(Just a quick note: For those of you who have been following my updates daily, please read the previous chapter first before reading this one. The chapter order has been rearranged; reading the previous chapter first is the correct order. These past three days, I've been spending the night at the hospital and dealing with the second and third times of the Nymph incident, which has taken a toll on my updates and caused some disruptions. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.)
Upon hearing Jiang Ning's words, Jin Hui stood there stunned for a moment.
Yes, he had always thought that Jiang Hong was Yan Keyi's sugar daddy, which was why he asked Jiang Hong to take better care of Yan Keyi.
After all, it's hard for Jin Hui not to think that way when a business tycoon who has never been involved in the entertainment industry suddenly asks her to take care of a new actress.
But now it seems that his thinking was really narrow-minded. Yan Keyi is really not the kind of person who gets into the crew through connections.
Just from today's filming, Jin Hui has already felt Yan Keyi's strength and hard work.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Jiang, I apologize for my misunderstanding of Xiao Yan."
After figuring out what had happened, Jin Hui promptly apologized to Jiang Ning.
Jin Hui hadn't expected the relationship between Jiang Ning and Yan Keyi. She knew that Jiang Ning and Yan Keyi were very close sisters. As for why Yan Keyi didn't have the surname Jiang, perhaps it was because one of them took their father's surname and the other their mother's? Or perhaps Yan Keyi was a cousin of one of her relatives.
Jin Hui stopped speculating about the specifics. Jiang Ning felt relieved after receiving Jin Hui's apology.
After the misunderstanding was cleared up, Jin Hui went back. As the chief director, there were still some things that required his overall oversight.
With nothing else to do, Jiang Ning quietly stayed to the side by himself.
When Yan Keyi finished her rounds and came to find Jiang Ning, Jiang Ning was already dealing with his work.
"What are you busy with, sister?"
There were quite a few agents who came with them today, but most of them stayed together chatting and didn't split up. Only Jiang Ning was sitting here alone.
Yan Keyi was also somewhat concerned, which is why she reached out during the break.
"It's okay, I'm reading the script. Yiyi, you can have fun by yourself and don't worry about me here."
Seeing that someone was looking this way, Jiang Ning was worried that Yan Keyi was concerned that coming here alone would not be good for Yan Keyi to get along with the other actors she was working with, so she thought that Yan Keyi should just take care of herself first.
But Jiang Ning had come with her, and Yan Keyi didn't want her to be ignored.
"Hello, Mr. Jiang."
Just as Yan Keyi was trying to persuade Jiang Ning to go out for a walk with her, someone approached them.
The visitor was Sang Yan, the agent of Luo Ying, the female lead in the drama. As a well-established actress, her agent, Sang Yan, naturally held a high position in the industry.
Jiang Ning hadn't approached them earlier because he felt those people had already formed their own group and were all revolving around Sang Yan. While it was important to maintain proper politeness, Jiang Ning didn't want to be following in their footsteps, so he didn't take the initiative to get closer.
But now that Sang Yan has already come over to greet them, if Jiang Ning doesn't react, it will seem like they are being disrespectful.
"Brother Sang, you're really joking. I don't have that much ability."
Jiang Ning maintained proper politeness without getting too close to others.
Everyone knows that Yan Keyi's studio was established by Jiang Ning.
Keep in mind that back then, Yan Keyi was just a struggling actress with only a small following. Many established artists can't guarantee success if they leave their entertainment company and go solo.
But it was under these circumstances that Jiang Ning managed to bring Yan Keyi out of poverty, and Sang Yan still admired Jiang Ning quite a bit.
He was the one who brought Luo Ying up, and he knew the hardships he had endured to raise her to be the person she is today.
Therefore, he didn't want to miss out on this relationship with Jiang Ning, who was clearly capable and had connections.
Perhaps sensing Sang Yan's intentions, Jiang Ning softened his attitude towards Sang Yan.
Jiang Ning still holds people in high esteem for those who have truly made a name for themselves in a field through their own hard work and dedication.
By the time the gathering here ended, it was almost ten o'clock.
If it were a wrap party, Jin Hui would probably organize another one. After all, once filming wraps, many people might head off to a new production and it would be difficult to meet again.
But this is just the beginning. The main cast and crew are getting together, as there's filming scheduled for tomorrow. So that's all for today.
As the party was about to end, Jiang Ning sent a message to Xiang Yun, who rushed back as soon as she received the message.
"Ugh, I'm so tired."
Once she got in the car and there were no outsiders around, Yan Keyi relaxed.
Seeing that Yan Keyi looked very tired, Jiang Ning simply supported her head and let her rest it on his lap.
Although Jiang Ning knew that Yan Keyi was exaggerating to a large extent, he still wanted Yan Keyi to be more comfortable.
Seeing that Jiang Ning was indulging her, Yan Keyi simply found a comfortable position and lay down on Jiang Ning's lap.
Although the two of them were in the back seat of the car, Xiang Yun actually saw everything.
But how could Xiang Yun dare to say anything?
One is his own boss, and the other is his own boss's wife.
What could she say? She could only shut up and get to work.
After all, Jiangning gave us a lot, so we'll just have to bear with it.
"Sister Ning, should we go home, go back to Uncle and Aunt's place, or go to the hotel booked by the film crew?"
