Chapter 21 Pervert
On her way to the airport, Yun Jin briefly responded to her friends' concerns, held a short online meeting with the company's public relations department, and finally tossed her phone aside, closed her eyes, and started to catch up on sleep.
Feng Che sat down next to her and secretly took off his coat. Just as he was about to cover her with it, he heard Xiao Zhou cough lightly.
He looked ahead, puzzled. Xiao Zhou respectfully reminded him, "Young Master Feng, the temperature inside the car is just right. There's no need to cover President Yun with a blanket."
Feng Che blinked, covered Yun Jin with the clothes, and then suddenly smiled brightly: "Then please trouble Assistant Zhou to lower the temperature by two degrees."
Xiao Zhou: "..."
For the first time in my life, I was rendered speechless by a teenager.
Yun Jin felt a little hot in her sleep, and she frowned and stirred. Xiao Zhou quickly turned down the temperature to make sure she could sleep comfortably.
We arrived at the airport in silence, and as soon as we entered the departure hall, we ran into Liu Zhuang, who was waiting there.
"Director Liu."
"Brother Liu."
Xiao Zhou and Feng Che greeted each other politely.
Liu Zhuang nodded to them and walked straight to Yun Jin.
“I knew you replied so early because you had to catch a flight, the eight o’clock one, right? Let’s go.” Liu Zhuang said, taking Yun Jin’s handbag away.
Yun Jin chuckled: "You're going too?"
"Nonsense, I have to kill him myself," Liu Zhuang said angrily.
Yun Jin pondered for a moment, then turned to Xiao Zhou: "Since Fatty is going with me, you don't need to go. Contact me anytime if there's anything going on at the company."
"Okay, Mr. Yun," Xiao Zhou replied.
Yun Jin then looked at Feng Che.
Feng Che immediately looked at her pitifully: "Sister..."
Yun Jin pinched the bridge of her nose: "You have to stay close to me and not run around."
Hua Cheng and Feng Wan have already swindled Feng He out of everything. If anything were to happen to his only precious son while he's with her, Feng He would probably go crazy.
Feng Che hadn't considered what his biological father would do. When he heard Yun Jin say that he would always follow her, he immediately smiled, revealing a row of neat little teeth: "Okay!"
Liu Zhuang, who was standing next to him, snorted coldly.
After everything was agreed upon, the newly formed trio boarded the plane directly through the VIP channel.
The ticket was booked in a hurry, and there was no WiFi on the plane. The three-hour flight was equivalent to being out of contact. As expected, when Yun Jin got off the plane, she received a bunch of greetings from people.
“You have quite a few people who care about you.” Liu Zhuang craned his neck to look at her phone.
Feng Che wanted to see too, but he was grabbed by the back of the neck and pulled away.
"Why can you see this?!" Feng Che protested.
Liu Zhuang sneered: "What is my relationship with Yun Jin, and what is your relationship with her?"
A hint of resentment flashed in Feng Che's eyes, but he still complained, "You and she are siblings, and I'm her brother and sister. We're all brothers and sisters, so who's more noble than whom!"
That sounds nice, but do you genuinely want to be her brother?
Liu Zhuang didn't bother to expose him, and let go with a light sneer.
Feng Che quickly straightened his messy collar and ran to Yun Jin to complain, "Sister..."
Yun Jin was staring at her phone when she heard the sound and absentmindedly hummed in response.
Seeing this, Feng Che assumed she was busy, so he considerately kept quiet. Liu Zhuang, however, walked over directly, pressed her phone, and asked, "What are you looking at?"
"Why hasn't Hua Cheng sent me a message yet?" Yun Jin said.
The field investigation was arduous, and he was also seriously ill, so it was normal for him to get up a little late in the morning. But it was already past eleven o'clock, and he should have gotten up and seen the news by now, yet he still hadn't contacted her.
This is very abnormal.
A bad feeling arose again, and Yun Jin immediately called Hua Cheng.
The phone rang six or seven times before being answered, but the voice on the other end wasn't Hua Cheng's: "President Yun?"
Yun Jin paused for a moment, then said, "Mm."
