Chapter 134

Chapter 134

"Oh, it's Teacher Xiang. Hello, my name is Deng Huan," Deng Huan introduced herself with a smile.

"Hello."

The conversation at the table was amicable. Jiang You silently lowered her head and ate her rice. After losing her strange attraction, she was just an invisible person in a small group.

There was no sense of disappointment; on the contrary, I felt relieved.

She ate with ease, enjoying the faint scent of mint, until the table fell silent. When she looked up, they were all staring at her.

Jiang You, confused, asked, "W-what's wrong?"

Deng Huan laughed heartily, revealing adorable dimples on her cheeks: "Everyone has introduced themselves to the teacher, and you're the only one left."

"Huh?" Jiang You subconsciously turned his head to look at the person next to him. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, revealing his strong, toned forearms. Noticing her gaze, he looked over with a smile in his phoenix eyes.

"Oh, hello Professor Xiang, my name is Jiang You, and I'm a second-year student in the Chinese Literature Department," Jiang You said politely as soon as he realized what was happening.

"Hello, Jiang You," Xiang Peiqing said, then looked at his forehead and asked curiously, "Hey, what happened to the injury on your head?"

The girls on the table had different expressions. At first glance, their last question seemed to be asking Pei Qing about the injury on Jiang You's forehead, but their tone was like that of a family member asking a question, with an air of familiarity.

Perhaps Xiang Peiqing is just a very curious person, and they don't know much about him.

Jiang You, needless to say, is reserved and doesn't have a strong sense of worthyness. As long as it's not made clear, even if she senses that the other person is interested in her, she will silently dismiss it as a delusion, a sexual attraction, or something like, "How could he possibly like me?"

Not everyone falls for the strange attraction.

The girl didn't notice anything unusual about Xiang Peiqing, nor did she hear the intimacy in his words. She was feeling a bit depressed because she hadn't been able to get the old Taoist priest to take a look at her during the New Year's Day hike, and had instead suffered a lot of misery.

Jiang You's expression remained unchanged. Just as he was about to politely say something, Deng Huan smiled and said, "She fell and had to get two or three stitches at the hospital."

Before coming to Blue Ocean School, the five of them asked about Jiang You's head injury, and he said he had fallen while walking. So everyone knew about it.

Xiang Peiqing frowned slightly and asked gently, "Does it hurt a lot?"

"Probably not?" Liu Yi said. "They'll give you anesthesia."

“Two or three injections shouldn’t be necessary,” another girl said. “I had a similar injury to my forehead before, and I didn’t get any injections.”

"Huh? No anesthesia, just stitches?" the pockmarked man interjected. "What's the difference between that and torture?"

Seeing that the topic had been diverted, and that Jiang You had only said one sentence to him from beginning to end, Xiang Peiqing's expression was not very good. Just as he was about to change the topic back, Jiang You picked up his plate and got up.

She ate very little to begin with, and she ate very quickly; by the time others had finished eating half of their meal, she had already finished.

"I'm done eating, I'm leaving now," Jiang You said, sandwiched between the two of them. When he came out, he had to let one of them move slightly from his seat.

Xiang Peiqing casually picked up some food and put it in her mouth. What should she do next?

Should the gentle and refined man step aside, or should he seize the opportunity to strike up a conversation?

He didn't know why, but when he saw the girl in the cafeteria, he realized what was happening and sat down next to her with his tray.

"Yang Fan," Jiang You called out, and the pimple-faced man, knowing she was going out, moved aside.

Xiang Peiqing paused in her eating, her thin lips pursed, and a gentle smile faded away.

Why didn't I ask him to move aside? I've only said one sentence to him since I sat down.

It's actually quite easy to understand, but Xiang Peiqing didn't want to understand. When she realized what was going on, she suddenly found herself being a bit unreasonable.

This discovery made him frown.

"By the way, Teacher Xiang, about the school..." Liu Yi asked.

Xiang Peiqing composed herself, a gentle smile playing on her lips, but her eyes remained devoid of emotion: "This is not within my jurisdiction. You should ask the teachers in the reception office."

The teacher, who was always ready to answer questions and was gentle and easy to talk to, suddenly became distant and indifferent. The speed of this change left the people at the table somewhat taken aback.

Xiang Peiqing ignored their opinions and looked at the plate with sudden disinterest, saying, "You guys eat slowly, I have class this afternoon."

He left with little interest, leaving several people bewildered.
