Chapter 4 How could a man possibly be a magical girl?

The three magical girls, Magenta, Azure, and Sulfur, stood frozen in place, gazing at the devastated battlefield in the distance.

Especially the large group of monsters that were ferocious just a second ago, turned into a pile of corpses the next second, a truly miserable sight.

This stark contrast left them all somewhat incredulous for a moment.

"Azure, Sulfur, did you see that? That...that big brother is so amazing, so brave! It's unbelievable, could it be...that he's a magical girl too?!" Magenta pointed at Lorraine in the distance and excitedly asked her teammates.

"Are you stupid? How could a magical girl be a man? That man couldn't possibly be a magical girl." Sulfur thought Magenta's brain must be broken, although she did admit that the other party was quite amazing.

"That man single-handedly killed twenty monsters... he's really amazing, but I didn't sense any magical energy from him. What's going on? Does he not have any magic at all?" Azure was completely baffled.

...

Just then, the monster corpses lying on the ground gradually turned into particles and disappeared.

Knowing the battle was over, Lorraine heard the chattering of the magical girls over there. Her cold-blooded eyes, still not fully awake, glanced in their direction.

In an instant.

The crimson and azure figures, feeling a chill creep into their hearts, instinctively huddled together in fear.

Sulfur, with a serious expression, immediately stepped forward to shield his companion, preventing the man from doing anything dangerous to him.

——

Seeing the frightened expressions of the two magical girls, Magenta and Azure, in the distance, Lorraine realized she shouldn't have acted that way; the battle was over.

His gaze was no longer cold; it softened again.

But he ignored them.

Every wrong has its perpetrator, and every debt has its debtor. Lorraine knew this wasn't their fault. Since he had already taken his revenge, there was no need for him to stay any longer.

Lorraine turned and left, walking towards the street in the distance.

at this time.

As Crimson and Azure were holding hands and snuggling together, Crimson watched Azure's retreating figure in silence. For some reason, she suddenly felt that the figure looked somewhat lonely and desolate, a feeling of solitude that touched her slightly.

"Hey! Wait a minute!"

The words of pleading rang out from her lips, though even she herself didn't know why she was trying to persuade the other person to stay.

What should be said next?

She didn't know any of this, but she couldn't help but shout it out suddenly, so much so that Azure and Sulfur beside her looked at her strangely.

——

But unfortunately.

Lorraine ignored her plea to stay, and his figure quickly disappeared around the corner.

——

"Magenta? What's wrong with you? Why did you suddenly call out to that man?" Azure asked, puzzled.

“Yes, that man is of unknown origin and extremely powerful, even comparable to us magical girls. We should stay away from him, right?” Sulfur thought her actions just now were a mistake.

In response to this.

Magenta simply gazed in the direction the other person had left, pondered for a moment, and then smiled again, replying to the two of them.

"Don't say that. They did help us eliminate the monsters, so we should at least thank them."

Sulfur sighed.

"Thank you? He just walked away without even turning his head. He probably didn't want to talk to you at all."

"No, I didn't do anything bad that would make the other person angry."

"It's best not to have too much contact with that kind of dangerous and suspicious man."

"Isn't it too heartless to do this to someone who just helped you?"

"What if the other party is a bad person?"

"Bad guys won't help our magical girls, right?"

"Ugh, you're too trusting of others."

"Hehe, I believe there are still more good people than bad in this world!"

Her rosy cheeks radiated a confident, sunny smile.

Sulfur was at a loss as to how to communicate with this teammate.

She looked at Azure, hoping the other would also stand on her side and speak up for Magenta, but... when she looked at Azure, she realized that the other was also staring in the direction the man had left. She asked, "Azure?"

"Huh? Eh? What's wrong?"

"Why are you looking in that direction too? You're not thinking of thanking them like Yang Hong, are you?"

"Oh no..."

Azure confessed somewhat shyly, "I was just thinking... how wonderful it would be if that man were also a magical girl. It would be so reassuring to have such a powerful companion by my side."

"I've already said, how could a magical girl be a man? Are you an idiot too?"

"I... I was just saying it offhand."

"Seriously, they're supposed to be magical girls, so how come they all suddenly become so infatuated with men that they can't walk straight?"

"No, no, I didn't!"

"Ah, right, right, right..."

With her cute face flushed slightly from shyness, Azure wanted to continue explaining something.

Sulfur, however, didn't want to hear any more.

Now that the battle is over, she felt they should go back.

...

...

dusk.

Lorraine lay alone on a park bench, surrounded by empty wine bottles. He was heartbroken and devastated...