“Mr. Yun, this is Li Yu,” the person on the phone quickly explained, “Mr. Hua went into the mountains. Before he went into the mountains, there was a strong wind, and many of the base stations in the mountains were damaged by the wind. Now there is basically no signal. Mr. Hua was afraid that you would be worried if you couldn’t contact him, so he left his phone with me in advance.”
My premonition came true.
Yun Jin closed her eyes briefly, and after calming down, asked, "Wasn't the original plan to enter the mountain at nine o'clock tomorrow morning?"
Upon hearing this, Li Yu glanced around in alarm.
Nobody's here.
Could there be a mole within the organization?
Oh, it's not really a mole. Everyone at Yuncheng Technology knows that everyone around President Hua was promoted by President Yun. He himself worked under President Yun for two years before being transferred to President Hua's side.
When all members, including the leader himself, are Yun's people, there is no such thing as an insider; it can only be said that everyone is on the same side.
Li Yu breathed a sigh of relief, not daring to hide anything: "Originally it was tomorrow morning, but after you made the call yesterday, President Hua moved up a series of schedules. He went into the mountains at 10 pm last night and is expected to come out before 8 am tomorrow. We have already booked the flight for noon tomorrow and will arrive at the company in the afternoon..."
“Go find him now,” Yun Jin interrupted, “and tell him to leave immediately.”
Li Yu was stunned: "Ah..."
Liu Zhuang dragged Feng Che to rent a car. Yun Jin looked up at the gloomy sky and said, "It becomes very unsafe in the mountains when it rains."
"But the weather forecast..."
“I’ve lived here for nineteen years and I’ve never seen a weather forecast that’s ever been accurate,” Yun Jin said patiently. “Send someone to pick him up right now and tell them it was me who said it. If he dares not to cooperate, I will never take care of him again.”
Liu Zhuang, who had just returned from renting a car, looked at Yun Jin in surprise upon hearing this.
Hua Cheng had few family ties in his life, and it was only after meeting her that he had a normal family. For him, family was more important than his life.
"I won't care about him anymore..." What's the difference between saying that and kicking him out of the house?
Li Yu didn't realize the seriousness of the words, but he knew he had to listen to Boss Yun: "Okay, I'll go into the mountains to find him now."
"Okay, be careful too." Yun Jin said, and was about to hang up the phone.
Li Yu quickly called out to her, "President Yun!"
"Is there anything else?" Yun Jin asked.
Li Yu hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Have you seen the report?"
"Um."
Li Yu: "The news was secretly reported by a media outlet in the early morning. President Hua went into the mountains last night, so he doesn't know about this yet. Please don't worry, he will explain to you when he comes out."
Not wanting to make things difficult for her subordinate, Yun Jin said "I understand" and hung up the phone.
Liu Zhuang and Feng Che, who had been waiting nearby, immediately came over.
Feng Che: "Sister."
Liu Zhuang: "We've rented the car."
Yun Jin nodded: "Let's go."
Feng Che's lips moved, as if he wanted to say that it wouldn't be too late to leave after finishing his meal, but seeing Yun Jin's decisive and efficient back view, he swallowed his words back.
I'm so envious of Brother Hua; he can make my sister so nervous.
He sighed and followed along with an indifferent expression.
When they arrived, Liu Zhuang was driving, Yun Jin was in the back seat, and Feng Che originally wanted to get in the back seat as well, but Liu Zhuang grabbed him.
"Go to the passenger seat and chat with me."
Feng Che wailed, "I don't want to talk to you!"
“You have to sit in the passenger seat even if you don’t want to talk,” Liu Zhuang forced him in. “I’m only Yun Jin’s driver, you know? Even your dad has to sit in the passenger seat.”
Feng Che was extremely unwilling, but Liu Zhuang was fat and strong, so he shoved him into the passenger seat and locked the car door.
Feng Che turned his head to complain to Yun Jin, but when he turned around, he saw her lying down in the back row.
"Don't disturb her, she definitely hasn't slept all night," Liu Zhuang said in a low voice.
Feng Che pursed his lips, genuinely unhappy for the first time since seeing the news: "Brother Hua is really going too far."
