Chapter 34: Rebirth, Eleventh Day Then this must be my child...

Rebirth Day 11:

Half an hour ago, Wendy was brought to Garp's office by Aokiji.

Garp was chewing on rice crackers and drinking tea. He was surprised to see Wendy coming, but he was not too surprised and quickly welcomed her in.

"Why are you here? Why are you with Aokiji again? Are Luffy and the others okay? Oh, but you came at the right time. I can take you to Zephyr..." Garp chattered on and on, but was interrupted by Wendy halfway through his words.

"Luffy looks quite energetic. By the way, Uncle Garp, is Ace Roger's son?" Wendy asked curiously in a normal voice.

Garp nearly tripped and fell, his senbei (rice crackers) falling to the ground. He didn't care, though; he didn't even bother to pick them up. He even accidentally stepped on them a few times. He glanced around nervously, making sure no one was around to hear him before he let out a long sigh.

"Wendy, how... did you know that?" Garp said with a serious expression.

"Dadan and the others told me." Wendy blinked.

"Those idiots—" Karp couldn't help but grit his teeth and slammed the table hard.

"Can't you tell me?" Wendy looked confused.

"It's not that... I don't believe you, Wendy." Garp was a little hesitant for a moment, but he smiled and explained, "This is because it's a very important matter. If it gets known, it will cause a lot of trouble and even cause death..."

"Huh?" Wendy was stunned. "Then why did you tell Dadan and the others? They can't keep their mouths shut."

Karp: "..." Well, that's a good question.

"Does Ace know about this?" Wendy asked again.

"He knows..."

"If they know it, then I can know it too!" Wendy said dissatisfiedly, with her hands on her hips.

Garp: "..." There's no comparison at all!

But since Wendy already knew, there was nothing he could do... Apart from giving her a few more instructions, there was nothing else he could do.

Facing Wendy's curious gaze, his originally solemn expression gradually softened, his eyes tinged with a hint of nostalgia: "Actually... you look a bit like Ace's mother."

The strong woman who gave birth to Ace also had long wavy golden hair decorated with flowers.

Garp sighed deeply, and after confirming that there was no one around, he talked to Wendy about the past.

Ace's mother, Portgas Luju, was already pregnant when the Pirate King Roger was captured. The Navy then arrived on her island and began checking all pregnant women, hoping to nip any chance of Roger's child in the bud.

In order to protect Ace, Lu Jiu forced him to stay in her belly for 20 months, and finally died after giving birth to Ace.

Garp was entrusted by Roger on his deathbed to bring Ace back to his home and raise him as his own grandson.

"I want Ace to become an excellent navy... Only by becoming a navy can I protect him..." Garp said with a heavy sigh, looking like he was worried.

Wendy was even more confused: "Then why don't you just not tell Ace about his background and train him well to become a marine?"

Ace has been told everything. Everyone knows that the navy was the murderer who directly executed his biological father and indirectly killed his biological mother. Yet he is still allowed to become a navy. Isn't this a joke?

Karp choked and retorted, "That would be cheating, and that's certainly not okay."

Then telling Dadan and making them wary and afraid wouldn't be a good thing, right?

Wendy still felt that there was something wrong with what Garp said, but she had already filled in the story of Ace's mother, and the story column of [Portgas D. Ace] in the system did not change.

Seeing that Garp couldn't get any more information out of her, Wendy didn't want to waste any more time and quickly moved on to another plot point: "Then do you know how O'Hara died?"

Garp thought Wendy was here to collect a debt. Why were her questions getting more serious than the last?

He checked his surroundings again. But this time, before he could finish, Wendy called out to her sister Abigail, going into rage mode... and then Abigail went to fight Garp.

"...Ah, I almost forgot, Uncle Garp, you're not my companion." Wendy scratched her head a little embarrassedly, comforted Abigail, and put her back into Abigail's flower. "But she only attacked you and nothing else, which proves that there's no one else around here."

After all, Abigail has a group attack, and any non-friendly units in this range will be attacked.

Cap was caught off guard by the ghost and was confused. He didn't understand what Wendy said, but he roughly understood that this was Wendy's way of detecting whether there was anyone around... But this ghost attack mode was really surprising.

Caputo glanced at Wendy and frowned: "How do you know O'Hara?"

Wendy didn't hide it: "I learned it from Long."

Although it wasn't Long who said it, it was the map that Long gave her, so there's no need to round it off, so it was Long who told her.

"...That brat! Doesn't he know what to say and what not to say?" Garp gritted his teeth, feeling that his son was really unreliable.

However, this was a mess caused by his own son. Although it was a headache, Garp could only bite the bullet and explain: "O'Hara Island was destroyed by the government for some reason... If Long didn't tell you the details, then don't ask too much. Knowing too much will not do you any good."

Wendy suddenly realized: "Is it the same as the White Town?"

Cap was the one who was surprised: "Do you know White Town?"

Wendy didn't answer, instead contemplating the situation on her own. It looked like this was part of the dark side of the Navy... both White Town and O'Hara. In that case, she couldn't tell them about Luo and Rocinante. They'd destroyed White Town, so they certainly wouldn't let Luo survive.

