
"You and Hua Cheng tricked your own father, aren't you proud of yourself?"
An annoying voice suddenly rang out, and the smile on Feng Wan's lips vanished like the tide.
Feng Che ignored her cold expression and sat down directly in the spot where Yun Jin had just been sitting.
Their eyes met, and Feng Che saw her furrowed brows and couldn't help but laugh: "You've won a great victory, why aren't you happy?"
“I thought you didn’t know about this.” Feng Wan held her teacup and took a small sip.
Feng He and his wife cherished their only son like a treasure, and didn't want him to see anything dirty or smelly. Even when they were confronting each other in the side hall just now, they made sure to lure Feng Che away beforehand.
Unfortunately, their son did not seem to grow up to be the innocent and pure person they had hoped for.
Feng Che leaned back in his chair with an indifferent expression: "With such a commotion you've made, it's hard for anyone not to know."
Feng Wan stared at him for a moment, then put down her cup and turned to leave.
"You really think you're flawless?"
Feng Che's lazy voice sounded from behind her. Feng Wan stopped and looked at him again.
After shedding the innocent facade, the eighteen-year-old boy's eyes and brows become sharp.
Feng Che slowly stood up, like a newly grown leopard, and walked gracefully to Feng Wan. He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Didn't you notice? The way you look at Yun Jin is exactly the same as mine."
Would someone with eyes like that have a child with Yun Jin's man?
Hearing Feng Che's confident tone, Feng Wan glanced at her adopted younger brother and asked, "Since you figured it out a long time ago, why didn't you tell your parents?"
Feng Che straightened up and suddenly smiled brightly: "Because the ultimate beneficiary of this is Yun Jin, of course I can't hold her back."
Feng Wan stared at him for a long time before commenting, "A madman."
Three meters away, in another pavilion hidden by bamboo groves.
Liu Zhuang strained his ears through the gaps between the bamboo poles, behaving like a child: "What are they saying? I can't hear them."
"You can go over and listen," Hua Cheng said listlessly.
He had just come out of Fenghe's study when Liu Zhuang dragged him here. He thought there was something important to say, but it turned out he was just eavesdropping on two kids chatting.
“That won’t do. I’m an elder, after all,” Liu Zhuang wiped his face and continued staring at the other side. “I knew before that the Feng family’s son had ill intentions towards Yun Jin, but I didn’t expect that the Feng family’s daughter also had feelings for Yun Jin… The Feng family’s feng shui is something else.”
While sending a message to Yun Jin, Hua Cheng casually remarked, "The two of them are different."
"How is it different?" Liu Zhuang asked curiously.
Hua Cheng: "Feng Che likes Yun Jin, but Feng Wan... is more like a believer in Yun Jin."
Liu Zhuang thought for a moment and then honestly said, "I didn't understand."
Hua Cheng looked up and said, "Feng Wan has always felt that her sister Yun should be like an emperor, surrounded by three thousand handsome men and admired by all ages. She is very dissatisfied with the fact that I have monopolized Yun Jin's favor."
Liu Zhuang sat up straight silently: "...Old Feng's feng shui is indeed something special."
Hua Cheng chuckled and turned to leave.
"Where are you going?" Liu Zhuang called out to him.
Hua Cheng waved his phone; it showed the location sent by Yun Jin.
"To pick up my wife."