Liu Zhuang glanced at him dismissively: "What do you know about what's going on between them?"
"I don't know as much as you do, but I do know that a few years ago, my sister's cheap father colluded with the local TV station to smear her on the show, causing her to be unable to appear in public for a long time. If it weren't for the fact that public opinion has become much more tolerant of women in the past two years, she probably wouldn't have been able to take over as CEO smoothly."
When Feng Che recalled the past, his face was shrouded in gloom, which was quite different from his usual image.
“That place, and the people there, are all rotten to the core. That’s why my sister hasn’t gone back for so many years. But what about Brother Hua? Look at what he’s done. Not only does he want to do some kind of poverty alleviation project, but he also made my sister go back to that awful place because she was worried about him.”
He is not worthy of his sister's affection and care.
Feng Che didn't say this, but Liu Zhuang understood it. While driving, he said casually, "Although I also think Hua Cheng is really annoying, he must have his reasons for doing this."
Feng Che frowned and looked at him.
“If there’s only one person left in this world who won’t hurt Yun Jin, it’s definitely Hua Cheng,” Liu Zhuang glanced at him. “You and I will have to step aside.”
He said 'won't hurt', not 'love'.
Love does not mean indifference. There are countless things and people in the world, and many of them use the name of love to commit acts of harm. Hua Cheng is definitely not one of them.
Since he dared to do this, he was certain that Yun Jin would not be harmed in this matter.
So Liu Zhuang was angry, but he wasn't too worried about Yun Jin.
Feng Che scoffed, clearly not believing it.
Liu Zhuangyan said that was enough and ignored him.
The rented SUV sped through the steel city and roared towards the boundless mountains.
Yun Jin lay in the back seat, listened to Liu Zhuang and Feng Che's conversation for a while, and then fell into a deep sleep.
She was up until the early hours of the morning last night, and after getting back, she only slept for a few hours before being woken up by the alarm. She was really too tired. Fortunately, her husband was considerate and specially rented a bigger car and even bought a blanket to put on the back seat, giving her a fairly comfortable 'bed'.
Yun Jin slept soundly until she was awakened by hunger, at which point she groggily opened her eyes.
Then they found the car parked on the side of the road, but neither Feng Che nor Liu Zhuang were in it.
Trusting Fatty, she didn't sit up immediately. Instead, she closed her eyes and dozed off for a while before opening the car door and getting out.
The car was parked in the wilderness, and all that could be seen was a vast, empty wasteland and a straight road.
Liu Zhuang was on the phone in the distance. He got so angry at one point that he almost jumped up. Feng Che was squatting near the SUV. As soon as he saw Yun Jin, he stood up.
"elder sister."
"What's wrong?" Yun Jin asked.
The wind was strong in the wilderness, and the temperature suddenly dropped. Feng Che, with his hands tucked in, said somewhat hastily, "The car broke down, and Brother Liu is calling for help."
Yun Jin glanced at her phone and realized it was already 5 p.m.
No wonder I was so hungry.
Liu Zhuang shouted twice more on the other end of the phone, then hung up and returned with a stern face. When he saw Yun Jin standing outside the car, he immediately frowned: "Why did you come out?"
"How long will it take for the rescue team to arrive?" Yun Jin asked.
Liu Zhuang: "Don't even mention it. It's so unprofessional. They said they were almost there two hours ago, but we haven't seen a trace of them yet. When I called them again, they told us to find a hotel to stay in for the night. But where am I supposed to find a hotel in this desolate wilderness?!"
"Don't panic. If it gets too difficult, call several roadside assistance services. It's okay if it's a bit more expensive. Let's get the car fixed first," Yun Jin advised.
Liu Zhuang agreed and opened the car door for her to get in first.
Seeing that he insisted, Yun Jin had no choice but to return to the car.
The moment the car door closed, cutting off the wind and cold air, she realized that her fingers were icy cold.
Her phone was still full of unopened messages and calls. She looked down and opened her recent calls, where she saw a missed call from Hua Cheng.
Yun Jin paused for a moment, then dialed back.
