Chapter 12 Do you like plants?
Hu Tiehua adapted to rhythm games much faster than expected, and by the end of a song, he had already grasped the general rules.
He wanted Lu Yusheng to help him unlock the level again, but when he turned around, he found that the little girl had already fallen asleep on the table.
He felt bad about disturbing the sleeping girl, and it didn't seem appropriate to continue sitting next to her, so after hesitating for a while, he dragged a stool over to the bar.
On the other side, Sikong Zhaixing also had a good experience with the various new gameplay modes. He launched a bird and before he could even check the results, he heard a commotion.
He craned his neck and saw Hu Tiehua walking towards him and Lu Yusheng, who was already asleep behind him. He knowingly moved aside a little and even enthusiastically gave him some pointers on how to play, as a "veteran player" with 30 hours of experience.
Unfortunately, Lu Yusheng didn't get to sleep for long in the end.
"You're the boss, you have to see the guests." She opened her blurry eyes as this explanation was given.
The shop welcomed two new customers.
One of them looked very familiar; Lu Yusheng recognized him at a glance as Lu Xiaofeng because of his distinctive mustache.
Not only are they one of only two customers who have ever been charged, but they are also the highest spenders.
The other one was a complete stranger, and his appearance was even more striking.
Her lips were gentle and smiling, her clothes were pure white and elegant, and a folding fan in her left hand was slowly and deliberately fanning herself at her waist.
Lu Yusheng was much more enthusiastic towards his former valued client, and took the initiative to step forward and wave, saying, "Young Master Lu, please come in!"
Unexpectedly, Lu Xiaofeng, who had just arrived, seemed even more surprised than she was when he saw Sikong Zhaixing behind her...
"You little rascal, what are you doing here?!"
Sikong Zhaixing was also somewhat surprised. He didn't know why, even though he was wearing a disguise mask, he was recognized at first glance.
He touched the mask on his chin and said in a seemingly complaining tone, "Why are you here again?"
Lu Xiaofeng pointed to his side: "Qi Tong was also very curious when I told him about this place, so I brought him here to take a look."
Lu Yusheng then spoke up at the opportune moment: "Looks like we're all friends. Want to turn on another computer and play around?"
She imagined the rich man's wealth and went to great lengths to invite him, even offering to use her hard-earned backup energy to exchange for another computer.
Lu Xiaofeng shook his head helplessly: "Miss Lu will be disappointed. My friend here is blind and probably can't play these games."
How could this be?!
Lu Yusheng was genuinely surprised. He looked no different from a normal person, and even appeared exceptionally gentle and handsome.
Such a young and handsome man, and he seems to have a good personality, she couldn't help but sigh with regret: "That's such a pity."
Lu Xiaofeng was taken aback, then laughed and said, "It's no pity. He's not like that monkey who's obsessed with games. He usually just likes to tend to flowers and plants."
Hearing this, Lu Yusheng sighed: "It's even more of a pity. I know of at least three planting games."
Hearing this, Hua Manlou laughed, and his beautiful but dull eyes turned to look in her direction, as if he had become interested: "Oh? Planting flowers can be turned into a game?"
Speaking of this, she was wide awake, enthusiastically introducing, "Of course! Not only can you become a flower fairy and grow little flower sprites, but you can also steal flowers and vegetables from other people's fields. If you prefer the combat type, there's also a flower-growing and zombie-fighting mode..."
"That does sound quite good." Hua Manlou stopped fanning himself, seemingly genuinely regretful.
Lu Xiaofeng closed his fan with a "click" sound, and then said, "What's there to regret? I'll play with it for you and then tell you the story."
Upon hearing this, Sikong Zhaixing readily gave up his seat.
With the atmosphere reaching this point, the two moved together behind the bar.
As Lu Yusheng followed her inside, he glanced around and realized that Hu Tiehua was no longer on the first floor; she must have gone back to her room.
She didn't take it to heart, then went to the computer, opened the desktop, and hesitated before asking, "Which one would you two like to try first?"
"Growing flowers and vegetables is pretty much the same, let's fight zombies first," Sikong Zhaixing suggested enthusiastically.
Lu Xiaofeng glanced at Hua Manlou, and seeing that he didn't object, he nodded in agreement.
Lu Yusheng then clicked on the familiar green zombie icon—
"This game is about a group of zombies attacking your house, and the plants on your lawn in front of your house will help you fight them off. The interesting part is calculating the currency and plants needed for each level. It's easy to pick up in the early stages; I'll demonstrate a couple of times and you'll definitely get the hang of it."
Almost the instant the background music started, Hua Manlou frowned slightly.
He was more sensitive to sound than the average person, and since he was sitting so close, the zombie's strange laughter seemed to explode right next to his ear.
If Lu Xiaofeng hadn't explained the strange sound-producing mechanism here beforehand, his reaction would probably have been even stronger.
Lu Yusheng frowned and lowered his voice, clearly annoyed by the noise.
The game begins.
A small patch of grass was laid out in the center of the screen, and the narrator's voice followed: "Let's familiarize ourselves with the game mode in the first level. Just catch the sun and then plant plants."
As she spoke, she placed a pea shooter on the far left: "This is called Peashooter. It will shoot a pea at the enemy every short interval."
"Then what?"
As Lu Xiaofeng was wondering, a small sun fell down.
Lu Yusheng continued, "Then we collect suns. Each sun costs 25 yuan. You can see the price below. Although you may not understand the numbers yet... but look at the box above. If a plant is lit up, it means you have enough suns and can plant another one."
The plant display now only has one bare pea shooter, but the two bystanders quickly remembered that four suns equal one pea plant.
Finally, with the three little peas twisting and turning, the few attacking zombies were quickly routed, and accompanied by a lighthearted tune, a card with a sunflower drawn on it appeared on the screen.
"The appearance of this card means that this level is over. The sunflower in the picture is a new plant added in the next level."
She paused and continued, "Sunflowers are very important plants. It takes two suns to plant one, but it can produce its own sun and quickly earn back its investment."
After saying that, Lu Yusheng opened the next level.
"You get two suns at the start, which is just enough to exchange for one sunflower. Once you collect two more suns, you can plant more sunflowers."
This time, instead of planting peas, she planted a sunflower on each of the three lawns, and then watched the little flower bear fruit with the other two.
With the three flowers working together, they quickly gathered enough money for a Peashooter. Just then, the first zombie appeared, and the pea was planted on the grass where it was.
"Using sunlight to summon plants? That's quite adorable," Hua Manlou, who had been listening quietly, exclaimed.
As Lu Yusheng gradually sketched out the scene with his language, a harmonious and warm picture began to emerge in his mind—
The delicate and beautiful plants basked in the sunlight, stretching out their branches and leaves while gracefully and nimbly lashing at the strange, sluggish little zombies, creating a wonderful natural atmosphere.
