Chapter 225
"ah!"
Startled, she fell backward from her crouching position, the picture frame slipped from her fingers and crashed to the ground with a piercing 'bang'.
He raised his eyebrows slightly, his gaze slowly shifting away with an air of languid indifference, finally settling on her eyes.
“I’ve switched shifts with someone,” he said in his usual voice, “and we can work together again.”
Still in disbelief, Jiang You's voice rose as he heard Theodore's nonchalant words: "Is this what you wanted to say?"
How could he be so calm and collected, as if he hadn't done anything wrong, as if she had misunderstood him?
If having the same name is a coincidence, then is looking exactly like someone in a photo also a coincidence?
His beautiful, sun-like golden eyes stared at her as he took a few steps forward, squatted down in front of her, and asked innocently, "What else should I say?"
“You’re a man, you’re the buyer, the owner of this castle, you’ve been lying to me all along, you…” How could you lie to me?
Jiang You's emotions were extremely complex, including panic and fear, anger and annoyance, and finally, he felt it was all so absurd that his eyes gradually filled with tears.
How can I put it? I never had pocket money growing up and never made a lasting friend.

She had lived an extremely mundane life for nineteen years, but ever since that summer when she met Xia Yan, the story has been constantly challenging her values and bottom line.
Theodore didn't understand her anger. Anyone with a modicum of normalcy would have shown guilt or unease by now, but his indifference and calmness left her with nowhere to vent her anger, making her feel tired and powerless.
“I’m lying to you?” Theodore said. “Haven’t you been talking to yourself the whole time?”
What? Jiang You discovered that she wasn't tired at all, and could still get angry.
“No, you can’t,” Theodore interrupted her indifferently. “You belong to me and my brother. You can’t leave us.”
“Besides, Jiang You is really going too far,” he said with a troubled expression and a faint voice, his semi-transparent eyes locking onto her like a lion on the prairie. “You said we would be together forever, and those who break their promises will be punished.”
"I wasn't saying that to you!" Jiang You blurted out, "Besides...and..."
"Are you crying?" Theo interrupted her as Jiang You watched that alluring and seductive face approach her.
He slightly parted his lips, and Jiang You froze, a moist and warm sensation spreading across the corner of her eye.
"Mmm...salty," he said, flicking his tongue as he licked her tears, following the tear tracks all the way down to her chin, where he cleaned the tears before moving them to his lips.
Why did things suddenly develop in this direction?