The phone rang several times before she answered, and she knew it wasn't Hua Cheng on the other end.
Sure enough, Li Yu said, "President Yun."
"Where is he?" Yun Jin asked calmly.
Li Yu sighed, "As soon as I received your call, I called my colleagues and we went to various villages to look for him, but we couldn't find him. We probably missed him..."
Hua Cheng is scheduled to visit seven villages, and he started yesterday.
The mountains in the county are endless. To get from one village to another, you might have to walk dozens of miles of winding mountain roads or cross several mountain peaks. You might also get delayed by other things along the way. Without modern communication methods, just searching blindly is like a headless fly running around aimlessly.
“But I asked my colleagues to leave notes in every village, and President Hua will see them when he arrives in the village,” Li Yu said, perking up. “Once he sees them, he will definitely turn back immediately.”
As he spoke, Yun Jin lowered her eyes and gently stroked the black wristwatch on her wrist. When he finished speaking, she stopped stroking the wristwatch.
"Have all the colleagues who were sent out returned?" she asked.
Li Yu: "Yes, they've all come back."
"How long does it take to get from your place to Chenjia Village one way?" Yun Jin asked.
Li Yu: "About an hour and a half."
An hour and a half...
Yun Jin glanced at the gray sky: "Could you do me the trouble of going to Chenjia Village to wait for him?"
Li Yu was taken aback: "Chenjia Village?"
“Yes, according to his work habits, that should be his last stop,” Yun Jin said in a gentle and calm voice. “You wait for him in the village. When he arrives, stop him and don’t let him go into the deep mountains. I’m on my way there now. We can talk about other things when we meet.”
"Okay, okay." Upon hearing that she had also arrived, Li Yu began to pray for President Hua.
“Once you get to the village, don’t wander around. It’s okay if you don’t see him, but make sure you’re safe. Stay in the village until you see me,” Yun Jin said after a few seconds of silence. “Fengcheng is prone to mudslides during heavy rains, so don’t let your guard down.”
"OK."
The wind picked up, the sky darkened, and a light drizzle began to fall. The weather forecast finally caught up and started warning of heavy rain and even torrential downpours.
Liu Zhuang made several more rescue calls, but none of them could arrive immediately, which made him angry and he cursed.
Feng Che thought it was great, as he could spend three more hours with his sister.
"Sister, are you hungry? I have some cookies here." He pulled out a box of Oreos as if by magic.
Yun Jin glanced at it: "Where did you come from?"
"I bought this when I passed by a convenience store earlier. I also have other snacks. Do you want some?" Feng Che enthusiastically promoted the food.
Yun Jin shook her head slightly and looked at her phone again.
Feng Che's smile faded slightly: "You've checked your phone three times in ten minutes."
Yun Jin looked up.
Feng Che touched his nose, looking innocent: "Brother Hua isn't a child. He definitely knows to run home when it rains. Instead of worrying about him, you should worry about whether we'll be sleeping on the streets tonight."
As soon as he finished speaking, Liu Zhuang opened the car door and got in.
“The rescue will take at least three hours to arrive, and it’s about to rain heavily. I just asked around, and there’s a guesthouse two kilometers ahead. Xiao Che, you go with Yun Jin first, I’ll wait here.”
He had barely finished speaking when Yun Jin interjected, "I'll stay and wait with you."
"Stop fooling around," Liu Zhuang handed Feng Che an umbrella. "It's getting colder and colder. I can cover myself with a blanket for a while after you leave."
Yun Jin frowned: "Fatty..."
"Hurry up, or we really won't be able to leave once it starts raining," Liu Zhuang urged.
Yun Jin was worried about him waiting for rescue alone, but she also knew that she couldn't help him if she stayed, and would only make him worry.
There was only one blanket in the car, which Liu Zhuang had bought at the airport because he was worried she wouldn't be comfortable sleeping in the car. If she insisted on leaving it, Liu Zhuang would definitely leave the blanket for her.
After a few seconds of deliberation, she decided to get out of the car. Feng Che immediately held up an umbrella to shield her head and took off his coat to hand it to her.
