Past: Enrollment in an Elite International Academy

Past: Enrollment in an Elite International Academy

Ye Lin received the special admission letter and had to leave Quan State and come to the unfamiliar international elite college.

At ten o'clock in the morning, Guoying was crowded with freshmen. Since outsiders were not allowed to enter the school, everyone else was dragging their bags, large and small. Fortunately, Ye Lin didn't have much luggage. From the huge Guoying Square, a loud announcement blared, "All new freshmen, assemble at the square immediately. All new freshmen, assemble at the square immediately."

Guoying hadn't yet assigned dormitories to its new students. Students were being forced to stay on campus, and everyone, carrying their luggage, struggled to make their way to the square. Ye Lin surveyed this strict academy with a perceptive eye. She hadn't found much information about Guoying online, and no students who had attended Guoying had posted anything about the school online. She wondered just how capable this academy was. Fearing another mandatory assessment, Ye Lin didn't attempt to breach the school's firewall.

"To all the new students at the International Elite Academy, welcome to our campus. It's an honor for you all to be here. No matter who you are or how accomplished you may have been, everyone at International Elite Academy must adhere to the philosophy and mission of International Elite Academy. We will nurture you into elites in various fields, and your future lives will be filled with brilliance. Please embrace and enjoy life at International Elite Academy."

"Now all freshmen put down your luggage and take the campus bus to the military training site for military training."

"Ah, we have to go to military training just after arriving." The freshmen were miserable and could only obey silently and get on the bus one by one.

After all the new students boarded the bus, it slowly began to roll out of the school. As it pulled out of the school gates, the seniors, who hadn't been seen before, were standing in the upstairs hallway, making strange noises, shouting and clapping excitedly, laughing loudly, and looking like they were just watching the fun. Ye Lin watched this scene. Each of their faces was filled with arrogance, their eyes filled with the contempt and disdain of a superior. Was this the way Guoying had taught them?

Ye Lin watched as buses drove out of the city and headed for the suburbs, their routes increasingly remote, towards deserted areas. From the moment she entered Guoying, she sensed something strange about everything.

The bus stopped and the new students got off one after another. This place was a place of overgrown weeds, rolling forests, low-lying basins, steep cliffs, and a very complex terrain, even with some relatively rare landforms. Ye Lin had never heard of such a typical geographical feature before.

Everyone got off the bus and it left. Someone was waiting for them there early.

"What a godforsaken place this is! Why did the car leave without waiting for us to come back?"

Ye Lin didn't see the cars in front of them, nor did she see the cars behind them coming. It seemed that they had separated this group of freshmen.

Everyone looked at the man who had been waiting there early. He had healthy brown skin, a strong and sturdy body, and a somewhat cool and handsome look.

"Hello, freshmen of Guoying. I am your junior. My name is Geneine Jimmy. I will be the commander of your military training this time. You can just call me Instructor Jimmy." The man smiled, revealing his white teeth. He was very charming and exuded charisma.

"Wow, so handsome."

The freshmen lined up and stood at attention. Jimmy had a pleasant expression and was joking with everyone. "Next, we'll do 50 sets of high kicks."

"Okay, let's take a break."

Jimmy chatted with everyone, "What's your name?" "What are you good at?"

Jimmy seemed to be quickly grasping the information about this group of freshmen. He looked at Ye Lin and said, "Oh, this girl's appearance is really eye-catching. I really can't help but ask, beautiful girl, what is your name?"

Ye Lin looked at Jimmy, without the slightest fear, and said calmly: "Lin."

"Lin, oh, you look like you're from the opposite hemisphere. Where are you from?"

"Quan Guo."

"Is that so? It's really an unusual country."

When the other freshmen heard about Ye Lin's motherland, they couldn't help but sneer. In their opinion, Quanguo was a very boring country.

"Oh, I can speak a little bit of Mandarin." In the English language class, people don't use Mandarin to communicate, but use the international language. Some freshmen haven't fully mastered it yet and may not understand some parts. Ye Lin naturally mastered the international language early on.

Jimmy wanted to ask Ye Lin more questions, but Ye Lin said, "Sir, it's time for a break."

"Okay, then let's rehearse the whole process." Jimmy didn't ask any more questions.

"Everyone has performed well. Now we will disband and you can move around freely for a while. I still have some things to take care of and will be back soon." Jimmy looked back before leaving, with an ambiguous smile on his face.

