Chapter 24 Leave a Tail

Ah Yi heard a jumble of sounds—excited, restless, unrestrained, savage, and malicious laughter, like that of gang members torturing them.

The plan was a success. Ah Yi, who had gathered some beggar children, successfully kidnapped some of them. One of them was of particularly high status and was even more contemptuous of him. He also had a person who was specially protecting him.

If he hadn't been led into the alley, he might not have been able to kidnap him. But all that is in the past. The result was gratifying. He gathered seven beggar boys and kidnapped ten children. The three with the highest status were still sons of merchants.

There were six men and four women, with a significant number of girls. They were all unconscious and it took the people with hands for a long time to drag them away and tie them up.

After all, there were only eight people in total, not enough to form two complete pairs of hands and feet. It was only because these young masters and ladies were unconscious that they could have been defeated.

"Boss, what do we do next?"

The beggar children were poorly educated and of lowly status, but now that they had successfully kidnapped them, they had become quite arrogant. Their faces were filled with the desire to escape that Ah Yi had instigated, as well as their longing and expectations for the future, and their malice towards those young masters and ladies, especially the latter. A few of the more unruly ones had already started groping and touching them inappropriately.

"Let me ask you, do you still want revenge on those guys?"

What's next? Of course, we'll sacrifice you all. How far can a bunch of deformed, broken-limbed creatures run? What use are a bunch of spoiled brats?

Ah Yi's eyes were indifferent. In his earlier years, he could empathize with these people, until one time when several beggar children he cared for ganged up on him and started to bully him and steal his money. Ah Yi then became acutely aware of the difference between pigs and dogs and humans.

Then let these pigs and dogs pave the way for him.

"I wish I could kill all of them!"

"I want to break their arms and legs too, so they can only eat while crawling on their stomachs every day!"

"I want revenge! I hate! I hate everyone!"

The submissive group once again united in their hatred of the enemy at A-Yi's words, and seeing that the time was almost right, A-Yi looked up at the sky outside the woodshed.

If that important person hadn't come, he would probably have died here anyway. Well, maybe he would have lived a little longer, but he would definitely have died, since he was also a deformed person.

"Yes, why are we different? We are all human beings, so why can some people have parents who love them, go to school, and eat candy?"

And we have to eat swill, drink dirty water, be beaten and verbally abused—even dogs live better than us? This is so unfair! We've had enough of this life! We're going to get revenge!

Ah Yi pointed to the group of children on the ground.

"And these people are the kids who look down on us, curse us, and beat us. They're all kids. The basis for their carefree lives is that they bully us. The money they have is also taken from us!"

So now we must take revenge on them! Let them know our suffering too!

There is no need for a reason to do evil, and no one cares about the target when venting their anger. The beggars, whose anger and hatred were aroused by A-yi, naturally stared intently at those who were dressed in fine clothes, ate good food, and were beautiful and handsome and called young masters and young ladies.

Ah Yi told them how to take revenge. There was a cellar in the house, which the owner had secretly dug, and the mud was mixed together to form an adobe house.

This is the edge of Qingmang City, a mysterious place left behind after a past flood. No one knows what happened here, but the once prosperous city is now desolate and lonely.

Ah Yi once cared because he lost his childhood and his parents here, and this house...

The cellar door was slowly opened, revealing a long, dark, winding passage. Ah Yi let them go in one by one, not caring much about what would happen inside, but he left two people behind.

One was the girl he originally intended to target, the other two were the girl's brother and the boy with guards. Ah Yi opened one of the compartments of the cellar's wooden shelf, and with his head and hands outstretched, he threw the three people in through the opening. No one would have thought that there was another cellar beneath the first one.

I'm grateful to my father for building the sliding cellar entrance so that it would be easier for the children to play, even though my mother complained countless times that it was difficult to get things out that way.

Just then, another crow came over. It looked at Ah Yi, who naturally knelt down and kowtowed, respectfully calling him "Master."

"You did a good job, so I'll give you a little help in return."

"If you have the guts, you might as well replace that captain's son."

Dao Chengyi looked at the child with appreciation; he would not be stingy with those who had ability.

"Sir, can you grant me his memories?"

Ah Yi tilted his head back, his eyes fixed intently on the crow that flew in.

"Of course, but you'll need to take some risks."

A proper replacement is a troublesome matter, especially replacing a healthy child with a disabled beggar, since muscle development and physical health are flaws.

But Dao Chengyi had a wonderful idea: what's the big deal if a person's brain is completely imprinted in another child's head?

Failure is not a big loss, and success might allow us to verify the new direction of the Gu worm. Let's see if this child can give us another surprise.

So Dao Chengyi threw two Gu worms, which looked like brains, in front of the child, instructing him to eat one himself and the other to give to the son of the city defense captain.

The rest was a plan to frame someone, which was naturally prepared for Yin Liujiao, who was ready to die.