"I don't want it, you keep it yourself," Yun Jin refused.
Before Feng Che could persuade him, Liu Zhuang said first, "He's young and energetic, so don't refuse."
"Yes, sister, you should put it on." Feng Che's hair was messy from the wind, and his fingertips were so cold they had turned white, but he still insisted on giving it to her.
Yun Jin had no choice but to take it and put it on. After thanking Feng Che, she asked Liu Zhuang, "Is the phone charged enough?"
Liu Zhuang waved his phone: "It's more than enough."
Yun Jin nodded: "Keep in touch anytime."
After saying that, he left with Feng Che.
It was completely dark, the rain was getting heavier, and the temperature was dropping. Yun Jin and Feng Che walked along the road like two plants swaying in the wind and rain.
Two kilometers isn't a long distance, but by the time the two arrived at the guesthouse, they were still freezing cold.
Yun Jin was in a slightly better situation, as she was dressed warmly enough and the umbrella was always over her head. Feng Che, on the other hand, was in a much worse state; his thin sweatshirt was mostly soaked by the rain, and his lips were turning purple from the cold.
It's the off-season now, and with the rain, there aren't many guests at the guesthouse.
Yun Jin asked for three rooms and handed the room key to one of them to Feng Che: "Take a shower as soon as you go upstairs, and let the hot water run for a while."
“You too, sister,” Feng Che said, her nose red.
Yun Jin smiled, raised her hand to wipe the water off his face, and then wiped it back onto his clothes: "Go on."
"good!"
The puppy, petted by its sister, immediately became cheerful and ran off with the room key in hand.
Yun Jin looked down and sent a message to Liu Zhuang to inquire about the situation. Liu Zhuang quickly replied: Still waiting.
Yun Jin breathed a sigh of relief and replied: Then I'll rest first.
Liu Zhuang: Okay.
Yun Jin put away her phone, asked the guesthouse owner, and then went to the small pharmacy next door to buy a box of cold medicine granules. She delivered it to Feng Che right on time.
Feng Che had just finished showering, and his specially permed curly hair had turned into a messy bird's nest. He was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and shorts and exuded youthful energy.
She is truly eighteen years old.
"Sister, what's wrong?" Her eyes were bright.
Yun Jin handed him the cold medicine: "Make yourself a cup to ward off the chill."
"Okay, thank you, sister." Feng Che happily accepted it, and seeing her about to leave, he subconsciously grabbed her wrist.
Yun Jin paused, then looked up at him.
Feng Che immediately let go, looking pitiful, and said, "Sister, I'm a little scared to sleep alone. Can you stay and keep me company?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a bolt of lightning struck outside the window.
In the desolate wilderness, in a dilapidated guesthouse, a torrential downpour.
It is indeed quite terrifying.
Yun Jin pondered for a moment and said, "When Fatty comes back, let him sleep with you."
"...Suddenly I don't feel so scared anymore. Goodnight, sister. Sweet dreams, sister. Love you, sister." Feng Che decisively closed the door.
Yun Jin stood facing the door, which was the same color as the wall, for a moment, then chuckled softly.
Liu Zhuang arrived an hour later, soaked to the bone. As soon as he entered the sheltered guesthouse, he sneezed three times in a row.
Yun Jin handed him the towel: "How is it?"
"They towed it away! I'm going to complain about that car rental company. What kind of garbage did they rent!" Liu Zhuang rubbed his nose. "The rain is getting heavier, and we don't have a car. I'll just stay here tonight and go catch them when the rain stops tomorrow."
Yun Jin smiled and said, "Okay, you should go back to your room and rest."
Liu Zhuang responded and then looked at her: "Don't worry too much. He's a grown man and knows how to take care of himself."
"I know." Yun Jin nodded and handed him his room key.
The rain is getting heavier and heavier, and I don't know when it will stop.
After a whole day of fussing, Liu Zhuang and Feng Che were both asleep. Yun Jin had slept for a few hours earlier, so she wasn't sleepy at the moment. She stood in the lobby, drank a few sips of hot water, and then went to find the guesthouse owner.
"Rent a car?" The shopkeeper looked at her in surprise. "Are you going out now?"
