Chapter 203

Chapter 203

She moved slightly; it didn't hurt.

I felt sore and weak, my limbs felt limp and I couldn't muster any strength.

Jiang Youban propped himself up, and the sounds of typing and talking in the room abruptly stopped.

The room was very clean. Lu Shi'an was dressed casually, leaning against the wall, sitting cross-legged on a round cushion in the corner, lounging lazily with a silver notebook on his lap.

His hands rested on the keyboard, his face expressionless as he worked, but then he flashed her a smile that was as pure and refreshing as a summer soda.

Xia Yan, holding a phone at the other table, glanced at her, spoke a few words in English to the person on the other end, and then hung up.

"Awake?" he asked.

Jiang You sat up with her head down, her long black hair falling down to cover her face. Her index finger unconsciously picked at her other index finger, and she didn't say anything.

There was a dent in the edge of the bed. Lu Shi'an sat down next to her, took one of her hands, and whispered, "Stop picking at it."

He lowered his eyes and gently massaged her reddened fingertips, his eyelashes casting a faint shadow under his eyes, meticulous and focused.

Xia Yan frowned slightly, pursed her lips, and ultimately said nothing.

Pulled to a room next door, Jiang You watched an older woman setting out dishes and uttered his first words upon waking: "Where's my phone?"

Her voice was so hoarse that even she was taken aback.

Lu Shi'an blinked and immediately asked someone to bring her the phone. Xia Yan pushed the honey water next to her.

Jiang You grabbed his phone and immediately checked WeChat. Xia Bei had only one message: "I can't control him anymore."

She stood there dumbfounded. Xia Yan, sitting next to her, glanced at her and clicked his tongue softly.

The aunt paused in her serving of food: "What's wrong?"

Looking over from across the way, Lu Shi'an saw Jiang You remain silent and put away his phone.

"It's nothing," Xia Yan said with a gentle smile.

After the aunt finished setting out the dishes, she went downstairs. On the table were stir-fried seasonal vegetables, steamed fish, steamed egg custard, stir-fried shrimp, and black chicken soup.

Xia Yan picked up her chopsticks and took a bite. Seeing that Jiang You didn't move, she said calmly, "You slept for a whole day and a half. You can't eat greasy food."

Jiang You lowered her head and remained unmoved, using silence as a form of resistance, after all, she had no other choice.

Xia Yan raised an eyebrow: "You're not going to eat? Fine, I'll feed you in a bit."

Jiang You's fingertips twitched; she didn't want to be fed. She didn't know how many days had passed, but now, smelling the aroma of food, her stomach was churning with hunger, and she wanted to eat large mouthfuls.

As his bottom line was gradually lowered, Jiang You wondered why he had to punish himself (by going hungry) to rebel.

Since you'll inevitably be force-fed anyway, it's best to start eating right away.

There's no other way, is there?

If you can't escape it, then enjoy it, but I still can't stand group sex.

At this moment, Lu Shi'an appropriately placed a shrimp into her bowl and smiled, saying, "It's not good for your health to go hungry."

Time stretched out infinitely, and Jiang You, who remained motionless like a sculpture, picked up his chopsticks.

She didn't realize that by constantly hesitating and giving in, as time went on, those things that she initially found extremely difficult to accept gradually became commonplace, and in the end, they didn't seem like such a big deal.

Turn "unwillingness" into "it should be this way", and "occasional" into "normal".

The girl wasn't the type to think about suicide at the first sign of trouble; Xia Bei said she wasn't tough at heart and could be worked down slowly.

Jiang You had barely taken two bites when Xia Yan and Lu Shi'an finished eating and put down their chopsticks.

They were busy. At the dining table, Xia Yan was typing on his laptop, the light from the screen reflecting on his face, flickering.

When he is focused on his work, his expression is as if it has been muted, revealing no emotion whatsoever, appearing distant and indifferent.

Lu Shi'an was the same; his fingertips slid and tapped on the tablet, making a soft "tap-tap" sound. His usual sunny smile was replaced by a blank, calm expression.

The room was quiet, except for the sound of her chewing. Jiang You kept her head down and ate, still unsure how to face them.
