Chapter 256 Paradise

"It is indeed strange. Let's set off immediately without delay," Chen Zhou said impatiently.

The middle-aged vendor's answer seemed somewhat different from what he had in mind. In this situation, shouldn't they discuss it further? Perhaps they could squat down and take a look at the weeds or something?

But Chen Zhou's immediate thought was to leave the cave as soon as possible.

Just as the middle-aged vendor was about to offer Chen Zhou his suggestion, Chen Zhou had already started walking outside. The middle-aged vendor had no choice but to give up and immediately used his feet to test the ground. It seemed soft and fluffy, probably a fertile land. The ground on the tenth and ninth floors was rock hard, and it was incomparable to the ground here.

The cave wasn't very deep. After walking for a while, Chen Zhou led the people from the Advanced Alliance out of the cave.

Chen Zhou finally understood something.

No wonder the cave was dark; it seemed the eighth level was currently in darkness. Chen Zhou and his group left the teleportation portal and found themselves in a pitch-black place, barely illuminated only by Chen Zhou's flames. With the help of his flames, they could roughly make out their surroundings.

Rather than describing what appears before them as the eighth floor, it would be more accurate to describe it as a tranquil little village.

What appeared before them were long stretches of rice paddies, filled with crops. Scattered among these paddies were houses, appearing only in a very isolated manner.

Is this the eighth floor?

The first thing Chen Zhou thought of this place was a paradise on earth.

Chen Zhou had never seen such a tranquil place before. It felt like a summer evening, with the croaking of frogs echoing among the rice paddies of the countryside. This feeling gave Chen Zhou an unprecedented sense of peace.

The tranquility made Chen Zhou feel incredibly comfortable.

At this moment, Chen Zhou and his group were standing on a continuous mountain range. Chen Zhou magnified the flames and could see clearly that they were standing high on the mountain range, allowing them to look down. It seemed to be a basin.

Chen Zhou's flames could reach both sides, but they couldn't illuminate the entire mountain range; all that Chen Zhou could see at this moment was the mountain range itself.

This mountain range appears on the edge of this eighth level, surrounding the basin below.

The basin contains rice paddies and various crops, with houses scattered throughout.

Isn't this burning site notorious for violence? Why would such a place exist?

In Chen Zhou's eyes, this place might be a paradise, a transitional place. The truly bloody place of the burning was probably not here, but elsewhere.

"What do we do now?" The middle-aged vendor was also deeply attracted by the environment. He was now glad he had made the choice. Wasn't this place better than the ninth floor? The environment and living conditions here were probably far superior to those on the ninth floor!

The middle-aged vendor had previously considered retiring on the ninth floor, but now it seems that if he were to choose to retire, he could definitely come to the eighth floor! The eighth floor is the perfect place for an ideal retirement life.

The middle-aged merchant had assumed that entering the eighth level would mean being ready to fight at any moment, so he had been prepared to fight all along, gradually blending his body into the crowd of the Advancement Alliance. But now it seemed that the eighth level was far different from what he had imagined! It had completely disrupted his plans.

"Let's not rush. Now that things have stabilized here, we need to find the original inhabitants to understand the situation. We need to figure out if this is really the eighth floor, and whether we've come to the wrong place," Chen Zhou said calmly. They had arrived in a completely unfamiliar place, so they could only learn about it before making any decisions. Perhaps this place wasn't as peaceful as it seemed on the surface.

Chen Zhou immediately prepared to use his flames to find a way down the mountain, but after searching left and right, he found that there was no path at all, and he could only wander down by himself.

"Go this way." The middle-aged vendor saw Chen Zhou walking foolishly to either side and called out to him, even though there was a path leading down the mountain right in front of them.

However, this wasn't a proper path down the mountain; it was just a path that had become a route because so many people had used it. Chen Zhou carefully examined the mountain and discovered that there were actually many crops growing there, mostly trees.

However, Chen Zhou didn't know much about trees. Before he transmigrated here, he was just an ordinary high school student who wasn't interested in trees and naturally didn't know anything about them. He immediately saw many trees that he couldn't name.

The path down the mountain was not rugged. After walking for an unknown amount of time, they finally reached the foot of the mountain. When Chen Zhou looked up again at the foot of the mountain, he found that the view above was so far away.

The mountains here seem to be very high; this place is probably a basin.

After entering the basin, Chen Zhou immediately stepped onto the path between the rice paddies. Using the light of the flames, he saw a house ahead with smoke rising from it, indicating that it was probably almost morning, although the eighth floor was not yet lit up.

Could it be that this eighth floor, like the ninth floor, also has a system to divide day and night? Chen Zhou couldn't help but wonder. Moreover, the plants here are all green, and they look very healthy. They must have received good sunlight. If there was a lack of sunlight, they probably wouldn't be so green.
