"So they might think I'm dead now," Yuan Ziyi said with some disappointment.
"No, they might be looking for you too. As long as you don't give up, there will always be a chance," Chen Zhou advised. Now Chen Zhou began to rethink his next steps. The current situation wasn't too bad; at least he had found some clues about Wo Wan. It wasn't like he had gained nothing.
"Who are you?" After a brief moment of grief, Yuan Ziyi immediately realized something. She hadn't even asked them who they were! How did they know her captain? And the Nine-Layer Army? The Nine-Layer Army was mostly women! She'd seen the few men there, but they were just technicians and odd-job workers. She'd never seen these two before!
“Wo Wan is my disciple, and I have been searching for her,” Chen Zhou said honestly, without any intention of hiding anything. Now Ning Qing’er finally believed Chen Zhou, because based on a woman’s intuition, she believed Yuan Ziyi, and Yuan Ziyi believed her, so naturally she believed Chen Zhou as well.
"I think I heard the captain mention this before; she seems to be looking for you too," Yuan Ziyi said, trying to recall.
Chen Zhou nodded silently. He had already heard these words from Zhuo Miaoyan, so he wasn't too surprised. He had saved Wo Wan's life and was also Wo Wan's master. If she didn't want to find Chen Zhou, who else could she want to find?
"Can you take us to that capital city? We have many people here who need to register," Chen Zhou asked casually. Now that he couldn't find Wowan, he had to find a way to settle his brothers.
"I see. There are so many of you. Did you all enter here together as a group?" Yuan Ziyi asked tentatively.
“Exactly, we are of the same faction, so it’s best if we don’t separate. Will the registration and allocation of places separate us?” Chen Zhou continued to ask casually, ignoring the expressions of Yuan Ziyi and Ning Qing’er.
"What? It really is a force?" Yuan Ziyi said in shock.
Chen Zhou couldn't quite understand Yuan Ziyi's shocked statement, so he immediately asked, "What's wrong?"
“In the eighth level, there is a rule that is strictly prohibited: forming cliques. If your faction wants to stay peacefully in this eighth level, it must disperse. This faction must be disbanded,” Yuan Ziyi explained.
Upon hearing this, Chen Zhou and the middle-aged merchant immediately understood. No wonder Yuan Ziyi was so shocked when she heard their words, and Ning Qing'er didn't believe them when she first saw their large group. It seemed that in this eighth level, the only people who formed cliques were the local bullies and the powerful figures in the capital.
Others probably wouldn't dare to form cliques, which is why they were so convinced that they were the other local strongmen.
That explains everything.
"I see. Then why can your ninth-level army form cliques here?" Chen Zhou asked, somewhat puzzled. Could it be that the influence of the ninth-level army has spread to this eighth level?
"Of course it's forbidden! If we hadn't been so good at hiding, we would have been caught long ago. That's why the leader did it so discreetly, only telling the captain about it and giving the token to the captain. If it had been given to incompetent people like us, we probably would have been discovered long ago," Yuan Ziyi said dejectedly.
Chen Zhou then realized that this matter was not simple. So that's how it was. No wonder the people of the Ninth Layer Army were so careful. They were trying to avoid these things.
"Okay, so you mean if we go to that capital city now, it will break up our forces?" Chen Zhou asked.
“That’s right. So whether you register or not is your choice. You can just hide in this village and you won’t be discovered by the capital. The people from the capital only come once a month, and they come to collect grain,” Yuan Ziyi replied.
Chen Zhou nodded slightly, indicating that he understood. Just then, a commotion suddenly arose outside!
"Let me go!"
"Let go of that old man!"
...
The noise outside grew louder and louder, and everyone in the room heard it. With a "snap," all four of them stood up at the same time. Ning Qing'er and Yuan Ziyi exchanged a glance and said in unison, "Grandpa's in trouble!"
Because the voice they heard earlier was the same as the old man's, Chen Zhou and the middle-aged merchant immediately realized that something was amiss, and they rushed out of the house with Ning Qing'er.
As soon as Chen Zhou came out, he immediately saw the chaos at the entrance. The old man was being held by the collar by a tall, fat man and was being slowly lifted up. The old man's breathing was rapidly decreasing! It seemed that the last sentence he uttered was the loudest he had ever spoken!
The old man had already been caught!
The members of the Advanced Alliance were standing opposite the fat man, who was surrounded by a group of people. They were in a standoff with Chen Zhou's Advanced Alliance members!
With the arrival of the four, the situation changed slightly! The fat man saw the two women hurrying past and immediately put the old man down, gently placing him on the ground. He fawned, "Oh dear! Grandpa, are you alright? I was just checking on you!"
Upon hearing this, Chen Zhou immediately felt his stomach churn. Did this fat man think everyone was stupid? Was he here specifically to disgust people?