Many freshmen relaxed, walked around, sat on rocks to enjoy the scenery, and talked about their excitement about being a new student.

After a while, Jimmy still didn't come back. Ye Lin remained alert, thinking there was movement and a group of people approaching.

"Buzz buzz buzz--" The sound was getting closer and closer. The freshman listened to the approaching sound and didn't know that danger was coming.

A group of men in black riding motorcycles, wearing masks and voice changers, and equipped with weapons, drove towards everyone.

The leading man spoke fluent Gaoguo. "Look, what I found? A group of cute little prey."

Everyone seemed to realize that this group of people were not good people, "Take these cute little lambs back home to play with them."

The man in black on the Black Knight took out a fishing net, "Ahhhh——" the freshmen screamed and ran away, fleeing in all directions.

A large net was spread out, covering several students. "Woo-woo--" the masked black riders cheered and tied them up.

The leading man laughed and said, "The game begins, cute little mice, run away quickly, hahahaha."

Some girls fell down while running away, and the black riders behind them caught up with them and circled around them in a malicious way. The girls were so scared that they burst into tears.

Some boys started fighting with the black riders and were soon pinned to the ground and beaten.

Ye Lin took in the chaotic situation. The leading man in black locked his eyes on Ye Lin. The two looked at each other. The man in black smiled maliciously, stepped on the accelerator of his black motorcycle and rushed towards Ye Lin.

Ye Lin turned and ran. Just as she was about to be caught up, she headed for the tree trunk. Just before hitting it, she quickly skirted the tree and turned left. The man in black, whose vision was obscured by Ye Lin's figure, rushed towards the tree trunk. He slammed on the brakes, turned the handlebars to the right, and slid a few meters before coming to a stop.

The man turned the car around and rushed towards Ye Lin again. Ye Lin ran towards a big tree. The man in black thought he saw through Ye Lin's trick and said, "Huh, you're still using this trick."

Ye Lin charged straight for the tree trunk, the black rider following closely. Without dodging, Ye Lin climbed onto the tree trunk, then did a backflip, landing behind the man and twisting his neck. They both fell off the motorcycle, and Ye Lin flung the man in black away. Ye Lin rushed to pick up the motorcycle, her ears twitching. Something was wrong; there was a noise on the motorcycle that shouldn't be there. The man in black smiled as Ye Lin grabbed the motorcycle. Ye Lin throttled, but didn't get on, causing the motorcycle to hurtle forward and collide with another black rider, knocking him to the ground.

Some freshmen with better skills also gained the upper hand and snatched the black riders' bikes. "Don't touch their bikes," Ye Lin shouted.

A freshman on a motorcycle fell off for some reason, and the motorcycle collided with another car. There was a loud "bang" and an explosion, and the boy fell to the ground with his eyes wide open in fear. Everyone who saw this scene dared not to try to grab their motorcycles.

The leading black-clad man, without his motorcycle, engaged in a fight with Ye Lin. Ye Lin quickly dodged, using a grab to close the gap between them. The two exchanged blows again, and Ye Lin dodged the man's punch and elbowed him in the chest. "Good skills," the black-faced man praised generously.

The man started to get serious. A side punch was blocked by Ye Lin, and a knee strike was thrown. A side kick from Ye Lin was deflected by the man. The two of them exchanged blows, and Ye Lin was not at a disadvantage at all. "Oh oh oh——" the black-faced man became excited.

Their moves became faster and faster, and finally the man launched a straight kick, and Ye Lin met it with a straight kick, their legs colliding. Ye Lin stood still, and the man took two steps back, his legs numb. He looked at Ye Lin fiercely, clearly annoyed.

Ye Lin didn't have time to argue with him. As more and more freshmen were being restrained, she ran toward the gathering of Black Cavalry. One of the Black Cavalry charged directly at her. As they collided, Ye Lin stepped onto the Black Cavalry, flipped in the air, and with one hand, ripped off her military training jacket. She struck the Black Cavalry rider hard in the eye, disrupting his vision and sending him falling. Using her jacket as a whip, she tied the handlebars of the carts and pulled them along. In this way, Ye Lin unloaded many of the Black Cavalry's vehicles.

