After bringing Mr. Ji home, the Ji family became more lively.
Gu Hanqiu felt that there was a surplus of men in the family. Except for her and Ji Mingzhu, all the other members were men, which made her speechless.
What is more gratifying is that their family status has risen sharply.
Of course, the specific reference here is to Ji Mingzhu. Gu Hanqiu's status in the family has never been low. Even if Grandpa Ji comes back, she is still the person who has the final say in the family.
Seeing that there were more and more things in the house since the old man came back, Gu Hanqiu felt that moving was imminent.
After everyone voted, they chose a three-courtyard quadrangle just a few kilometers away from the military compound as their new home.
After choosing a house, I couldn’t move in for a while.
After years of turmoil, those courtyard houses were almost ruined and had to be renovated before they could be lived in.
Thinking that the other courtyard houses were the same, Gu Hanqiu decided to renovate them together to avoid further trouble in the future.
A siheyuan must have its own style. Gu Hanqiu went to an art school and found a teacher who was proficient in this field, and replanned the layout based on the original one.
Thinking that this yard might be where she and Ji Yingfeng would live in their old age, Gu Hanqiu had many modern designs added.
For example, water, electricity and heating,
As for building materials, Gu Hanqiu also chose the best.
Living in a siheyuan, doesn’t it give you that antique feeling?
Therefore, when repairing the courtyard, Gu Hanqiu built it according to the style of ancient gardens.
Fortunately, Gu Hanqiu has earned a lot of money over the years, otherwise the salaries of the men in the Ji family would not be enough to spend.
These were all the leftovers from Gu Hanqiu's spending. Precious woods like golden nanmu, purple trembling wood, huanghuali, and agarwood were almost all taken out by her from the space, otherwise it would have cost her even more.
Although it cost a lot of money, the finished product is very pleasing.
After more than three months of restoration and renovation, their new home is finally ready for occupancy.
Gu Hanqiu also brought everyone to visit the courtyard.
Moving is a big deal, and people from the Ding and Gu families also came, and it was a lively occasion when they got together.
After Gu Hanqiu got out of the car, he personally helped the old man to the gate.
"Grandpa, look! We'll live here from now on!"
"Look at how good it is!"
"If there's anything you don't like, tell me and I'll ask someone to change it."
Old Master Ji looked up at the plaque above the gate with the words "Ji Mansion" written in black on a red background, and smiled happily.
“I like it! I like it!”
"My granddaughter-in-law has good taste. Look how beautiful this house is!"
Although Mr. Ji is still standing at the gate and has not walked into the yard to take a look, it does not prevent him from praising people.
After praising Gu Hanqiu, Mr. Ji took the lead and led everyone into the yard.
As you walk through the gate, you will see a screen wall facing you, on which are carved auspicious cloud patterns that symbolize good luck, guarding the big word "Ji" in the middle.
After walking around the screen wall, the view suddenly opens up and you see the lush courtyard with different kinds of flowers and plants.
The green bamboo groves not far away complement each other, making the flowers bloom and the grass grow lushly, which is refreshing.
In the middle, there is a small path paved with bluestone, which goes straight to the left and right and leads to the depths of the courtyard.
After passing through the garden, you will come to the second gate, which is the second courtyard. In the middle is the main house, with wing rooms on both sides, and three east and west auxiliary rooms.
Gu Hanqiu specially planned this second courtyard into several areas, including reception area, living area, and accommodation area.
The areas are separated by buildings or plants so that they do not affect each other.
The three courtyards at the back were divided by Gu Hanqiu into many small houses to accommodate the nanny and the security personnel who followed the old man.
In general, the layout of this courtyard is neat and orderly, with pavilions, towers, flying eaves and green tiles, intertwined roots, twists and turns, classic and elegant, yet majestic.
Just looking at it makes people feel happy.
From the moment we entered the door, everyone's admiration never stopped.
"Wow!"
"Xiao Qiu! You built this house really well!"
"I'm a rough and uneducated guy, and I don't even know how to describe how good-looking he is."
This is Gu Erquan, who has not had many years of education. He suffered from his lack of education and can only say that it looks good.
Uncle Ding and Kong Xue, two people with cultural connotations, have different words of praise.
"Not bad! Not bad!"
"The flowers are as colorful as brocade, the green willows are covered with mist, what a beautiful garden on earth."
"Yes! The green vines are caressed, and the carved railings are winding around. It's so beautiful."
Everyone was familiar with each other and was not restrained. They all ran towards the places that interested them.
Kong Xue, possessed by the literary youth, found a small hoe from somewhere and imitated Lin Daiyu to bury flowers in the garden.
Unfortunately, she married a rough man who didn't understand her romance and even asked her if she was sick.
Kong Xue was so angry that she threw away the hoe and chased Gu Shui to beat him.
The old man also knew how to enjoy himself. He took his son and grandson-in-law to find a pavilion to drink tea and play chess.
The little ones had disappeared long ago, and no one knew where they had gone.
Only Gu Hanqiu and Ji Yingfeng were left there.
When Ji Yingfeng looked at the exquisite courtyard with a different view at every step, the first thing that came to his mind was not the beauty, but the heartache.
He patted the back of Gu Hanqiu's hand, a hint of tenderness in his eyes, and said to her softly:
"Thank you for your hard work, wife!"
"It must have taken a lot of effort, didn't it?"
"I see that you look quite haggard. Are you tired?"
"Why don't you let Ji Heng help you? He's so free every day?"
