Chapter 81 The game begins. Let's go together.
Ye Wan was in a sweet mood. She had inherited her mother's tavern in the Kingdom of Oceana and was even in love. She was in such a good mood that the first thing she did when she woke up was to grab a handful of pancakes.
Pancake was still sleepy, and Ye Wan rubbed it like a loose glutinous rice ball, making its fur messy.
Pancake hummed twice, raised its paws and politely refused Ye Wan's kneading and twisting. Ye Wan simply grabbed it and kissed it. Pancake looked at her in confusion.
"Muffin, you are the cutest guinea pig in the world." Her eyes were covered with a pink filter, making everything she saw look cute.
Pancake didn't know what was wrong with her, but because it was too weak, it had no choice but to let Ye Wan rub its face.
She went downstairs happily. Euan had already bought breakfast, which was potato pancakes and wheat bread.
"Good morning." He smiled gently, which was rare, and then reached out to take the muffin out of Ye Wan's arms. Muffin didn't care about the delicious food, and picked up a potato pancake and ate it.
He was a little hungry, but the delicious potato scone slipped from his paws and fell to the ground.
Because the two adults in front of it kissed in front of it.
It froze there stupidly, then turned around in panic, turned its back and covered its eyes, leaving only its fat butt exposed.
Until someone opened the tent and came in. It was Kiara: "Hey, I heard you got the invitation. The staff said your tent is here..."
The two people quickly separated.
Kiara was completely oblivious. She had been busy all night and was fuming with exhaustion. "Can I have a sip of the water on the table? I'm so tired."
Ye Wan's face was as red as a ripe apple: "Of course, of course, Youan bought breakfast, you can eat it if you don't mind."
"That's very generous." Kiara cast a grateful glance at Ye Wan, then unceremoniously picked up the bread, tore it in half and threw it into her mouth.
Emma came in next. She was already wearing a sky blue short-sleeved shirt to show her support for the Floating Team. She looked up at the tent with great interest and said, "The tents given away this time are pretty good. I remember one year..."
Her words stopped abruptly.
Ye Wan felt a little uneasy under her stare and could only smile awkwardly. Emma looked at her, then at You An, and finally at Kiara who was sitting there eating and drinking.
"Hey, Kiara, did the pink bubbles run right in front of you and you didn't even notice?"
Kiara: "What bubbles? Are they new magical creatures?"
Emma was speechless and pulled her to go out, but Kiara refused to leave: "I haven't finished eating here yet!"
A voice came from a loud speaker outside: "Dear tourists, the competition is about to begin. Please line up at the magic teleportation point."
"Oh no, it's time." Emma took Kiara away first, and then winked at Ye Wan.
Ye Wan came out of the tent and found that the weather was bad today. The sky looked like a gray velvet soaked in dirty water. The air was sticky and humid, and there was no wind.
Many people were moving in the direction of the guide signs.
The light became dim and turbid. It was rare to have such weather in Calmette. Ye Wan felt a tightness in his heart.
Youan came out of the tent with a muffin in his hand, still stiff, looking up at her and then at him.
You An put the muffin into Ye Wan's small bag, then patted its head: "Sorry, I don't have a free hand to hold you at the moment."
Pancake tilted his head: “?”
He walked over, took Ye Wan's hand, and walked towards the venue.
"Why choose such weather to hold the competition?" She glanced at the gray mountains in the distance and complained to Youan in a low voice.
"Originally, the astrologer predicted a sunny day today," he said, reassuringly, "Don't worry, there's a wizard near the venue who specializes in dispelling dark clouds. It won't rain."
"That's good. I was worried that the rain would affect Lily's performance."
There were many portals placed in front of the Rainbow Valley, and everyone lined up to enter. Ye Wan heard the laughter of people around him, looked at everyone's happy smiling faces, and finally relaxed.
When they passed through the portal, Ye Wan felt as warm as if he had passed through a warm hair dryer.
After coming out, there was a huge stadium, just like the stadium in Ye Wan's world, a bit like a bird's nest, with stairs going up all the way. Ye Wan and Youan were sitting in a VIP box.
"They actually compensated us with a small box!" Ye Wan was very surprised. The box was not big, but it was equipped with binoculars, so he could clearly see every move on the field.
The field is covered with green grass like a football field. There is only one goal on each side of the field. Each team is equipped with a goalkeeper and the rest are attackers.
There is no Golden Snitch in the game. After two hours, whoever has the most points wins the game.
Ye Wan looked through the binoculars and said silently, "No Seeker and Snitch? That would be so boring..."
There were also many advertisements on the four walls of the gymnasium. Ye Wan could see the colorful billboards glittering on the walls:
"Sturdy shin guards! Made in the Dwarf Forge! They'll protect you from any collision!"