A black cavalryman pointed his rifle at a girl slumped on the ground. Ye Lin threw her coat on his back and then threw him to the ground. Ye Lin helped the girl up and ran to the side together. "Hurry and run to the higher ground."

Upon hearing this, the freshmen ran up the mountain in the direction of Ye Lin. The terrain on the ridge was too bumpy, so the black riders had to abandon their cars and go up the mountain to chase them. Soon, the freshmen disappeared into the dense jungle.

The leading man watched the students running away from the foot of the mountain and chuckled, "Oh, interesting Gaoguo girls."

Ye Lin and his group climbed over the outer mountain and came to the connected flat peaks, temporarily avoiding the pursuit of the black riders.

The freshmen were covered in dust and dirt. “Who are they? They are so scary.”

"I don't know, maybe it's bandits or some kind of underworld force."

"Ahhh, I don't want to stay here anymore. I don't want to study anymore, I want to go home." The girl had just been frightened and had used up a lot of energy in the escape, leaving her physically and mentally exhausted. She couldn't help but break down and cry. The girls who were traveling with her patted her back to comfort her.

"Be quiet." Ye Lin listened attentively. "There's water flowing a little further up."

Ye Lin walked forward, and the freshmen behind her supported each other and followed her. After walking for a while, they heard the sound of rushing water. They walked forward happily, "There's a river ahead."

The students rushed to the river, drank the water in large gulps, replenished their energy, and did some simple cleaning. There were a bunch of small red fruits growing in the bushes by the river. Although they didn't fill their stomachs, they were better than nothing. Everyone rested here for a while.

"Everyone, it's very dangerous here. We can't stay here any longer." Everyone saw Ye Lin's ability just now and subconsciously regarded her as the backbone.

Everyone gradually rose and left the stream. Shortly after, a deafening buzzing noise was heard. Ye Lin quickly led everyone into hiding in the bushes. The noise grew closer, and several Black Riders appeared near the river. They dismounted their Black Riders and spoke in Gaoguo dialect, "Hey, let's wait here! This is the only water source in this mountain range. Those little brats will definitely come." The Black Riders were operating near the river.

Ye Lin watched this scene. The Black Cavalry could not climb the mountain they came from. This group of Black Cavalry was not the same one they had just encountered. Sure enough, there was more than one group of Black Cavalry. It seemed that they were specifically targeting us, the freshmen.

"We're almost there," a voice came. "Oh no," Ye Lin thought to herself. Sure enough, the Black Riders heard the sound too. They smiled at each other, exchanged glances, and then mounted their motorcycles and headed towards the sound.

The screams of freshmen and the unbridled laughter of the Black Knights could be heard not far away. Some freshmen who had hidden with Ye Lin were trembling with fear.

Ye Lin comforted everyone, "Everyone cheer up, we have to catch those black knights."

"What are you talking about? With our situation, we should run away now before those men in black notice us." A chubby, white boy with slightly curly hair from another country retorted.

"We can't escape. The mountains around here are full of Black Knights. If we don't deal with them, we won't be able to get down the mountain today. It's almost dark."

"Why should we listen to you, a boring female student from Quan Country? It's getting dark soon, so we should find a way down the mountain and leave this damn place before these dark weirdos who came out of nowhere find us." The boy was afraid of confronting the Black Cavalry and just wanted to leave quickly.

"I told you, if we can't deal with the Black Knights, we can't get down the mountain."

"If you want to die, go by yourself. Don't drag us along."

"I'm willing to go. I think she's right. Hiding like this is not a solution. We might as well give it a try." A brave girl stood beside Ye Lin.

"Then I'll go too. They're just a bunch of men in black. What's so scary about them? Being timid isn't my style." A boy also walked towards Ye Lin.

"I'll go."

"I'm going too."

More and more people strengthened their faith and stood by Ye Lin, until finally only the boy was left standing opposite.

"Then I'll go by myself, and you guys just wait to die on the mountain." The chubby boy left without looking back.

"Then what should we do? We can't just rush in like this."

"Those of you who are good at swimming follow me into the water, girls..." Ye Lin said.

The chubby boy paused, looking at the dark, deserted jungle ahead. "Those guys will surely realize their decision was wrong and come back to find me. I'll just be kind enough to wait for them here for a while."

Those who could swim with Ye Lin went to the bottom of the river bank with Ye Lin to salvage vines and long, strong seaweed. Everyone was busy.

