Chapter 196 A Fire Without a Root

Chen Zhou's true energy had an unexpected effect on subduing the rootless fire; it seemed that the rootless fire immediately calmed down in the face of Chen Zhou's true energy.

Seeing this effect, Chen Zhou smiled slightly; this was exactly the effect he wanted.

Chen Zhou immediately guided the rootless fire into his dantian under the guidance of his true qi, and began to truly refine the rootless fire.

Chen Zhou can still feel the chill of the yin wind because he hasn't truly absorbed the Rootless Fire yet. Chen Zhou is eagerly anticipating the feeling of being immune to the cold yin wind once he absorbs the Rootless Fire. He longs for that feeling.

Therefore, Chen Zhou must now absorb this rootless fire.

After transporting the rootless fire to his dantian, Chen Zhou immediately began to use his true energy to dissolve it. Instantly, the rootless fire dispersed into countless small flames, which were then dissolved again by Chen Zhou's true energy, turning into tiny flames.

After turning into flames, Chen Zhou directly transported them to his limbs, where they were absorbed by his body.

After completing these tasks, Chen Zhou felt his body getting warmer and warmer, and the cold, chilly feeling from before had completely disappeared.

"Next, we'll enter that palace." Chen Zhou looked up at the palace in the distance again, shook off all the ice shards from his body, and then took out a new set of clothes from his storage ring and put them on. The clothes he had just worn had been corroded by the dark red substance and were no longer wearable.

When Chen Zhou's body had recovered to a near-complete state, he immediately used his true energy to fly directly over the area where the dark red substance had accumulated. After that, Chen Zhou landed in front of it and began to stride towards the palace.

Chen Zhou could no longer find Wo Wan, meaning she had already entered the palace, and naturally, she was no longer there. Chen Zhou wasn't sure how much time he had taken, but he estimated it to be about an hour. Chen Zhou quickly arrived at the enormous palace.

Only when you get closer to Chen Zhou can you see the full view of this palace.

This was a huge black palace. Chen Zhou could not see any patterns on the palace. It was almost entirely black, and from a distance, it looked like a city wall.

"How do I open this door?" Chen Zhou walked up to the "city wall" and looked at the door with a puzzled expression.

Chen Zhou is currently unable to open the door.

The structure of this door seemed quite different from the structure of any door Chen Zhou had ever seen.

Chen Zhou grew up in the Sword Cloud Sect, and his other memories were from his modern life. Therefore, his modern knowledge of unlocking doors seemed to have no effect here. In contrast, within the vast Sword Cloud Sect, Chen Zhou lived in a small house, and the locks on those small houses were mostly ordinary locks that could only be used from the inside; they couldn't be locked from the outside.

Therefore, Chen Zhou had no idea what the locks on the Tianyun Continent were like.

It now appears that Chen Zhou is completely unable to unlock the door.

Wo Wan, having lived in the Northern Kingdom's palace since childhood, was naturally much more familiar with locks and similar things than Chen Zhou. Now, Chen Zhou was suffering because of this; he simply couldn't open the door.

"What exactly is this thing?" Chen Zhou asked, looking at the lock with a puzzled expression. For a moment, Chen Zhou didn't know what to do.

The lock was indeed very strange, and Chen Zhou felt very puzzled.

"Let's try using true qi." Chen Zhou murmured, and then he actually began to bombard the lock on the door with true qi. One after another, true qi attacks hit the lock, but the lock did not loosen at all, which made Chen Zhou's face gradually turn ugly.

Chen Zhou is now essentially out of options. His only way out is through this door. Only by entering can he figure out what to do next.

What's really awkward now is...

Chen Zhou was unable to open the door.

In other words, Chen Zhou is currently unable to enter this palace. Only now does Chen Zhou realize the importance of Wo Wan. If Wo Wan were here, then someone could lead him inside.

Chen Zhou suddenly thought of Elder Ren. Elder Ren had guided him for a long time, and usually at times like this, Elder Ren would come out to teach Chen Zhou what to do. However, now, Chen Zhou was all alone.

For some unknown reason, Chen Zhou suddenly took out his heavy sword from his storage ring and slashed it heavily at the lock. Chen Zhou's heavy sword collided heavily with the lock, producing a dull thud.

However, Chen Zhou's Heavy Edge Sword was already badly damaged and covered with wounds, so Chen Zhou was indeed unable to use it to break the lock.

Perhaps Chen Zhou made the wrong choice from the start.

Just as Chen Zhou was stunned, the Heavy Sword in his hand suddenly shone brightly, and its shape immediately began to twist and change. It turned into a strange shape, and Chen Zhou suddenly lost control of it. At this moment, Chen Zhou was being led around by the Heavy Sword!

The strangely shaped heavy sword led Chen Zhou to the right side of the gate. There was a huge hole on the right side of the gate. The heavy sword was inserted directly into the hole, and its shape matched the hole perfectly. Then, the heavy sword twisted again with Chen Zhou, and the gate slowly opened.

After completing these steps, the heavy sword was immediately ejected and returned to its original appearance.

Chen Zhou remained rooted to the spot, stunned by what was happening. What was going on?