Wendy felt that Luo was better than the navy man she had never met, who ran away alone and still remembered to take the informer's heart to try to revive her.

No matter how you look at it, Luo Du is definitely her future partner, but the people on the navy side are different. They don't even give her a wooden sign.

Wendy wasn't surprised that Garp didn't finish these two long-running plotlines. At least one plot point had moved forward.

[Story in Progress: O'Hara's Secret]: You learned about O'Hara's existence from the map shared by Long, but Aokiji told you that the island no longer exists. Garp said it was the World Government's doing, but the reason is unknown...

Wendy thought maybe it was time for her to go find the dragon.

After making up her mind, Wendy, who was originally sitting, jumped up and said, "Okay! I'm leaving now!"

"Okay, wait a minute! You've come all the way here, wait a minute! I haven't introduced you to any suitable navy here yet!" Garp hurriedly tried to stop her.

"I've thought about it and decided I shouldn't join the navy anymore," Wendy retorted, frowning. "I just ran into Kuzan, and he wouldn't even let me put up a sign. I feel like I'm not free, and it seems like no one supports me."

She had thought the Navy would have plenty of people like Rosinante... but now that didn't seem to be the case. Anyway, she had Garp as a connection within the Navy, so she could go along with the story, so it didn't matter if she didn't have the others.

"What... that Kuzan brat?!" Garp was shocked. "What did that brat say to you?! Aren't you looking for the navy? What are you looking for? Are you going to look for pirates? Could it be Shanks?!"

The last time Shanks confused Luffy and made him become a pirate, he felt something was wrong! Could it be that Wendy was also caught in the trap?!

As for the wooden signs and the like, he simply couldn't understand them!

But he would soon find out what the wooden sign was - because Wendy started to build the wooden sign on the spot in his office.

"Yeah!" Wendy responded heavily, turning around and giving Garp a bright smile, "I'm going to look for Dragon first! Then I'll see if Shanks and the others are nearby. If they are, I'll go over there again!"

Go to Long to get the cloak and ask about O'Hara, then go to Shanks to ask about Roger!

After saying that, Wendy used the teleportation sign to leave, leaving Garp standing there in amazement.

...No! Didn't I tell you! That brat Long isn't worth it at all... Okay, Wendy sees there's a second choice... But Shanks isn't a good guy either!

Garp's heart was in turmoil, and it took him a long time to come back to his senses.

He walked to the wooden sign left by Wendy, studied it for a long time with a puzzled look on his face, and found that it really looked like just an ordinary wooden sign, so he simply ignored it and ran angrily to find Aokiji, the culprit who made Wendy change her mind.

Then, there was the conversation just now.

Being interrupted like this, Zhan Guo couldn't help but look at Aokiji. After looking at him for a while, he also thought that this was probably Aokiji's fault: "Did you scare the girl?"

Aokiji: “…” No, it’s actually the other way around.

Although Aokiji believed that he was wronged, neither Sengoku nor Garp believed him.

Garp still looked dejected - the only child in their family who was originally close to the navy had now defected to another side...

Look at it, there are three children in the family, one became the leader of the revolutionary army, one said he wanted to be the Pirate King, and the other was close to the revolutionary army and pirates... This family seems to be really hopeless, and anyone who hears about it will be sad and cry.

While the Admiral's office was bustling with activity, Wendy teleported all the way back to her home in Windmill Village.

She had also placed wooden signs on the Revolutionary Army's ships before. She tried it and found that the number of wooden signs transmitted to the Revolutionary Army's ships was much less than before. She thought that this must be because Long and his men had gone out to sea and were closer to the East China Sea than before.

Just looking at the consumption rate, it's still a long way off... Never mind, let's just wait a little longer.

Wendy opened the refrigerator at home and stuffed a lot of meat into her mouth. Then she checked the stock in the refrigerator and found that there was less meat, so she went to Windmill Village to exchange some.

Although she could go find monster meat herself, finding monster meat here required going to the mountains, which was rather troublesome. She had picked a lot of oranges on the orange island last time, which she could trade with Makino for meat.

After working for a while, looking at the refrigerator that had become full again, Wendy contentedly filled it with 40 meatballs and stored them, and then gave ten of them to go up the mountain to find Luffy.

But when she arrived at the bandit's hut, she found it seemed a little too lively...

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Dadan was wailing over there, holding his head. He looked relieved when he saw Wendy coming, and came over to complain, "Please take care of this, Miss Wendy! Luffy and Ace are fine, and we can't get them back even if Garp forced them on us...but this one who came out of nowhere is absolutely unacceptable!"

"...Huh?" Wendy tilted her head and looked at the blond little boy wearing a top hat besides Ace and Luffy. Her eyes lit up and she said happily, "He has blond hair too! Since no one recognizes him, then this must be my child!"

Luffy was shocked: "What?! So Sabo, you are Wendy's child?!"

The little boy who was called Sabo was stunned, with a hint of hesitation on his face: "Huh? Is, is that so..."

"...How is that possible! You two idiots!" Ace roared from the side, then fired back at Wendy, "And you! Is your habit as a woman to randomly recognize children?!"
