Qin Huai stopped in front of a mobile stall selling fried rice and noodles by the roadside.
The stall owner was a middle-aged woman, wearing an apron, and moved quickly.
"Boss lady, one order of fried noodles, with shredded pork."
"Okay, handsome, please have a seat. It'll be ready soon."
Qin Huai casually picked up a small stool, sat down, took out his phone, and used the encryption system to send a message to an unknown number.
Tell the other party that traces of Nuwa have been discovered in Chongcheng.
At that moment, a middle-aged man with a plump figure walked over quickly and called out to the proprietress, "Wife."
The proprietress, her hands still busy, asked curiously, "Why are you closing up shop so early today?"
"Hey, don't even mention it. These days, all sorts of strange things happen."
"What's wrong?"
My car was stolen.
"Huh? The car was stolen?" The proprietress paused, looking at her husband in surprise.
The man said, "I was only in the bathroom for a moment, and my car was driven away. Damn it, I don't understand. They even steal taxis. What's their motive?"
"Did you tell Lao Wang?"
The proprietress quickly started stir-frying.
"I already said so."
"Did you call the police?"
"No... Anyway, the car belongs to the company, and the company will figure something out. I just happen to have two days off."
"Take a break? We haven't even earned enough for our son's tuition next semester, what right do you have to take a break?"
The proprietress glared at her: "The car was stolen from you, aren't you responsible? Call the police right now!"
After being scolded by his wife, the man wasn't angry. He took out his phone and dialed the police.
The stir-fried noodles were ready, and the proprietress plated them and brought them over to Qin Huai.
Qin Huai looked at the steaming fried noodles, picked up a pair of disposable chopsticks, and was about to start eating when he heard the man say, "Hey, 111? My car got stolen, a taxi, not worth much. What was that Bao Pilong after... just recently... yeah, the license plate number is Chongqing A69T12..."
"Um?"
Qin Huai picked up a piece of fried noodles with his chopsticks, but before he could put it in his mouth, he paused.
"Holy shit."
After realizing what was happening, Qin Huai turned and ran.
If he remembered correctly, the license plate number of the taxi that Su Huaijun got into was Chongqing A69T12!
"Hey! You haven't paid yet!"
The proprietress shouted at Qin Huai's retreating figure.
Qin Huai had already run quite a distance, dialing as he ran: "Glasses, find a taxi, license plate number Chongqing A69T12, hurry! Otherwise something bad will happen!"
Give me a few minutes.
The sound of typing came from the phone. After a flurry of typing, Glasses said, "Found it. Luckily it was a taxi, otherwise it wouldn't have been this fast. Although the car's surveillance and location system was turned off, I still managed to locate it easily."
"Enough with the nonsense, where's the car?"
"Still moving, I'll transfer the real-time location to your phone."
After hanging up the call, Qin Huai opened the encrypted system and found the program sent by Glasses.
The image above is a topographical map of Chongcheng. A red dot represents the taxi, which is currently moving at a constant speed.
Qin Huai immediately hailed a taxi, got in, fastened his seatbelt, and told the driver, "Take the Jiefeng direction."
The driver frowned slightly upon hearing this, but said nothing and gently pressed the accelerator.
Seeing that the driver was driving steadily and slowly, Qin Huai couldn't help but urge, "Driver, please hurry up, I'm in a rush."
This sentence is like activating some kind of specific program.
The taxi driver perked up and immediately stepped on the gas.
With the engine roaring, this cheap commuter car, costing only tens of thousands of yuan, was driven like a race car, quickly overtaking other vehicles traveling in the same direction.
Qin Huai stared at the location on the map; the distance between them was rapidly decreasing.
After crossing a Yangtze River bridge, Qin Huai could already see the taxi with license plate number Chong A69T12 in his line of sight.
"Driver, slow down and follow that taxi," Qin Huai said, pointing to the taxi.
The driver glanced at Qin Huai suspiciously, perhaps thinking that Qin Huai didn't seem like a bad person, so he didn't ask any more questions, gently stepped on the brakes, slowed down, and followed at a distance.
The taxi drove further and further into remote areas, and after going down the Jiefeng Elevated Road, it even turned onto a suburban road.
The driver was annoyed: "Brother, what exactly do you do? It's so late, and you're driving to such a remote place. I'm almost at the end of my shift, and if I can't pick up any passengers on my way back, I'll just have to leave the car empty, which will be a huge loss."
Qin Huai turned to look at the driver, his expression turning solemn: "We need your cooperation for the patrol and investigation."
He had no choice but to do it, but unfortunately he was short of money. Otherwise, he could have just thrown out a few bills, which would have been stylish and domineering. Why would he have to make up a lie?
"Investigation?"
The taxi driver, probably a big fan of police dramas, didn't even ask for Qin Huai's ID before his eyes lit up and he asked, "What did the people in the taxi do?"
"Human traffickers, abducting women and children," Qin Huai said casually.
"grass!"
The driver flew into a rage and cursed, "Human traffickers are utterly depraved! Every one of them should be shot! I've run into one this time, and I absolutely won't let him get away with it!"
As he spoke, he turned off the car lights and said to Qin Huai, "Are you planning to play the long game, find their hideout, and wipe them out in one fell swoop?"
Qin Huai nodded: "That's right."
That's really what he thought.
"Don't worry, I definitely won't let you down."
The driver was very confident, and with his superb driving skills, he actually managed to stay far behind, without losing them or being noticed by the taxis in front.
This lasted another half hour.
We had already entered the outskirts of the city, where the surroundings were desolate and quiet, and the ground was covered with weeds.
