Chapter 85
Pushing open the heavy walnut-colored wooden door leads to the principal's office.
The first thing you see is a huge walnut wood desk, which occupies the center of the room. Several beautifully framed calligraphy and paintings hang on the wall, and green plants are placed in the corner.
A calm and solemn atmosphere swept over her, carrying an inexplicable sense of oppression. Jiang You shrank back slightly; she was not used to being in this kind of space.
Voices came from the innermost room. Professor Wang told her to wait there for a while and then went to stand at the door of the innermost room.
“Yes, yes, yes,” Professor Wang responded to the people in the room, then turned to say, “Xiao Jiang, come here.”
Jiang You took a deep breath and walked forward. Inside, there was a sofa and a coffee table.
The sofa is a low-key yet luxurious dark brown, paired with soft cushions, and an exquisite tea set sits on the coffee table, emitting a fragrant aroma of tea.
Several people were sitting on the sofa. Jiang You immediately spotted the principal on the sofa, talking to the person in front of him.
"You must be Jiang You from the Chinese Literature Department?" The principal waved her kindly when he saw her. "Don't stand there, come and sit down."
She awkwardly went over and sat down, placing her hands on her lap, sitting upright, looking as obedient as could be.
"Comrade Xia, this is Jiang You."
As the principal began to speak, Jiang Youcai followed the words and looked at the person to the side. Immediately afterward, her pupils slightly contracted.
The man leisurely flipped through the blue folder, his features exquisite, his lips like red pearls, and his face like the bright moon.
The crisp black executive coat made the aloof and cold man appear gentle and refined, while the thin-rimmed glasses on his face added to his aloofness and coldness.
What an amazing man! It would be even better if he weren't Xia Yan's brother.
Jiang You pursed his lips slightly, his right hand unconsciously fiddling with his left. What a coincidence.
If they find out about her relationship with Song Yun, her older brother will definitely protect her, and she'll be doomed.
She was lost in thought, her gaze meeting Xia Bei's.
My heart skipped a beat. The other person's light-colored pupils were like a hungry beast glowing green in the dark, locking onto its prey.
The man casually looked away, lowered his gaze, and continued looking at the folder.
This businesslike attitude must mean it was just a coincidence that she was chosen.
Jiang You calmed herself down. Those oppressive eyes were so much like Xia Yan's, it was as if she were seeing Xia Yan when they first met, looking at her with the same aggressive gaze.
She suppressed her strange feelings, a stiff smile on her face, and sat nervously.
Xia Bei put down the folder, said some words to the principal that Xia Bei couldn't understand, and then stood up.
"Xiao Jiang, it's your turn to introduce our school to Mr. Xia," the principal said earnestly, patting her on the shoulder and looking into her eyes.
Jiang You nodded stiffly and followed behind Xia Bei.
After walking a certain distance, the man said to a middle-aged man and a young man beside him, "It's just me and this child. You can go back now."
The two men exchanged a few polite compliments and then left.
Jiang You acted like an NPC, following Xia Bei wherever he went, without asking where he was going or speaking to him, until they reached the underground parking garage.
The dim yellow light seemed to have been swallowed by darkness, illuminating only a small area, while the surroundings remained thick and blurry.
The back door of a black car was open, and a man leaned his upper body inside.
Due to the movement, the black coat slid up, revealing a white shirt clinging to her skin and a textured belt with a cool sheen, perfectly showcasing her slender waist.
The pants, too, clung tightly to the skin due to the movement, showcasing the perfectly round and perky buttocks.
He looks like a male protagonist straight out of a Korean comic, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist.
Jiang You stood obediently to the side, rubbing his burning ears and shyly watching silently.
"I'm too eye-catching in this outfit, I'll change into something else," Xia Bei said casually, getting out of the car with a white bag in her hand.
"Jiang, what's wrong? Why are your ears so red?" he asked with concern.
Jiang You stammered, "I..."
Before she could think of an answer, Xia Bei stepped forward, his icy hand touching her earlobe. He looked down at her calmly, his hand caressing her earlobe.
Jiang You, startled, quickly took a few steps back: "You, you..."
"Xiao Jiang, your ears are really burning hot," Xia Bei said, like an elder showing concern for a younger person. "Do you need me to take you to the hospital?"
In the underground parking garage, under the light and shadow, Jiang You couldn't see Xia Bei's expression. She shook her head anxiously, "I'm really fine. It must be because the underground parking garage is too stuffy."
"Oh, I see," Xia Bei said in a nonchalant tone, sounding somewhat indifferent.
