Beep~ Beep~ Beep...
"Hey, honey, what's up with all this calling?"
Lu Zenian's voice came through the phone, along with the sound of whistling wind.
Lu Qingxue hesitated for a moment, then whispered, "Dad, where are you?"
"Didn't I tell you I was vacationing with your Aunt Wei on Cicero Island? Did something happen?"
Lu Zenian's voice clearly reached Lu Qingxue's ears.
But this answer made Lu Qingxue's heart tremble.
She suddenly panicked, forcing herself to suppress her fear, and said with difficulty, "No, I was just asking."
"Okay, then I'll stop chatting with you. Your Aunt Wei is asking me to take pictures of her."

Her office has a separate restroom and lounge.

"Honey, are you really okay? You've called four times already. Remember to tell your dad if anything happens."

Lu Qingxue said in a deep voice, "It's nothing, I just missed you."
Lu Zenian replied, "You're such a grown-up, yet you're still as clingy as when you were a child. Are you tired? Why don't you come over and relax for a couple of days?"
At that moment, Lu Qingxue felt as if the sky had fallen.
Her breathing became heavy, and her whole body trembled uncontrollably: "No, I have a lot of things to do at the company, I can't leave. You can play with Aunt Wei."
"Okay, then I'm going to play with your Aunt Wei."
The moment the call ended, Lu Qingxue felt weak all over, as if she couldn't stand up.
Struggling to stay upright by the sink, Lu Qingxue saw her bloodless face in the mirror.
It looked like seeing a ghost in broad daylight.

Lu Qingxue shook her head unconsciously and made a video call to Lu Zenian.
The call was connected.
A beeping sound rang out.
Lu Qingxue gripped her phone tightly, her knuckles turning white from the tension.
With great anxiety, the video call connected.
Lu Zenian's figure and face appeared on the screen.
He was wearing a beach shirt, with a soft, fine sandy beach in the background and the sea with waves constantly crashing against the shore.
"Honey, what's wrong? What's wrong? Why is your face so pale?"
Lu Zenian paused, then asked with concern, "Are you sick?"
Lu Qingxue stared intently at Lu Zenian and said, word by word, "Dad, where are you?"

"Dad...please come back, I miss you," Lu Qingxue said, her voice trembling with tears.
“My dear daughter, how can I come back now? I’m about to win over your Aunt Wei. I’ll come back to see you with your Aunt Wei then. Tell me what happened first, and Dad will help you figure out a solution.”
"Is something wrong with the company? Let me tell you..."
"dad!"
Lu Qingxue interrupted, choking back tears, "No, I was just asking casually."
"Alright."
Lu Zenian nodded, tilted his head to the side to look, then nodded again, looked at Lu Qingxue, and said, "Then I won't talk to you anymore, your Aunt Wei asked me to take pictures of her."
"dad……"
Lu Qingxue burst into tears.
"Daughter, don't cry, what's wrong?"
"Come back."

"I really can't leave. Daddy promises you, I'll be back soon, okay?"
Lu Qingxue fell silent, staring blankly at Lu Zenian on the screen, tears streaming down her face.
