Chapter 36
Amusement parks seem to like to be built some distance away from urban areas.
In the crowded carriage, Zhang Jusong and Xia Zhiheng occupied a small corner. The subway screen door opened with a "ding ding" sound, and another group of people rushed in, and the original team was compressed again.
Zhang Jusong's head was almost pressed against the car window, and her hands could not reach the railing. Unable to find a support point, the car started, and the inertia made her body sway, and she could hardly hold on.
A hand tightly embraced her, and Xia Zhiheng's voice came from above her head: "Hold on tight." Zhang Jusong didn't look up, but said "hmm" weakly.
She could almost smell the citrus scent of fabric softener on his white T-shirt, close enough.
He seemed to really like the smell of citrus, this thought flashed through Zhang Jusong's mind. Why did it have to be citrus? With this thought, his mind couldn't help but diverge.
Just as I was distracted, my eyes suddenly lit up and the whole car was instantly filled with warm sunlight. I caught a glimpse of the grass outside the window and realized that we were actually driving underground!
"This subway line has several stations that run above ground." Perhaps noticing her surprise, Xia Zhiheng explained.
There are green grass slopes on both sides of the track, dotted with unknown blue flowers. On the upper level are buildings of various colors, and above that, there is a blue sky.
What nice weather, Zhang Jusong thought, this is a good sign.
When the subway arrived at the station, they followed the guide they had prepared and rushed to the most popular rides in the amusement park. They arrived early, so they waited in line for a few minutes before it was their turn.
It was a perfect trip to try out the pirate ship, the pendulum, the high swing...all these popular rides.
After getting off the roller coaster and facing the extremely hot sun, Zhang Jusong felt a little dizzy.
"What's wrong?" Xia Zhiheng supported her with concern.
"It's okay," Zhang Jusong said softly, "Maybe it's a little too hot, just sit for a while."
There were already a lot of tourists at this time, and it was lunch time, so the rest area was almost overcrowded.
After searching for a while, I finally found an empty bench.
Xia Zhiheng opened the parasol and asked worriedly, "Are you really okay?"
"It's okay." Zhang Jusong smiled lightly, "It's just that I haven't played such an exciting game in a long time."
He frowned, looked at her for a while, and suddenly put the umbrella in her hand and said, "Then I'll go buy two bottles of ice water, you sit here and rest for a while."
"good."
Zhang Jusong sat quietly on the bench holding a parasol. The sun was too bright, and the thin umbrella was not enough to provide shade. She lowered her head, listlessly, and prayed that she would get better soon.
I have to get well soon, Zhang Jusong thought gloomily, because we have to go to the haunted house and ride the Ferris wheel later! My first date with Xia Zhiheng must go smoothly and end perfectly.
She tried taking a few deep breaths, but it was useless and she even felt a slight pain in her abdomen.
This familiar feeling of pain made her gasp. No way? It was clearly not her menstrual period yet!
The more frightened she was, the more intense the pain became. She had no time to care about the parasol. She pressed her hands on her belly, curled up, and beads of cold sweat appeared on her forehead.
Around the rest area, a young couple with a child were wandering around. When they saw Zhang Jusong occupying a bench by himself, the woman holding the child came over and asked politely, "Excuse me, can I sit next to you holding the child? The child just vomited from playing."
Zhang Jusong raised her eyes and saw that the baby in the woman's arms was indeed very uncomfortable. She stood up with great difficulty: "It's okay, you sit down."
The moment she stood up, the woman exclaimed: "Uh...your skirt..."
Zhang Jusong was stunned and turned around to look. There was a large, bright red stain on the hem of her white skirt, which was extremely obvious.
When she saw the red spot, she felt sick all over.
What was going on? She reacted and tried to cover her skirt with her hands, but the red was too big and the effort was in vain.
The tourists on the bench nearby also apparently noticed the obvious marks and looked at her in surprise.
Noticing those gazes, Zhang Jusong's breathing stagnated and he wished he could faint.
She froze in place, neither standing up nor sitting down, totally at a loss, when she saw a figure running towards her in the crowd.
"Xia Zhiheng!"
She called his name, her voice trembling slightly with a hint of tears.
Xia Zhiheng rushed over as if he was about to cross the finish line, his eyes fixed on the hem of her skirt.
Zhang Jusong wanted to hide himself completely, and it would be best if he could shrink into his shell like a turtle. Did he see it? What would he think? I shouldn't call him. How could I let him see such an embarrassing scene!
Thousands of thoughts flashed through my mind in an instant.
However, Xia Zhiheng asked nothing and said nothing. The next second, he raised his hand and took off his white T-shirt!
Wow!
At this moment, all eyes and discussions immediately focused on Xia Zhiheng.
He was completely oblivious and was only concentrating on fastening her white T-shirt.
The white T-shirt with a faint citrus scent firmly covered the hem of her skirt. He raised his eyes, and his eyes reflected her small figure.
"It's okay. I'm here."
He said it calmly.
Zhang Jusong looked at him, and for some reason, tears welled up in her eyes.
