The next morning, Yan Keyi woke up early because she had slept a lot the night before. Usually, Jiang Ning would get up before her to take care of her, but this was unusual because Jiang Ning had been busy until very late the night before, so he got up late today.
Jiang Ning appears to be a cold and aloof older sister type, but when she falls asleep, she is quite different from usual.
I had never seen it up close before, but now that I'm looking at it up close, I realize that Jiang Ning's eyelashes are actually quite long.
Perhaps because she was busy, her slightly pale lips looked rather cute.
Jiang Ning's appearance wasn't exactly cute, but for some reason, when Yan Keyi squatted by the bed looking at Jiang Ning's sleeping face, the word "cute" flashed through her mind.
Perhaps it was because her biological clock was about to kick in, Jiang Ning mumbled a couple of times in her sleep, which startled Yan Keyi. She was afraid that Jiang Ning would discover that she had been secretly watching her while she was asleep, and that it would frighten her.
Yan Keyi hurriedly slipped out of the bedroom to prepare breakfast.
When she first arrived, Yan Keyi wasn't quite used to the house, but with Jiang Ning's help, she's now quite adept at arranging the furniture and such.
When Jiang Ning got up, he saw Yan Keyi busy in the kitchen.
"Why can't Yiyi sleep a little longer? It's still early."
When Yan Keyi turned around, she found Jiang Ning leaning against the kitchen doorway, looking at her. Perhaps he had just woken up, as Jiang Ning still had a bit of a lazy, homey vibe about him, which made Yan Keyi stare blankly.
However, Yan Keyi was afraid that Jiang Ning would notice her unusual behavior, so she quickly adjusted her emotions.
It has to be said that practicing acting with Hu Yiming and Qin Yiran has its benefits. Yan Keyi's performance was flawless, and Jiang Ning didn't notice anything amiss.
"I got up when it was time. I was just thinking that I had to go to the film set later. Please have a seat, I'll be ready soon."
After kicking Jiang Ning out of the kitchen, Yan Keyi brought out breakfast.
"Didn't Director Hu approve two extra days of leave for you? Why don't you get two more days of rest?"
Hu Yiming was worried that this incident would affect Yan Keyi's mood, so he told Jiang Ning to grant Yan Keyi a few extra days off. She could film other people's scenes first and come back when she was ready.
"But if I rest for a few more days, it will delay the entire crew's schedule. I think I'm ready, and besides, I have my sister with me."
Without Jiang Ning's company and help, Yan Keyi really wouldn't have been able to adjust her mindset so quickly.
However, because she had Jiang Ning, and because Jiang Ning had even given up his job to accompany her to the film set, Yan Keyi felt that she had nothing to be afraid of.
Seeing Yan Keyi's persistence, Jiang Ning gave up. With her by his side, what else could possibly happen on set?
After breakfast, Jiang Ning drove Yan Keyi to the film set.
Although Yan Keyi knew Jiang Ning was well-off, she still found it quite novel to see him drive for the first time.
Moreover, it's not noticeable when he's wearing casual clothes, but once Jiang Ning changes into formal attire, he looks handsome no matter how you look at him.
If it were someone else chattering away in their own car, Jiang Ning would definitely tell them to shut up, but if it were Yan Keyi, he was happy to listen to her rambling.
Sitting in the passenger seat watching Jiang Ning drive, the early morning sunlight streamed through the car window and shone on Jiang Ning's face, the hazy warmth of the sun seemingly casting a glow over him.
When the breeze carried the faint scent of Jiang Ning's perfume to her nose, Yan Keyi was slightly stunned.
My sister is so beautiful... I wish she could always be by my side...
The person who had been muttering to herself suddenly fell silent, prompting Jiang Ning to glance at Yan Keyi a few more times. Seeing her looking dazed, as if deep in thought, Jiang Ning decided not to disturb her.
If she wanted to tell me, she definitely would. But if she didn't want to, she wouldn't press her further; she would respect Yan Keyi's wishes.
"We're here. Yiyi, would you like to go in first, or do you want to wait for me to park the car before we go in together?"
For the rest of the journey, Yan Keyi didn't say much, but Jiang Ning could sense that Yan Keyi's gaze was constantly and secretly glancing in his direction.
After arriving at the film set, Jiang Ning needed to park the car. She originally thought it would be easier for Yan Keyi to walk there by herself, but Yan Keyi, realizing that she seemed to have some thoughts about herself, wanted to spend more time with Jiang Ning, so she chose to go with her.
"Xiao Yan, what brings you here? Didn't Director Hu say he'd give you a few more days off?"
As soon as they entered the film set, Yan Keyi and Jiang Ning saw the people filming. Among the others waiting for their scenes, to Yan Keyi's surprise, Li Ying was the first to come and greet her.
Although Li Ying apologized to Yan Keyi because of Jiang Ning, and it seemed like they had reconciled, their relationship remained awkward.
Yan Keyi could anticipate everyone coming to greet her, but she never expected that she would take the initiative to greet her.
Seeing the aloofness and caution in Yan Keyi's eyes, Li Ying felt somewhat embarrassed.
At first, Li Ying genuinely believed that Yan Keyi had secured the role by compromising herself with some investor. She wouldn't feel too resentful if she lost to a more skilled actress.
Although she apologized to Yan Keyi later because of Jiang Ning's connection, she was still resentful. It was only after seeing Yan Keyi's performance on set that she gradually changed her opinion of her.
Now that she knew Yan Keyi wasn't actually that kind of person, she didn't harbor as much malice towards her.
Li Ying's success in the entertainment industry wasn't actually due to currying favor with those of high status and fame or suppressing those without. She simply disliked people who didn't obtain resources through their own abilities.
But after what happened yesterday, she realized that her perception of Yan Keyi was indeed based on preconceived prejudice. Now that the prejudice has been eliminated, her attitude towards her has naturally reversed.
Yan Keyi is young and may not be able to see through these things, but Jiang Ning can understand Li Ying's change in attitude.
In that sense, Li Ying is actually a good person; at least she wasn't influenced by the bad trends in the entertainment industry.
However, what happened before left a shadow on Yan Keyi's feelings. They might find it difficult to become close friends, but they certainly wouldn't be enemies. At the very least, they could maintain a facade of good relations.
