Chapter Seventy-Nine

Chapter Seventy-Nine

The younger brother shook his head and said with a smile:

“Young Master An, you know perfectly well that the people over there don’t like us. As soon as I got close, Xue Yunlu and Shi An kicked me away. How could I possibly see what Xia Yan’s woman looks like? However, I did see that the Xu family’s daughter was also there.”

Shen Yi'an smiled enigmatically: "Could it be that he brought in a woman to keep him company? Tsk, looks like he's serious?"

Jiang You was unaware that people were talking about her. After returning to the villa, Xia Yan did not let her out again for the rest of the time.

Day and night.

In particular, he liked to feed her some fruit wine, and when she was slightly tipsy, all her senses were amplified. His hands would wander over her body, and the boy's eyes would be calmly filled with tenderness.

"Youyou, are you drunk?"

"Youyou, I love you so much."

"Youyou, we will be together forever."

"Right, right..."

Jiang You opened his eyes from his dream. The room was familiar, and the familiar boy was sitting behind the table wearing a V-neck linen gray long-sleeved shirt, writing and drawing something.

Xia Yan noticed her movement, looked up at her, and smiled gently, "Awake?"

Jiang You nodded, and for a moment, he was in a daze as his foot touched the ground.

My legs felt like they hadn't touched the ground in a long time; it felt like I was walking on cotton, and a sense of weightlessness washed over me.

She sat on the bed, unaware of what day it was.

"Youyou, the results of the investigation into those people who made things difficult for you the other day are in."

"Um?"

"Their parents not only evaded taxes, but also had a fatal land dispute over factory construction. At school, they bullied female classmates, leading one to commit suicide. These are just the publicly known facts; the private details..."

Upon hearing about the suicide by jumping off a building, Jiang You's heart skipped a beat. She pursed her lips and asked, "What was the outcome of their investigation?"

"Of course, everything will be judged according to the law, but with my involvement, there is absolutely no possibility of a lenient sentence."

Xia Yan said casually, and then added, "You seem very interested. This matter has been reported in the news, and all the details are in it."

Jiang looked around but didn't see her phone. Instead, she saw Xia Yan's iPad on the table and picked it up to use it.

Because he often played games on her iPad, he knew perfectly well that the password was her birthday.

Soon, her eyes reddened. The victim was so pitiful. What was that girl, raised by her grandmother, who said she would go to university and give her grandmother a good life, thinking when she committed suicide?

If it weren't for Xia Yan, would these things have ever come to light?

"Why are you crying again?" Xia Yan appeared in front of her at some point, wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes with a tissue, sat down next to her, and hugged her waist tightly.

He rested his chin on her shoulder and nuzzled it. His amber eyes caught sight of the words on the screen, and his thin lips curved into a slight smile: "So it was your compassion that got the better of you? I really don't understand why you're shedding tears over these things."

“This isn’t the heart of a bodhisattva, it’s compassion and pity,” Jiang You said, disliking Xia Yan calling her “little bodhisattva.”

She doesn't like people talking about her behind her back, so she'll kill them or cause them to lose everything and their families to be destroyed.

Isn't this the mentality of a normal person? Who would want to ruin someone's life and cause their family to be destroyed just because someone said a few bad things about them?

Similarly, it's normal for her to feel sympathy and shed tears when she sees victims and to curse perpetrators.

Why label someone with a normal mindset as having a bodhisattva's heart? It just feels weird and strange.

"This female classmate is neither your friend nor your family member, a complete stranger. Why do you pity her?" Xia Yan casually wrapped a strand of the girl's hair around his index finger and then let go, his tone somewhat puzzled.

In Young Master Xia's worldview, wasting emotions on irrelevant people is doing charity. Isn't that the heart of a bodhisattva?

"This is not what a human being should do..."

Xia Yan looked up, met her eyes, and chuckled softly, "Should what?"

Her exquisitely beautiful features, both alluring and otherworldly, seemed to enhance her beauty, possessing an inexplicable and fatal allure.

Jiang You stared intently at him. Even though she had already experienced the cold-bloodedness of the wealthy, she still found the person in front of her extremely terrifying.

What's even more frightening is that the person involved didn't realize there was anything wrong with it.

"It's nothing," she said, looking down at the tablet. They were from two different worlds and would eventually separate, so there was no point in arguing with him.

Xia Yan gazed at the girl before him, the smile on his lips fading slightly. He frowned slightly, pondered for a moment, and then chuckled softly:

"Youyou, we're going to spend our whole lives together. You have to speak up about what you're thinking. Even if I can't fully understand right now, please believe me, I will listen carefully and try my best to understand you."

Jiang paused with his right hand, then shook his head again: "It's really nothing."
