Chapter 191 Dilemma

Following Yan Keyi's gaze, Jiang Ning realized that he had only heard a voice but hadn't seen anyone. After seeing the person, he realized it was the actor who had been gossiping about Yan Keyi on set.

I originally thought that she had such a big problem with Yan Keyi and spoke so harshly because she was someone who could get by in one go, so she looked down on Yan Keyi.

Turns out I'm just a half-baked amateur.

"Sister, what's wrong?"

Although Jiang Ning didn't speak, Yan Keyi sensed that something was wrong with Jiang Ning's mood, so she asked out of curiosity.

Although there was no one around, they were still on set, and Jiang Ning didn't know if anyone might overhear, so she couldn't speak directly. However, she didn't have a very good impression of the actor himself.

"It's okay, we just need to mind our own business and not worry about other people's affairs."

After saying that, Jiang Ning lowered his head and began to attend to his own business.

Seeing this, Yan Keyi remained silent.

But even though Jin Hui was almost making the person cry from her scolding, no one tried to stop the fight.

Everyone knows that Jin Hui has a bad temper, and given that Annie angered him, few people dared to step in and speak up for him.

Annie had seen Yan Keyi go through the scene several times before she could get it right, and Annie felt that her acting skills were even better than Yan Keyi's, so she wouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable.

Who would have thought that when it was my turn to film, the shoot was stopped shortly after it started, and I was even yelled at.

Annie felt really indignant. What did she lack compared to Yan Keyi that made her have to be compared like this?

The younger actress finished filming Jin Hui's scenes peacefully and even received praise, while the older actress repeatedly jumped around and was scolded to her face.

If word gets out, won't she be the laughingstock behind her back?

Annie was already annoyed by Jin Hui's reprimand. But when she looked up and saw Yan Keyi still looking in her direction, she felt even more uncomfortable.

Annie is considered a new generation actress, and she debuted with a persona of being a talented actress.

Although her appearance isn't particularly stunning—after all, in the entertainment industry where beauties abound, it's really hard to stand out—there's no denying that she's still pretty.

During the audition, Jin Hui thought Annie's performance was quite commendable, which is why she ultimately chose Annie from among the many auditionees.

However, once filming actually began, Jin Hui discovered that it wasn't quite the case.

Anne's acting skills are not as good as rumored; in fact, her current performance is not even as good as her audition performance.

Seeing that she still seemed unconvinced, Jin Hui's anger flared even more.

Coincidentally, following Annie's gaze, Jin Hui saw Yan Keyi and hatched a plan.

"Xiao Yan! Come here for a moment."

Originally just observing from the sidelines, Yan Keyi was suddenly called out by name and went over. It was like getting a close look at the drama unfolding before her eyes.

"Jin Island, what's wrong?"

Yan Keyi spoke in a gentle and humble tone.

It has to be said that Yan Keyi has already won at the starting line with her attitude.

"Xiao Yan, take a look at this part. Try to find out what it should feel like."

Jin Hui was really angry, which is why she made this request at this moment.

Neither of them are veteran actors, but Jin Hui would rather believe Yan Keyi than Annie.

Upon hearing Jin Hui's words, Yan Keyi's first reaction was to look at Annie and then at Jin Hui.

Annie felt that Yan Keyi, as a newcomer, couldn't possibly have any outstanding performance. Besides, wasn't Jin Hui using Yan Keyi as a showcase to embarrass her?

This made Annie even angrier.

Yan Keyi looked at Jiang Ning with some difficulty in making a decision. Jiang Ning actually didn't want Yan Keyi to get involved in this mess.

If you act well, Annie will hold a grudge; if you act poorly, Jin Hui will scold you.

Jiang Ning had done some research on Annie beforehand. Her impression of her wasn't very good, and she was worried that Annie might cause trouble for Yan Keyi behind her back.

Jin Hui was in a bad mood, and she didn't want Yan Keyi to be scolded for not performing well.

"Xiao Yan?"

Just as Jiang Ning and Yan Keyi were struggling with their decision, Jin Hui called out to Yan Keyi again.

Jin Hui's shout also drew everyone's attention to Yan Keyi.

Yan Keyi is now in a dilemma, unable to decide whether to go or not.

"Go ahead, I'll take care of anything that happens to you."

After receiving Jiang Ning's words, Yan Keyi walked towards Jin Hui and Annie.

She trusted Jiang Ning; she believed Jiang Ning would protect her.

"Director Jin, I'll give it a try."

After taking the script from Jin Hui, Yan Keyi glanced at the plot and lines.

Yan Keyi had already read the entire script, and she could follow most of the plot smoothly.

But since it wasn't her own role, Yan Keyi didn't have the energy at the moment to familiarize herself with other characters after finishing her own. She wasn't even sure if she could portray Annie well.

After getting used to it for a few minutes, Yan Keyi signaled that she was ready.

Without anyone to act with her, Yan Keyi performed the scene where Annie was criticized harshly all by herself.

"Director Kim, I'm done."

When Yan Keyi took the initiative to speak, it caused a brief silence among the onlookers on set.

Although this isn't Yan Keyi's character, the difference in their abilities is still noticeable when comparing the two.

With the same plot, Annie's performance just felt a little off, while Yan Keyi's performance made it feel like the character had stepped right out of the script.

Although her performance wasn't the best yet, she's still a beginner. If she continues to act like she is, doing more takes if she's not satisfied, she'll eventually find her best performance.

Seeing Yan Keyi's performance, Jin Hui also fell silent for a moment.

Seeing that Jin Hui didn't say anything, Yan Keyi was also a little worried. She hadn't seen her performance on camera and wasn't sure how well she acted. She was afraid that Jin Hui would be disappointed.

"Have you clearly seen the difference between you and Xiao Yan? You're both playing the same role, but Xiao Yan didn't even do any special research and still performed like this. Have you really put your heart into this role? I hope you'll think about it carefully. I'm giving you half a day off this afternoon. We'll film when you're ready."

Jin Hui remained silent for a long while before giving these words.

He didn't fly into a rage as expected, but his disappointment in Annie was still palpable.

"Prepare for the next match!"

After adjusting her mindset, Jin Hui decided to film the next scene first, not wanting to delay the entire crew's progress because of Annie alone.

Annie's face was already quite pale.
