Chapter 7

Chapter 7

"You dyed your hair blue-black? Qu Ling, how dare you?"

Zhang Jusong stood on tiptoe, touched the boy's hair, and received a roll of the eyes.

"Zhang Jusong, stop touching me."

"Don't be disrespectful. I am your sister."

"Hey, you're just a little older, why are you pretending to be an old lady?"

Qu Ling slightly turned sideways and grabbed Zhang Jusong's disruptive hand: "I warn you, stop it, you are almost turning me into a golden lion."

"It's the Blue-haired Lion King." Zhang Jusong said with a smile.

As soon as she stepped onto the land of her hometown, she felt more relaxed, like a plant that had been watered.

Her eyes swept across the pedestrians: "Where's my uncle?"

"Wait in the car, follow me."

The lights in the parking lot were dim and blurry, but Zhang Jusong still caught a glimpse of the familiar black car door.

Uncle Qu Song greeted her with a smile: "Our little princess is back."

It had been a long time since someone called him like that. Zhang Jusong felt his ears slightly hot. He called out "Uncle", but the curve of his mouth became more and more obvious.

My uncle opened the car door and said, "Let's go. There are lots of delicious food waiting for you at home! Qu Ling, put your luggage down quickly."

“Yes.”

Qu Ling stretched out his voice and responded lazily. He closed the trunk of the car with one hand, and like the attendants in the TV series, he stretched out his hand to Zhang Jusong: "Your Highness, please get in the car."

Zhang Jusong raised his hand and punched him.

"You're the only one who's annoying."

Qu Ling smiled, with a faint dimple on the corner of her mouth: "Okay, get in the car quickly, don't dawdle."

It was late at night, and there were not many cars on the road. The music radio was playing soft music, and the car windows reflected the street lights one after another, with cold white light and warm yellow light alternating forward, extending towards the direction of home.

Zhang Jusong lay on the leather sofa, looking very relaxed, chatting with his uncle in a casual manner.

"Are you doing okay at school?"

"fine."

"No one bullies you, right?"

"No, how could that be."

After staying alone outside for a long time, it is almost instinctive to report good news but not bad news, because one does not want to make his family worry about him.

As soon as you open the door, the aroma of food and the cool air from the air conditioner greet you, making you feel relaxed and happy.

Aunt Luo poked her head out of the kitchen and announced in a loud and joyful voice, "You're back!"

Zhang Jusong smiled and nodded to her, said hello, and walked quickly into the living room.

There was a rattan chair by the window, and her grandmother was sitting there. The old lady was old, and she had dozed off while sitting in the rattan chair, listening to the sound of the TV. Suddenly she woke up, saw the person in front of her clearly, and a smile appeared on her wrinkled face.

"We oranges are back."

"grandmother--"

Zhang Jusong stretched out her voice, and like a little girl acting like a spoiled child, she walked quickly to her grandmother.

Grandma smiled and stretched out her arms to embrace her.

Well, it was a hug with a faint scent of plaster, very warm.

"Oh, you become a three-year-old child in front of your grandma." Qu Ling's teasing voice came from behind.

Zhang Jusong turned around and glared at him, then hugged his grandmother tightly and said, "Humph, just go ahead and be jealous."

Qu Ling opened the refrigerator and asked, "Coke or Fanta?"

"Fanta, orange flavor!"

"You're not the one to tell me."

At this time, my aunt also came down from the second floor: "Are you back? Wash your hands and eat. Qu Ling! When your sister comes back, give her an iced drink. Be careful not to get an upset stomach."

"Why worry? She's stronger than a bull."

Zhang Jusong hit him again.

Qu Ling was not willing to be outdone and scratched her back.

Grandma laughed out loud when she saw the two kids fighting.

The room was bustling with activity.

Uncle took out some incense from the storage room, smiled and shook his head, and called Zhang Jusong: "Okay, okay, Juzi, come over and burn some incense, wash your hands and eat."

"Hey, I'll come."

Zhang Jusong pinched Qu Ling, then immediately stood up and ran away with a smile.

The incense stick is lit, white smoke curls up, and a red spark flickers, the fragrance makes people feel soothed.

She inserted the incense stick into the incense burner.