She bit her lower lip and couldn't say a word, which made Xia Zhiheng nervous again: "What's wrong? Does it hurt?"
He hesitated for a moment, undecided whether to help her buy painkillers or stay here with her.
A short-haired girl on a nearby bench stood up, took out a sanitary napkin from her bag, and stuffed it into Zhang Jusong's hand: "It's okay, it's just a normal physiological phenomenon."
Another long-haired girl also came closer, stood behind Zhang Jusong, and whispered, "Well, I have a tampon, do you want one? I'll go to the bathroom with you to change it. I also brought painkillers."
Accompanied by the long-haired girl, Zhang Jusong went to the bathroom and was still wearing the white T-shirt when he came out.
The long-haired girl was waiting at the sink. When she saw her come out, she said gently, "You're done. Wash your face."
Zhang Jusong thanked him repeatedly.
"What's the big deal? We are sisters, so we should help each other." The long-haired sister took out a small makeup bag from her bag and said with a smile, "Look at you, your makeup is all smudged from crying. Let me help you fix it."
The powder puff was gently pressed on her face. The long-haired girl looked at her face and said, "Well, this is fine. It's still a very fashionable crying makeup. It's pitiful and cute."
Her playful tone made Zhang Jusong relax a lot: "Thank you."
The long-haired girl closed the powder box and said with a smile, "It's okay."
Her eyes swept over the white T-shirt around Zhang Jusong's waist: "Your boyfriend is really not bad. My God, he took off his clothes decisively, wow."
The long-haired girl lowered her voice and said, "Excuse me, I just took a peek and saw that your boyfriend has abdominal muscles! You are so lucky, sister."
"Ah?" Zhang Jusong said hesitantly, "Is there... is there?"
The long-haired girl raised her eyebrows: "No way, you haven't checked the goods yet?"
Zhang Jusong's face turned red and he didn't know how to answer.
Seeing her look, the long-haired girl laughed and said, "Sorry, sorry, you can check it next time."
She put her bag on, confirmed that Zhang Jusong was fine, then waved goodbye and left.
When Zhang Jusong returned to the rest area, Xia Zhiheng had already put on the amusement park commemorative T-shirt. He handed over a bag: "I bought you one too, and the label has been cut off."
After changing into new clothes and taking painkillers, Zhang Jusong finally recovered.
Xia Zhiheng was still worried and refused to go out to play. Instead, he found a restaurant with a better environment and begged her to sit down and rest.
"The weather is too hot, I... I'm afraid of getting tanned." Xia Zhiheng said nonsense seriously, "Let's just rest here for a while, okay?"
He deliberately leaned over the table and looked up at her, with the words "take a break and play again" clearly written in his puppy eyes.
Whenever he showed this expression, Zhang Jusong was helpless.
Besides, the embarrassing situation just now still left her with some psychological trauma. Forget it, it’s better to stay where there are fewer people.
A cup of hot cocoa whiled away the rest of the afternoon.
As dusk passed over the sky and night fell, the Ferris wheel lit up, casting a purple glow across the night sky.
An unknown blues music was playing in the restaurant. Zhang Jusong looked out the glass window. From this direction, he could only see a corner of the Ferris wheel from a distance.
Disappointment and regret inevitably climb into one's heart like vines.
She lowered her eyes and sighed softly. In the end, she was unable to complete this first date successfully.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere else?"
His eyes were always on her.
Zhang Jusong shook his head: "No, I'm much better now, but..."
She looked at him and said, "I'm sorry I screwed up our plans. It would have been better if we had come on another day."
"What are you talking about?" Xia Zhiheng laughed, "No, I don't allow you to think like that."
He pinched the clothes on his body: "If I hadn't come today, sister, when would I be able to wear couple shirts with you? No -"
Xia Zhiheng tilted his head: "Well, I can, but I still need to find a reason to coax you into wearing it."
"What?" Zhang Jusong couldn't help but laugh, "Are you coaxing me now?"
"I swear to God, absolutely not."
Xia Zhiheng raised his palms, making a classic scumbag swearing gesture: "Now, I am actually a little bit happy."
"What's there to be happy about?" Zhang Jusong was both angry and amused, "Do you think you're happy if I embarrass you?"
"Of course not," Xia Zhiheng said with a smile, "I'm happy because my sister is willing to let me share your embarrassing moments."
??? Zhang Jusong was completely confused.
Xia Zhiheng moved closer to her and said, "If it had happened before, you would have run faster than a rabbit, not to mention calling me."
As he spoke, he made a rabbit gesture above his head. A 1.8-meter-tall boy making such a cute gesture made Zhang Jusong couldn't help laughing out loud.
Xia Zhiheng continued, "But now you are willing to call me sister. I am so happy."
He came closer and gently held her, resting his furry head on her shoulder, feeling a little heavy. "I want you to know that no matter what, I'm here. Even if it's something very embarrassing, I'll be with you."
"……""fool."
Zhang Jusong gave him a hug in return. The faint scent of citrus was refreshing and soothing.
Although it was completely different from what she expected, she felt at the moment that it didn't seem to matter.
As long as he is here, it's fine.
