Chapter 186: Wo Zhixing

With such strength, breaking through this barrier is only a matter of time.

"No, this traitor's strength has increased so quickly? He's been hiding all along! We can't delay here any longer, we must retreat as soon as possible. There are still two people behind us who haven't made their move yet. If any of us stay here, it will be difficult to explain to our superiors!" one of the men in black shouted.

Hearing the man in black's words, another person added, "That's right. Take the unconscious person and retreat immediately! This mission has been a complete failure."

“No! Lord Zuli has worked so hard to set up the formation for so long and with such a grand scale. If this mission fails, how can we face him when we return?” another man in black said solemnly.

Indeed, their superiors went to great lengths to complete this task, but they still failed. The mission ended in failure; how could they possibly face their superiors with such a result?

"Bang!"

With a deafening roar, the captain transformed into a streak of light and crashed into the barrier. The barrier trembled violently, but it did not shatter! The captain's figure hovered above the barrier, and if he were to unleash the same attack as before, he could easily shatter it!

"I advise you to leave as soon as possible. If even one of you is left here, your superiors will never let you off the hook." However, the captain did not choose to continue attacking, but instead spoke slowly and calmly.

The members of the Crouching Dragon Sect had been with that force for a long time and were naturally very familiar with its affairs. Therefore, he knew that if these people failed to complete the task, they would be severely punished. However, this punishment was far less severe than what was expected, and one of them stayed behind.

If even one of them were to survive, it would mean that the power behind them was likely exposed, which was the last thing they wanted, and naturally, the punishment would be the greatest. Now that their captain had betrayed them, their most important task was not to capture the other two, but to kill their captain.

However, given their current strength, they were definitely not capable of killing them, so they had no choice but to retreat immediately.

The captain's figure floated in the air without saying anything more. The people immediately sprang into action. Two of them used the barrier to lift the unconscious person up. Soon, the people retreated and left.

Seeing them leave, the captain immediately descended slowly from mid-air and appeared in front of the two.

"Why did you let them go?" Wo Wan asked Chen Zhou with a stern face.

Chen Zhou shook his head and said, "I don't know either, you'll have to ask him."

"Who exactly is he? Why is he helping us?" Wo Wan continued to ask.

"You'll have to ask him that," Chen Zhou said helplessly.

"How come you don't know anything?" Wo Wan continued, her face stern.

Chen Zhou didn't answer further, but instead looked at the captain who had just landed. As soon as the captain landed on the ground, he immediately said to Chen Zhou, "I am a deacon of the Wolong Sect, named Wo Zhixing. I am an undercover agent. Today, my mission is complete, so I can finally return to my sect."

They watched as the man named Wo Zhixing slowly pulled off the black cloth wrapped around his head, and Chen Zhou and Wo Wan finally got a clear look at him.

This man looked somewhat similar to Woding, both being quite rugged-looking, but this man seemed to have a touch of handsomeness amidst his ruggedness, with a pair of sword-like eyebrows.

"I am the leader of the Three Schools of Wolong, and my name is Chen Zhou," Chen Zhou said honestly. Since he was a member of the Three Schools of Wolong, there was no need for him to hide it.

"What?! A leader?!" Wo Zhixing exclaimed in shock, his voice filled with disbelief. How long had he been away from the sect? Only a year! How could a new leader have emerged? How was this leader chosen? Could it be that the strange event at Qianlong Mountain, where the three factions of Wolong supposedly activated the temple, was true? That meant the new leader had been chosen by the phantom of the true dragon?

If that's the case, then the powerful pressure I felt from this man, the aura of a true dragon, can be explained.

Is this person really the leader of the three schools of Wolong?

“Sir, you’ve been away for so long, so naturally you’re unaware of what’s going on within the sect. I was only summoned back by my father a few days ago, and I just found out that he is indeed the man chosen by the true dragon’s phantom, and the new leader of our three sects of Wolong.” Wo Wan explained to Wo Zhixing, who was still incredulous.

Hearing Wo Wan's words, Wo Zhixing was still somewhat incredulous. Although he had heard about this from others, he had never believed it. This was a time of peace, how could the three factions of Wolong activate the temple? How could a new leader emerge?

“That’s true. You’ll only know the specifics once you’re up the mountain. We need to leave the Wolong Mountain area immediately; we have things to take care of,” Chen Zhou said directly.

"You still want to leave now? You've seen this great formation. The commotion at Qianlong Mountain last time shocked the entire Northern Kingdom. Now, various forces in the Northern Kingdom have sent people to intercept the people from the Wolong Three Sects to gather information. Our force is just one of them," Wo Zhixing said slowly.

He didn't say "but," but his meaning was clear. If it weren't for his fear, Chen Zhou and Wo Wan might have been captured.

"I understand. What kind of organization are you infiltrating?" Chen Zhou asked curiously, as the man hadn't said anything from beginning to end.