Everyone looked at the slightly plump boy who had come back. He glanced around and said, "I was afraid that you would all be caught and I would have to rescue you."

Some girls smiled secretly, and no one obviously blamed him for leaving.

Ye Lin and the others quickly prepared themselves and quietly approached the Black Cavalry.

There were only five of them, and all the freshmen were charged, freshmen on other school buses.

"Look, there's water here." Several girls deliberately raised their voices.

"It seems that another little white rabbit has come to our door. The two of us will go, and you just wait here."

"Run, there's an ambush here." A tied-up boy shouted loudly to warn the group of girls.

Black Knight punched him and blocked his mouth. "Hey, be quiet. You scared my little pets."

The girls started running back, the two black knights chased after them, and the remaining three stayed where they were.

The girls ran at full speed, quickly leading the two Black Riders away from the riverbank. They reached a dead end, so the girls suddenly stopped. Just as the Black Riders were about to approach, a boy lurking nearby pulled up a rope. The Black Riders tripped over a vine, and the girls quickly covered their eyes with pollen-covered leaves. The boys rushed out and beat the Black Riders, leaving them defenseless.

"You bunch of scum, how dare you treat us like this? I'll let you taste my fist." The boys naturally took out their anger on the two bullied people.

And on the riverbank, "Why haven't they come back yet?"

"I guess he's just in a playful mood."

"I know you're just being lazy and there are still so many freshmen that haven't been dealt with yet."

"Brother, why are you so anxious? They are just a bunch of stupid little brats whose hair hasn't even grown out yet. They are easy to deal with."

"Hahaha."

Ye Lin came up behind them quietly, "Are you talking about us?"

The Black Knight suddenly turned around, and Ye Lin delivered a powerful punch. The Black Knight stumbled, then recovered and engaged Ye Lin in a scuffle. The other four more skilled boys took on the other two Black Knights. The Black Knight was more than capable of handling both, leaving the boys slightly at a disadvantage. The boys exchanged glances and began implementing their tactics. They kept their distance from the Black Knight, avoiding close-quarters attacks and direct attacks. The four boys shifted positions, forcing the Black Knight to deal with two while also guarding against two more.

The Black Knights were already a little annoyed. The time had come. Several boys used an offensive method to force the Black Knights to turn their backs on them. "Now is the time."

The Black Knights turned to be greeted by a deluge of pollen showered upon them by the swift-witted girls. Their superior vision was immediately put at a disadvantage. The boys, who had been able to contain the Black Knights, were quickly overwhelmed by their impaired vision and were overpowered by the freshmen. Meanwhile, Ye Lin's side had already concluded the fight, and the boys had released the bound freshmen. Another group of freshmen also brought back the other two Black Knights, whose faces were battered and bruised, and tied them up.

"Are you freshmen taking the other bus?"

"Yes, we were the third car to depart. We were having military training when this group of men in black suddenly rushed over and injured many of us."

The school bus Ye Lin was on was the fourth to depart. There were five mountains in this range, and the other four groups of people should have been scattered near different main mountains near the mountains.

"We need to find other freshmen to reunite with so that we can understand our current situation," Ye Lin said.

"Okay, we'll follow you to find them." said the boy who had reminded the freshmen.

Ye Lin led a group of freshmen to search deep into the mountains. Night was approaching, and the road ahead looked like a man-eating abyss.

Ye Lin arranged a few boys to guard the black cavalry from behind and slowly move forward. Ye Lin and the others went to the front to explore the way and look for other freshmen who were left alone.

Ye Lin gave the freshmen who were guarding the Black Knights a kind of grass leaf and said, "Feed this to them. If anyone behaves dishonestly or does something unkind, give them an extra leaf."

A boy guarding the Black Knight looked at the ordinary leaves and sniffed them curiously, "Don't sniff them, or you'll become stupid."

The boy immediately held his breath and put the leaves away.

The freshmen confiscated the weapons of the Black Knights. "Don't take guns. Take some daggers and sticks for self-defense."

"Why? Guns are much more useful than those?" someone asked puzzled.

Ye Lin stared at him, "Do you dare to kill someone?"

The boy who asked the question looked evasive and frightened, and what Ye Lin told him was certainly not the real reason.

In this way, Ye Lin and his team lent a helping hand to the freshmen they met along the way, and also dealt with some scattered black knights.