Yun Jin nodded: "Okay, I'm going out to pick someone up."
"My car is in for maintenance and won't be back until tomorrow... Do you really need to pick it up now? It's raining heavily, it's best not to go out," the shop owner said, frowning.
Yun Jin said calmly, "Please help me think of a way, I have to go."
The boss frowned, looking troubled.
After a moment, she said, "I have another motorcycle here, but I can't lend it to you until the rain stops. After all, the safety of the tenants is the most important thing, and I hope you can understand."
Since she had already said that, Yun Jin had no choice but to go back to her room and wait for the rain to stop.
The heavy rain lasted all night. At six o'clock in the morning, the weather cleared up briefly for more than half an hour. Yun Jin finally managed to borrow a motorcycle and set off into the mountains before dawn.
Not long after she left, it started pouring rain again.
Hua Cheng slept in the village he was inspecting last night. When he saw that the sky had cleared up around 6 a.m., he immediately headed to Chenjia Village. However, it started raining again shortly after he set off.
"Judging from the situation, the rain isn't going to stop anytime soon. After we get to Chenjia Village, should we find a place to stay first, or go directly to inspect the site?" the driver asked.
There were seven people in the car, and everyone except the driver looked at Hua Cheng.
Hua Cheng wished he could shorten the inspection time as much as possible and get home to be scolded as soon as possible, but he was still cautious about everyone's safety: "Let's find a place to rest first, and we'll talk about it after the rain stops."
“There’s no need,” the tour guide couldn’t help but object. “It’s going to rain like this for the next few days. Instead of waiting, we might as well finish the inspection now.”
Hua Cheng frowned: "Are you sure this is okay?"
"Sure, sure, we're not going into the deep mountains, we're just visiting the village primary school, what could possibly happen?" the tour guide said with a smile.
Hua Cheng asked for others' opinions: "What do you think?"
The others also had their own plans afterward and didn't want to stay in the village waiting idly. They hadn't dared to say so before, but now that the local guide had spoken first, they all expressed that it would be better to end things sooner.
With everyone in agreement, Hua Cheng agreed.
The rain was getting heavier and heavier. After entering Chenjia Village, the inspection team went straight to the inspection site.
The last place we visited was Wangsheng Primary School in the village. The school is located behind the village, connected to it by only a small road, with rolling hills on both sides of the road.
The road was very narrow, and the car was forced to stop after traveling a few hundred meters. The group of people then walked forward with their umbrellas.
After a night of rain, the road became very muddy, and everyone trudged forward with difficulty, each step a struggle.
Hua Cheng wasn't the youngest among them, but he had been working out regularly and was relatively strong, so he unknowingly moved to the front.
Looking at the heavy rain ahead, Hua Cheng couldn't help but sigh.
When they went into the mountains the day before yesterday, the weather forecast showed that the next few days would be sunny. However, it started raining yesterday. For safety reasons, they temporarily suspended the expedition and only continued their journey this morning after seeing that the weather forecast showed that today would be sunny.
As expected, the weather forecast for Fengcheng was unreliable. It was sunny for half an hour, and then it started raining heavily again. They were already on their way and it was too late to go back, so they had to keep going in the rain, which meant they were now walking through the mud.
After walking for a while, Hua Cheng turned around and found that they were about ten meters behind, so he had to stop and wait for them.
The rain was still falling, the sound of it was deafening, and the large black umbrella was being pounded and pattered. Hua Cheng glanced at the rain in confusion, and just as he thought the sound was a bit too loud, he saw the expressions on the faces of the people behind him suddenly change.
The accident happened in an instant. It could have started with a falling pebble or a tree leaning. By the time he realized what was happening, the mountainside beside him had already collapsed.
The collapsed mountainside blocked the only road with unstoppable force, and the large black umbrella that Hua Cheng had been holding was instantly crushed into the mud and rocks.
Hua Cheng fell backward into the mud, his back aching from the stones, but his hands still instinctively reached out to support the person in his arms.
Yun Jin nestled in his arms for a while before straightening up and slapping him in the pouring rain.