"Flying Carpet No. 1—a more reliable means of transportation than a broomstick, allowing you to watch the game and travel at the same time!"
The organizer of today's event is a tall, dark-skinned man with beautiful silver hair.
"Who is he?" Ye Wan looked at him with great interest. You An was not very happy and spoke in a somewhat stiff tone: "Willer Eastar, Chairman of the International Flying Broom Championships."
Ye Wan could tell he was jealous and reluctantly put down his binoculars: "I'm just interested in the competition, and honestly, I think you're much more handsome than him."
Youan looked much better, obviously having been coaxed into submission. Only Pancake looked at him with a look of disgust.
While they were talking, two teams came out on flying broomsticks, accompanied by cheers from the whole audience. They were so fast that they were flying all over the field. Ye Wan struggled to look around with binoculars and finally saw Lily.
She looked livid and nervous.
Soon the opposing Lightning Team launched an attack, forming a huge triangle that surrounded the Floating Team, but Lily was not panicked at all.
Her smaller frame quickly allowed her to escape from the opponent's encirclement and she flew over as light as a feather to grab the ball.
The guide's voice was filled with joy. "Lily Wilses, the youngest member of the Floating Team. As this year's dark horse, this team should not be underestimated!"
Soon the opponent resorted to all means, and a tall player from the opponent knocked Taya from the floating team to the ground.
"Hey, this is totally against the rules!" The people in the stands began to roar angrily, and the nurses from the convalescent home came in with medicine and a stretcher and carried Taya away.
Ye Wan: "I think this is a bit rough."
Youan patted her shoulder and comforted her: "A hundred years ago, this sport was more violent. Even attacking opponents was legal. The city hall once wanted to cancel this event, but the people of the kingdom loved this sport so much that they had to work on the rules."
Ye Wan looked at him: "Hey Youan, you speak like an elegant prince."
During the intermission, the regions represented by the two teams prepared performances. The floating team brought very beautiful light-winged butterflies. The flashing butterflies were neatly arranged in the air to form a broom shape, which was very beautiful.
Ye Wan liked this very much and applauded enthusiastically.
Just as she was expecting the other party to perform, several bolts of lightning suddenly struck in the center of the gymnasium, scaring everyone.
Ye Wan was also afraid of thunder and lightning, and it happened that those purple lightning bolts struck right in the middle of her, frightening her so much that she froze on the spot.
Pancake had already hidden his head in his pocket, and there were panicked sounds among the audience.
A group of yellow lightning birds flew from the horizon, striking down several purple lightning bolts in the air.
The commentator's voice also visibly relaxed: "Oh, so the Lightning team's mascot is the lightning bird. This species is a bit dangerous, but it wasn't reported before..."
His voice became quieter, and Ye Wan saw some officials hurriedly running to the side to discuss something.
It started to rain.
It was the kind of heavy rain that is unique to typhoon weather, which caught people off guard. Fortunately, they were in the box and were not wet, but the audience outside were miserable, it was like being splashed with water.
The roof of the stadium began to close urgently, but the audience was unwilling and roared in protest.
"That will definitely restrict the athletes' flight, but if it rains heavily..." Ye Wan said anxiously, "Lily is looking forward to this competition."
But Youan thought more long-term. This event had been suspended once and had been prepared for two years, which consumed countless people's efforts.
The broadcast was still asking everyone to stay calm, but it was obvious that the anger of the audience around was rising.
You An decided to go out and see what was going on. He turned to Ye Wan and said, "I'm going out for a while, you wait here..."
He paused. Ye Wan looked at him from across the table, his expression showing some of the uneasiness and confusion of being stranded in a strange place, as well as worry about Lily.
Obviously, she was not very interested in this kind of flying broom competition. Ye Wan thought it would be great if there was a portal that allowed her to go directly back to the tavern.
Besides, all her friends were scattered in different areas. She couldn't see Ye Wan or find Qiara. He was the only one she had here.
Of course, the muffin shivering in his pocket can be considered a child who is barely a little bit reliable.
He sighed, but still stretched out his hand towards Ye Wan, palm facing up, as if holding out a gentle invitation.
"I'm going to check out the situation. Anyway, let's go together."
His voice was mixed with the magic of love, clear and gentle.
Ye Wan was completely relieved. After hearing what he said, she no longer cared whether she could return to the tavern. She felt that as long as she could be with Youan, even if she was about to embark on an unknown journey, even if she completely ignored this lively event and ran to a more wonderful place, it would be fine.
So she put her hand in Youan's palm, and the two of them left the box with their fingers clasped together.