On both sides of the incense burner were a plate of apples and a bunch of orchids.

In the black and white portrait on the wall, mother Qu Zhi smiled gently.

"Mom, I'm back."

Zhang Jusong said with a smile.

Her uncle patted her shoulder and said, "Okay, go wash your hands and eat."

The round table turntable was filled to the brim.

Aunt Luo put on heat-insulating gloves and placed a can of soup in the middle: "Cuttlefish, lotus seeds and pork tripe soup. It's been simmered for a long time. Take a look. Doesn't it smell good?"

Zhang Jusong leaned forward to smell it: "It smells good, of course it smells good."

"That's right," Aunt Luo said as she helped her serve the soup, "I went to the market a long time ago to buy it, and I picked the best. Qu Ling, there's a small bowl of cold sweet wine in the kitchen, bring it over and let's share."

Qu Ling raised her eyebrows: "Yes, Madam."

In fact, by this time, the family had already eaten, but because they knew Zhang Jusong would be back tonight, they consciously ate less at dinner to save their stomachs for a midnight snack with her.

What you eat is not the most important thing. The restaurant's ceiling lamps cast a warm yellow light, and everyone sat together. No matter what they ate, the taste was not bad.

After supper, everyone went to wash up.

My aunt pressed the white panel switch of the main light in the bedroom. The windows were clean and the conical white gauze mosquito net was hung neatly. A teddy bear doll was placed in the middle of the pink and white princess bed. It was no different from when Zhang Jusong left.

"I bought a new thin quilt, and I thought you kids like to keep the air conditioner on all night, so I kept the old quilt. It was sunny yesterday, and Aunt Luo dried it in the sun."

Zhang Jusong pressed the quilt with his hand and said, "Thank you, Auntie and Aunt Luo for your concern."

"The family said thank you."

My aunt walked to the door, put her hand on the doorknob, and warned, "Your grandma doesn't sleep much and wakes up early, so there might be some movement. You are not like Qu Ling, who can't be awakened by thunder. Go to bed early, okay."

"Yeah," Zhang Jusong nodded, "Good night."

"good evening."

The door closed gently, returning the room to silence.

Zhang Jusong threw himself onto the bed and rolled over.

Alas, sleeping on a one-meter-wide single bed in the dormitory, what she missed most was the big bed at home.

She buried her head in the quilt, feeling the fluffy and soft touch, and the scent of the sun.

I reached out and grabbed the old teddy bear, holding it in my arms, as if I was hiding in the memories of the past.

A long-lost sense of security.

She just lay there quietly, thinking of nothing.

After about ten minutes, Zhang Jusong lazily sat up, pulled off the hair band with one hand, and reached for his cell phone with the other.

Hey, there is actually an unread message.

Xia Zhiheng sent: "Sister, I'm home, how about you?"

The time was an hour ago.

Zhang Jusong typed: "Yeah, I arrived early. I just had a midnight snack."

Two minutes later, Xia Zhiheng replied: "Ah, that's what I was going to say."

He sent a screenshot of his winnings.

"I won a barbecue meal for two in a lottery. It would be a waste for me to eat alone. How about you go with your boyfriend?"

Boyfriend? Zhang Jusong was confused and asked, "I have a boyfriend, how come I don't know I have one?"

The other party replied immediately: "Oh, sorry, I misunderstood (>人<)"

"Because I saw that the guy who came to pick you up was a handsome guy, so... I'm sorry!"

Zhang Jusong shook his head in amusement.

"That's my cousin."

Xia Zhiheng replied with a "I was wrong" cat emoticon, followed by a sentence: "Then...should we go eat together?"

Zhang Jusong hesitated for a few seconds.

If it was any other activity, she would definitely reject it immediately, but this is a barbecue.

While he was hesitating, Xia Zhiheng sent another new message: "Thank you sister for inviting me to dinner at University A last time. Please let me borrow your flowers to offer my gratitude to you once again."

Well, it’s best to get rid of the relationship as soon as possible, Zhang Jusong thought.

She has always not wanted to have anything to do with others, and being clean and honest is the most comfortable state.

Thinking of this, she typed a reply using the nine-square grid: "Okay, then let's go and get some wool together."