She slapped him with all her might, and Hua Cheng's face was turned to the side, causing the small lake in his eye socket to disappear down his nose.
A clear handprint quickly appeared on his face. Hua Cheng touched his numb face and suddenly laughed. His waist and abdomen trembled, and the brocade on his body also trembled.
Just as the disaster struck, the roar of a motorcycle suddenly came from behind him. He instinctively turned around, and Yun Jin's figure suddenly appeared, pulling him aside from where he should have been crushed under the rocks, thus saving him from the disaster.
The collapse has stopped, and on the other side of the blocked road, people keep calling out Hua Cheng's name.
Hua Cheng lay in the mud and water, staring at Yun Jin for a few seconds before shouting, "I'm fine, how about you guys?"
"We're all fine, no one's hurt. Mr. Hua, are you hurt?" A concerned voice came from the other end.
Hua Cheng's eyes were so wet from the rain that he could barely open them, so he could only squint and answer, "I'm not hurt."
"Mr. Hua, wait for us, we'll find someone to rescue you right away," the tour guide's voice trembled, clearly realizing he had caused trouble. "You, you, you go forward first, go to the primary school to take shelter from the rain, there might be more collapses here, it's not safe!"
"I understand. You should evacuate quickly too. We'll carry out the rescue after the rain stops," Hua Cheng said, taking Yun Jin's hand.
I could feel it when I was being hit; her fingertips were abnormally cold, and now when I held them, they felt like ice.
After confirming that he was alright, the people on the other side of the road had already left, leaving only the sound of the sudden, heavy rain in the world.
Hua Cheng held her hand tightly and lay down relaxed in the mud: "How did you know I was here?"
Yun Jin rode on his back, her face expressionless, and said, "It was a coincidence."
Hua Cheng didn't believe her nonsense. He took her hand and kissed it, saying, "It's good that you came."
Yun Jin sneered, pulled her hand away, and slapped him again.
Hua Cheng remained silent for a few seconds, then rubbed his aching and numb right cheek and pleaded with her, "Could you please not just hit one side?"
Yun Jin's response was to raise her hand again.
Hua Cheng complained that he shouldn't be hit on only one side, but upon seeing this, he offered his right cheek again.
Yun Jin looked at his flushed face, but hesitated to slap him.
"Can't bring yourself to do it?" Hua Cheng asked softly. "Then isn't it my turn?"
Yun Jin narrowed her eyes, just about to ask him what he meant, when the person who had been lying on the ground suddenly sat up.
He jolted her backward from his movements, but she was pulled back into his arms in the next second, and before she could regain her balance, he kissed her.
It was less of a kiss and more of a release of pent-up emotions.
The fear that had been building up the moment the disaster struck, the lingering dread of her sudden appearance, and the release of all emotions as I held her rain-soaked body and felt her strong heartbeat against my skin—all these emotions were finally released in that moment.
He wrapped her tightly in his arms, not caring that the mud on his body had soiled her; he just kept kissing her fiercely and deeply, wishing he could embed her into his body.
When Yun Jin was first kissed, she was a little annoyed, but unfortunately, the man knew her too well. The rhythm of his advances, the frequency of his breathing, and the deep-seated tenderness and care that remained even in his loss of control all greatly pleased her.
Hua Cheng's embrace was warm, dispelling her chill. She stopped resisting and softened her body, nestling into his arms.
The heavy rain seeped in everywhere, the temperature fluctuated back and forth, hot and cold, and soon even my lips became numb.
Hua Cheng, panting, separated from her and hugged her even tighter. Yun Jin straddled him, her swollen lips lingering down his earlobe, brushing his neck, and finally landing on his shoulder.
When the sharp pain came, Hua Cheng groaned lazily, his hands on her waist and hips clenching and unclenching, but he showed no intention of resisting.
After a long while, Yun Jinsong spoke, straightening up to look at his eyes, which were wet with rain.
"Pervert." She parted her red lips slightly and commented coldly.
Hua Cheng glanced at the bulge in his groin where she had sat, then looked up at the bloodstains on her lips and asked with a smile, "Aren't you one?"
